The golden rule

"But father Yue will never like to arrange marriage. We have to ask her first."

"When you got married to Wu Mey, have I asked you about your opinion? Were you not happy with her? Do you think I will make a mistake while choosing the husband for my dear Yue?"

Grandpa Wang Zhipeng turned around and sat back in the chair with determination in his eyes and Wang Bowen understood that it was of no use now to do anything for Wang Yue's future.

He slowly took the file that his father prepared and started to read it

"I will make her understand about it. Baba, I think I will take your leave now. I will talk with her in the office tomorrow."

"You better make her understand and accept it. I will fix this marriage after her short adventure of working with Xiao Hui for this joint project. I am calling him to stay here with us. I am thinking of handing over the entire Wang empire to him after they get married. He will come and stay with us here."

"Baba, you lied…"

"I only hid the whole truth. I will let her work on this project as an assistant but only with two differences. One she will stay here in The States and another she will work with Xiao Hui, not with Xiao Muchen."

"But Baba, this is wrong… We can't play with her feelings like this."

"If you are going to speak a single word now then I will make sure you stay away from her until she gets married to Xiao Hui."

And that was the end of their discussion that night.

For a father who got the final decision of his daughter's life, it was the most heartbreaking thing but what he could do about it when he was the one who was responsible?

"This is all my fault. I should have never listened to you in the first place when I wanted to rebel against you."

~~~~
"Hey, Mama, Jiejie. How are you doing there? Do you miss me?"
A lone tear escaped the twinkling eyes when the bucket of daffodils landed on the freshly cleaned grave of mother and daughter. No matter how hard she always tried to keep those cheaters, tears always betrayed her.
They flowed seamlessly from her eyes when she visited her mother and elder sister's graves.
"Is God taking good care of both of you? I think he is because I know you don't miss me at all. But believe me, I will be happy if you two are happy there. Just take care of each other well."
She stopped and like on cue the unrestrained sobs started to leave her mouth when she let her mind loose to do anything on his own. Her mind chose to let go of all the emotions it felt while near her mother and elder sister.
"I got a second chance in my life, Mama. I got a second chance in love. Help me, Mama, to win this chance, I am not afraid of dying after 50 days but she will take away my soul but there is something that is bothering me."
Her gaze slowly turned up to read her mother's name on the grave.
"In the loving memory of my love…Wu Mey."
"Mama, I am afraid to lose him, not my soul. I am ready to die for him but I don't want to live a single second without him. Mama please, let my soul die immediately if I lose this chance to get back what was mine."
It felt nice to get a second chance, she needed a chance to get the true love of her life and to get revenge on her husband's brother who not only created misunderstandings between them but also killed her husband who tried to save her until the end of his life.
But the corner of her mind slowly told her that she was forgetting something very important but no matter how hard she thought about it she wasn't able to remember what it was.
She finally kissed both the graves and giving a last look at those graves she turned her steps to go back home to finally pack up to go with her love of life.
~~~~

"What? But how can you let this happen, Dad, when I asked you to convince him about it? How can you let him go back just yet? He was supposed to go back next week when I talked with his secretary."

Wang Yue snapped loudly at her father inside his office when she got called by her father for some work. Her father was reading the file of their new project in his office chair when Wang Yue got to know about Xiao Muchen's departure that night.

"Dear Yue, don't get mad. I don't understand why you are getting so worked up just because he said no to you becoming his work assistant for this project. He is going back tonight but he said he will come back and meet you separately to talk about this issue. Wang Yue, listen to me…"

"No, you listen to me, Dad, this is so important for me… This project is going to change everything in my life. I need to go there and be with him anyhow… You are not getting it, Dad…I have to be with…"

Wang Yue snapped back again, throwing a glass that was on the office table. But those scattered shreds of glasses took her out of her distress and she put the palms of her hands on her mouth.

"I…I am sorry, Dad. I…I didn't mean to be so harsh on you…I am sorry…"

She sat back on the chair as her knees felt weak and Wang Bowen came running towards her side and held her shoulders which started to shake untamed.

"Dear Yue, what happened? Why are you so mad at everything? In the morning when you got to know that he left before you woke up you got so mad. Is there something that is bothering you? What is it, you can tell me."

When her father hugged her better, she closed her eyes and then opened them and nodded her head in understanding of the situation.

"Dad, I want to go to China. I think my future has something to do with it. The day mama and jiejie died in that accident in China, grandpa had forbidden both of us to go back there."

She stated the truth of their life and his grip around her loosened a bit.

"I tried many times to visit my mother and sister's graves which are there but he never allowed us to go back. I don't know what he is thinking about but this is my only chance to go there and I don't want to miss it at any cost."

"And you should not miss it. Go to the airport and try to convince Xiao Muchen about it. If he gets convinced, there is no need to come back. I am sending your ticket and passport with the driver."

"But if he won't get convinced?"

She asked with a lot of insecurities in her mind.

"I know my daughter, she never loses when it comes to her heart's wish."

A boxy bright smile scattered around her lips and she hugged her father tightly.

"Thank you so much, Dad. I love you."

She almost jumped at him and then ran to the door of the office when she heard him again.

"Wang Yue, you know the rule to get your wish done."

"Yes, Dad, As long as you are not hurting anyone I can do whatever I want."

"Yes, As long as you are not hurting anyone. All the best. I will miss you."

"I will miss you, Dad. bye."

As Wang Yue came out, she looked back at her father's office.

"I am sorry, Dad. I told you the half truth. I am not just going there to see mama and Jiejie's graves but I am going there to get back love of my life. I know you will understand." Wang Yue thought to herself and went on her way to go to Xiao Muchen.

Oops, Xiao Muchen rejected Wang Yue as his assistant. Now how Yue will convince him to take her with him?

The next chapter of them getting together...or not.
