The first step

"Dad, why can't you understand?"

"I understand, Dear Yu, that you want to return the favour of saving your life but that doesn't mean that you need to leave the world for him. I can't let you go with him to China."

Her grandfather adamantly said to her while taking a sip from her tea when they were sitting in the gazebo for breakfast the next day.

"It is better to learn as early as you can. You are the future of the Wang empire here. Future CEO of Wang groups. I can't let you waste fifty seconds on this project let alone about fifty days."

"I want to help him in business first to repay for what he did for me. That day he could have died saving me but without thinking for a second he jumped when everyone was just shouting for my name."

Wang Yue said as she put down her coffee cup on the breakfast table. She looked at the faces of her father and grandfather in deep thought and she thought that they were getting convinced of what she was telling them.

But she needed to convince them more before she could tell Xiao Muchen about this. This time she wasn't going to take any chances giving any order to him by her family members. 

"You mean you want to work under Xiao Muchen for the next few months just to help him to set up the base of this business in China and when it will be time for launching it in States, you will come back to our main company."

Wang Yue squeezed her eyes towards her father looking annoyed for asking the same question again, he looked down at his cup of tea. He took another sip avoiding Wang Yue's eyes.

"Dad, I told you this at least five times before but you are asking the same question?"

With a small groan of displeasure, she folded her hands on her chest.

"But working under Xiao Muchen?? Is it necessary? Don't you think this will be the wrong decision at this time when we have already introduced you as the future CEO of our company?"

"And this project is not just theirs. It is a joint venture of our company. We are also equal partners in this."

Her father annoyed her one more time with his infuriating thinking. 

"This is happening for the first time, Dad. What happened to you? Why do I have to convince you so much? In my last life, I used to just tell you and you used to complete my wish before I could think about it more."

She thought to herself again and then getting up from her seat, she went near her father. She back-hugged him while he was still sitting on the coffee chair and just relaxed while closing his eyes to stop his tears from rolling down.

"Trust me, Dad. I will be in safe hands. I know that project is not just theirs, we are equal partners but who knows that this experience will give me the best of my life."

Wang Bowen looked at his father Wang Zhipeng and saw him thinking seriously about what Wang Yue asked them.

"Grandpa, have you seen anyone so selfless and brave as him? And don't you want to return his favour?"

"Yes, I would love to return his favour but there are other ways. You don't have to work as his secretary. You can work there as his partner. We can increase our money on that project."

"Now that is the point, grandpa, he never works for money. He is working so hard to take Xiao's name first in the business world. It is his grandfather's dream."

She then took a deep breath and looked at her grandpa with a resolution in her mind. 

"You know, he only works with a few people who are loyal to his company. He never works with any partner, especially new partners. If I have to work with him then I have to become his assistant on this project."

"But why are you so eager to work under him, even if that means you have to degrade yourself as his assistant? It is just a herbal medicine product, not that big a project."

Grandpa Wang got up from the coffee table saying that and turned around to go back to his room. 

"Grandpa, it is not about the project…"

Wang Yue said but as she realised what she was about to say, she stopped herself from saying it and grandpa Wang Zhipeng looked back at her.

"Then what is this all about?"

"I…I mean…Grandpa, He got Xiao businesses to the number one position in China in just three years. Can you believe it? Xiao groups were at number ten three years back. Have you given it a thought about what he has done for that?"

Wang Yue was a businesswoman for nothing. She knew what was going on in the business field like the back of her hand and she did use her smartness to convince.

"I want to learn that. I want to take the Wang business to the number one position worldwide and only Xiao Muchen can help me with this. He can be that ladder for me to reach high."

"But you can just be with him in this project without working as his assistant."

"Partners never get to know the hidden truths, Grandpa that one assistant or secretary knows."

Wang Yue turned around to look at the small pond to hide her nervousness from her family. She bit her bottom lip and closed her eyes to calm herself a bit.

"Okay. you can go but only for fifty days. You will come back the next day, you get me?" 

When her grandpa's words reached her, her face could not control the happiness that she got from that news and she almost ran and jumped in her grandpa's arms.

"Yes, yes. Grandpa, I will. I will come back as soon as I finish my task there. But can you make Xiao Muchen understand this? Can you do it?"

"Yes, I will but remember one thing, never underestimate your grandfather, Wang Yue. He is going to watch over you when it's about doing work."

Her father smiled looking at her and she gave him her bright smile but still something churned inside her stomach that created chaos in her mind.

"I hope you always stand with me when I need you dad and grandpa because it won't matter what I get in my life if you are not happy. I hope to see you both on my side."

Wang Yue prayed in her mind but only if she did know what was coming her way…Would she have accepted Angel Ai's condition? Maybe…or maybe not…
