~Chapter 19 Blaze's POV~

,~Chapter 19 Blaze's POV~

The door opened with a loud creaking sound. I could feel Dustin's anxiousness coming off him in waves. "Hello. It's Blaze. Dustin and I are here for a meeting today." Rosemary's friendly voice chimed in and said "Oh hurry up and come in dears you'll let all the heat out at this rate." We walked into the room and took our seats. There were about seventeen elders in the room. This was almost all of the Elders the pack had. The other Elders are most likely taking a nap or don't have much of an interest. John, one of the oldest Elders spoke up first.

"Okay, so Dustin do you understand what it means to be the pack's Luna?" John asked Dustin. "Yes sir," Dustin replied. "What is your job and what pack are you from?" John asked Dustin. It seems that all the Elders gave their questions to John. "I do not have a job yet since I am still a college student. I am from the Midnight Pack." Dustin told him. "That is nice. Now how did you and Blaze meet?" John asked Dustin as he moved the chair. "I was studying in a cafe for an exam and Blaze accidentally spilled his coffee on me. Then one thing led to another and we are here now." Dustin said. "It is almost like one of those romance novels I used to read when I was younger."

Chloe, one of the elders stated. A couple of the Elders laughed at her statement. Chloe and Rosemary are two of the more relaxed Elders when it comes down to business. "Are you the son of the Pack Alpha? Or do you have any experience training to be a Luna?" John said, trying to get everyone back on topic. "I'm not the son of the Pack Alpha. I am willing to learn if it means I get to be with Blaze." Dustin said in a convincing tone. Even if what he said was a lie he'll still have to learn if he's approved. From the way things are going right now though it seems like he is in their favor. "Would you be able to continue college and training to be a Luna if we approve of you?" "It might be hard but I'm sure I will be able to manage if I change up my schedule a little bit," Dustin told the Elders.

It looked like John was checking off a list in his head when he paused before asking the next question. "Do you both love each other? If yes, are you both willing to have children in the future?" "Yes," Dustin and I answered at the same time. "Dustin and I have become mates already but we haven't had an official ceremony yet," I told the Elders. A couple of the Elders gasped at the news and then there was Chloe. "My gosh, they mated not knowing if we approved of them being together or not. This must be true love at work." Chole exclaimed making sure that she was speaking loudly. "Leave it to you Chole to find the romance in a mistake that could be grave." Benjamin one of the former Betas of the pack said. When it comes down to business for the most part the Elders are serious. Then when it isn't business they act like a group of high schoolers on the last day of school. They treat everyone as their grandchildren regardless of age. Some of the pack are some of their grandchildren.

Once the pack members become old and gray they become Elders. Sometimes if a warrior is injured in such a bad way that they can't be a warrior anymore they become an Elder. Elders are the most respected wolves in the pack. Warriors are the ones who protect the pack. Everyone else in the pack has normal jobs like chefs, doctors, designers, etc… We run a pack like a city. Each pack has a city's worth of territory so that leaves the option for plenty of ideas. "Okay, Okay, everyone. Let's get back on topic." John said once again signaling for order. Everyone was paying attention to him once again. "Okay you two may leave now I do not have any more questions for you guys. Once we reach our decision we will let you know." John said gesturing towards the door.

I took Dustin's hand and stood up. As we started to walk out Dustin said, "Thank you for giving us your time today." John nodded and a couple of the Elders said goodbye. When we shut the door behind us I heard Dustin let out a sigh. When I turned to look at him his shoulders dropped and his posture relaxed. I let out a laugh and Dustin just stared at me dumbfounded. "Really. Really. I just had one of the scariest moments I've had since I met you and your laughing." He said glaring at me. "Yeah, it's funny how you were all worked up over this. When they clearly would have approved you when you answer honestly." I said giving him a small peck on the lips. Right at that moment Mason and Echo walked by. "Eww, no one likes PDA. Gross Blaze aren't you supposed to be the Alpha of steel." Mason said with one of those childish faces. I punched him in the shoulder "Says the one who wouldn't take their eyes of Echo for a second at dinner." I told him.

"Fine, you got me there. In my defense who would be able to keep their eyes off their beautiful mate when they are with them. So Blaze you can't judge me there when you can't keep your hands off Dustin in public." Mason stated proudly. While we continued to bicker I failed to notice that Echo and Dustin had run off somewhere. "Hey, Mason do you know where Echo and Dustin went?" I asked him. "Uh, I didn't even know they were gone," Mason said. "Echo probably dragged Dustin off to somewhere to chat or explore. For the most part, Dustin should be safe." Mason informed me. "Okay, I'm trusting your word."
