6 The Tale of Mary, The Necromancer, Part Five

The question hung in the air. 

A portal opened up next to them, leading back out of the dungeon. 

Mary and Vee just kept staring at each other, though. 

The moment was only broken by Vee looking down at her own hands. The disbelief was clear in her eyes. 

"... What happened?" She asked again. 

Mary paused. 

"You died. I resurrected you." 

That disbelief was multiplied. 

"I died?" Vee asked. "I..." Mary could feel her searching through her thoughts. All Vee said after that was, "fuck."
