The long night part 1

It felt as if I had fallen into a waking dream.

my body felt like it had a mind of its own, the voice was pulling me away deeper into the woods father from safety.

yet I did not care I need to find the voice, it sounded so familiar.

"Ellie darling not much farther follow me" it whispered compelled by it's singsong nature I kept going till I was brought out into an opening in the trees, in the center of the opening was the most beautiful pond it sparkles like diamond.

the voice seems to coming from it, I slowly seeing the pond was filled with millions of rainbow colored crystals.

seeing it's magical wonder I couldn't stop myself from crouching down to touch the waters surface, and to my surprise it was warm, it feels like how I would imagine pure happiness to feel like.

"Ellie"I heard the voice right next to my ear and quickly turned towards it, behind me was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen she was practically glowing.

"who who are you" I stuttered,

"I am the queen of the fae" she spoke and her voice sounded like bells, " I've been trying to find you young queen but have been unsuccessful as of late"

"what would the queen of the realm need to speak to me for?" confusion noticable in my voice,

"I need your help there is a man in your party who is not who he seems to be"  She paused a moment "and he is a very dark creature"

she paused once more and looked around the forest, looking a little spooked

"I fear I must leave now, you have my full and sincere thanks young queen we will meet again" With that the Queen of the fae melted into mist and disappeared from sight, I could faintly hear laughter.

finally common sense returned to my mind, I was alone in the forest no one knows my whereabouts plus I am unarmed.

POV Dane

"lord Dane!? Lord Dane!?" a very panicked Ella called to me as I walked back from a patrol,

"yes Ella what's wrong?"

"sh. she's gone!" she sounded very upset

"calm down who's gone Ella??" I was starting to worry she looked like she was about to be sick.

"the crown princess she's not in her bed and I've looked everywhere she's just vanished my lord" I felt something inside me snap,

"WAKE THE GUARD!!!! THE PRINCESS IS MISSING!!!" I was shouting as loudly as I could to get everyone out and searching,

"are you FUCKING! kidding me right now" I could here lord baron angerly exiting his tent he had grabbed his sword and started yelling orders to the men.

"lord I will search the woods to the North if you will search the east I don't think she could get far"  I told him he nodded then walked off shouting to the men.

I  quickly ran through the magick barrier and began looking for broken twigs and crushed foliage.

finding the path she took was difficult but find it I did, I was very deep in fairy territory I could tell from the large out croppings of crystals, I felt horrible I should have been outside her tent I should never have left her side and if I find her un harmed I will never let her far from my eyes again.

I could see an opening up ahead of me I had an enchanted glow to it, I could also hear a beautiful voice speaking softly so I crept softy as to not frighten the owner, that when I saw her she was magnificent glowing beauty she must be a fae.

she had to have heard me approach because soon she had melted becoming nothing more than wind.

immediately my eyes locked onto a figure sitting by the lake holding their knees they looked awestruck I was going to run over to them but I couldn't move Ellie was sitting by this magical pond and her body against the glow of the lights coming from it I could swear I saw a shimmer of wings.

but the shimmering was gone when I blinked mz eyes, when I saw the princess sitting unharmed I felt relieved, but also anger.

I came to my feet and walked towards her, I was going to give her a piece of my mind, just then she looked over to me big tears gathering in her eyes just about to fall.

"just take my hand your safe now Ellie I've got you" she immediately jumped up wrapping her arms around me tightly and began to sob.

"oh Dane did you see her??!" I nodded

"wasn't she enchanting!?" I realized she was crying from happiness at meeting the fae.

"let's go everyone is worried sick".

we made it back to the camp and I alerted the other soldiers of the princess being found, everyone was relieved, everyone except lord baron.

" Dane we have an issue!!" he bellowed at me .

"what type of issue my lord?" I replied.

"the road has suddenly vanished, and the sun should have begun to rise by now" that's never good.
