Chapter 5: End of a cycle

Motto: Nothing lasts forever

I stopped at the bar to get a drink on my way to the beach.

While looking at Andrea, Garret, seated beside me, said, "Keep your eyes off those bros."

I then exhaled and asked, "What do you know?"

He sat beside me and said, "Cordell has been hanging out with her a lot over the past month. In fact he is the reason she moved from her, Meadowbrook Mansion and in with Lisa."

I drank some of my fruit punch and said, "Yea! But how did Lisa get Harry out of the house?"

Garret then said, "Well, Malcolm is friends with Mason Turner."

I then asked, "As in Mason Turner, Chairman of the Trinidadian Petroleum Corporation, that Mason Turner?"

Garret then said, "The one and only. Apparently they were college roommates. Now one phone call, Harry gets offered a US$ 5 Million per month ten year working contract; with the #1 oil drilling company in Trinidad & Tobago. He jumps at it and got it.

Malcolm arranged for a certain CEO to go on a date. Poof, he knocked her up and now they are living together. So he is living in the USVI and running the company's division there."

I then whistled and said, "Perfect plan. But these two knuckle heads don't have the brains for this much complicated work."

He then said, "Which is why I followed Malcolm, a few nights ago. Apparently they both working with Lisa. And the mastermind is your dad. But I can't find out Andrea's place in all this. She is a puzzled."

I then said, "I already know who she is. She is my sister in-law, it appears she didn't die in Cambodia."

Garret exhaled and said, "Let me guessed the lasered out tattoo on her shoulders."

I then took out my phone and showed him a picture of my sister and her wife.

As he looked at it I said, "She had that in a secret compartment. In addition, on her dresser was a wedding ring. It is highly similar to Jackie's. She is her. And with that they are probably going after, my business."

Garret then laughed and I asked, "What's so funny in that?"

He then said, "If only you would screw Cristina. All of this would be easily avoided."

I then exhaled and said, "Cristina and I are friends. There is nothing there."

"So, the taught of her in your bed, never crossed your mind," he asked as he drank his beer.

I then shocked my head and said, "Nope!"

Garret then said, "Hold up! You mean to tell me that you have a woman and Kid living in your house. You adopted her kid and she carries your name. In addition this woman knows everything about you and you would do anything for her.

You buy her stuff."

I quickly said, "No! She has an account and I bank money in it."

Garret then said, "Great! You are paying for the ass. But you aren't touching that ass."

I then chuckled and said, "Man come on. She and I were just friends. Her situation 19 years ago was complicated. I took pity on her and took her in. And Jamaica was my home town. Besides up until nine years ago, I wasn't living here.

And I need someone to watch my property. She was the best fit. So I paid her to take care of my property."

Garret then said, "Sure. That was when you were living in Paris."

"London! I told you that a million times," I quickly told him

He then said, "Whatever! But when you came home you sent her to college in Italy, to study Art & Literature. You sponsored her last book tour, three years ago. Plus you sent her to get a second degree in Hospitality at the Caribbean Food and Nutrition Institute in Panama.

She finished and returned a year ago to you. And you let her live in your house with all the care of a wife. She walks around in girls shorts, practically naked."

I then swallowed and said, "I have never looked at her like that."

Garret then said, "You are gay."

I then laughed and said, "You know better than anyone that I am not gay."

Garret then asked, "Do you going shopping with her?"

I then said, "Yes I do."

He exhaled and I quickly said, "I go shopping with her for lingerie. But, I never looked at her that way."

Garret then said, "I have seen her in a swimsuit. And she is blessed. And she only has eyes for you. Otherwise I would have ridden that ass."

I then said, "You are imaging things. She hates you. Why does she? I remember a time when you hang out with her."

"Yea! And you were jealous. Told me to stay away from her," he replied and I quickly said, "First of all I said that because I know you. You are dog. And Cristina is an emotional dedicated flower. And you guys were cool after. But she started hating you and me after the Mascaraed ball."

Garrett then drank some of his beer and said, "I take it she didn't tell you."

"Tell me what," I asked with a curious look on my face.

He then exhaled and said, "The reason why she hates me is because she kissed me at the Flair mask ball."

I smiled and asked, "Why is that bad?"

I then said, "I was wearing your Dracula outfit and she was in the Playboy Bunny outfit. I smacked her on the ass thinking it was my girlfriend, Catlin. She turned with a smile and I suddenly realized she wasn't Catlin. And I apologized. She slapped me in the face and ran."

I laughed and as I told Garret the story. I recalled it. She came home in her Playboy costume.

As I came down the stairs I asked, "Hey! You look great."

She then angrily asked, "Do I look like a slut?"

I looked in her face and said, "Cristina you are angry."

She then said, "I can't believe I liked you. And you make me revealed my body for the world. I hate you."

I then said, "Wow! I am sorry I didn't show up. I had a business deal and I sent Garret, as he is my VP."

With tears in her eyes she asked, "So did that? I never taught you would do that to me. But I am gone."

I then said, "I am sorry. For not showing up. But please don't leave. You are my, best friend. I am sorry I let you down. Please forgive me. I will agree to anything you want. If you want the house I will move out, but don't cut me out."

I begged for a while and she calmed down.

She then said, "We will stay in the pool house. And you will talk to her and you better! Be convincing."

I then said, "Yes! I will do it."

I was brought back to by Garret laughing.

I then said, "With that I became a party Playboy. And these days she treats me like a boss and maid. I use to wake up to a peepshow from her. And these days I wake up to girls, ones I must pay to leave. Remind me to fire your ass tomorrow Garret."

We then shared a moment of laughter.

Garrets then calm down and said, "Fun and joke aside. I think you should talk to her. You love her and you should do everything in your power to keep her. Come on you must make love to her."

"Well I made love to her three weeks ago," I quickly told him and he turned to me and said, "You saw her birth mark."

I then drank my juice, he slapped my shoulder and I said, "She has skills in bed. Plus she is really tight down there. Dam! I want seconds."

"So what happened? Because she still hates you," he replied to me.

I then said, "I woke up the next morning and she was gone. She was weird the next day and then we had a fight over salt."

Garret chuckled and said, "Man she hates you. But I still think you should fight for her. Come on."

"Look I told you I don't like her like you believe," I told him as I drank the juice.

He then exhaled and said, "So six months ago when we were in Seattle, at the Graves launch party, you couldn't keep your eyes off of her breasts in her evening gown."

I then quickly said, "I was not looking at her breasts! I am looking at how tight the dress was on her body. I taught her assets would tear it out."

"So you acknowledged she got assets," he quickly said.

I then swallowed and said, "OK I like her. When I see her I think about spending the rest of my life with her. But my quest for revenge has put me in bed with powerful people. These people will never let me get out of the game.

And I will not get her killed. I already have two girls on my conscience. I will not put another on it. I would rather she hates than love me and I have to bury her.

Last year when she freaked out it was a wakeup call and I realized that me becoming hers would be bad."

Garrett picked upon it and quickly said, "You were going to marry her."

I exhaled and said, "I had the whole nine yards planned out. But when she freaked and I remembered that I got the last one killed."

Garrett then said, "Rebecca's death is not your fault."

I got up and said, "She wanted to go to France and I convinced her to go to Chicago was a fight back. We went and then I got her shot. If Cristina died I would become a monster. She is a constant reminder that I am not.

So let it go."

I then got the tray with the drinks. Then went down to the guys. Christiana however came into the kitchen and Jasmine laughed.

Cristina then quickly turned and said, "That's it! What is wrong?"

Jasmine then exhaled and said, "Mom, you like dad. But you are mad at him and he has no idea why. I am tired of been the rock between you two."

Cristina then said, "You have no idea what he did."

Jasmine then said, "Mom, when dad was sick earlier this year. You stayed with him and cared for him with love. You try to hate him, but you love him. You dream about him in your bed.

I know that his playboy lifestyle is an act to make you jealous. He doesn't sleep with them, they are mostly is friends or lesbian."

Cristina then asked, "How do you know that?"

Jasmine then exhaled and said, "Because Dad is in AA, for the last year. He started a week after we moved to the pool house. In addition is Scotch are all lemonade. Not to mention he can't resist my cute face."

Cristina then said, "OK. That would explain why he doesn't get drunk."

Jasmine then said, "You love him and I am, not going to live with one of you. Don't force me to choose between you too."

Jasmine then left her in the kitchen.

Cristina then exhaled and said, "I love him. But, I love him."

She then recalled when she had flu. She was coughing in bed and I brought her chicken soup.

As I gave it to her she said, "Thank you for the soup Nick. But you should go before you get sick. Besides don't you have work?"

I then went into her bed and put my hand around her neck.

Then I said, "Garret is running the office and Samantha rescheduled my meets for next week. So I am all yours. "

"Yes but I don't want you getting sick," she quickly replied as he blew her nose.

I then said, "If you are sick I am sick. You mean a lot to me."

She smiled and then came back to. Then whipped her tears and went into the living room. With that I was chilling on the shore with my boys

As we looked at Andrea, Malcolm said, "Dam! You lucky bastard."

We all shared a laughed. With that Andrea came and made out with me.

As she sat in my lap I said, "I am happy to be a ladies man."

"I am glad you brought that up. Sana is throwing a Barbeque tomorrow evening and I was thinking we should go," replied Cordel to me.

I then said, "I am out. Monday nights are football nights for Jasmine and Cristina. And you know Jasmine is graduating in four months and then she is off to LA. So I have to put a lot of time into her."

"You sure it has nothing to do with her mom," asked Malcolm and I chuckled.

Andrea then asked, "You have a girlfriend?"

"Nope! Cristina is just my over protective business partner. She is the big sister I told you about," I told her.

Garrett then said, "She is also the mother of Nicholas's only daughter."

"And she lives with you," Andrea quickly asked.

I then said, "It is complicated. And it is not a case I want to get into."

My phone started vibrating and Andrea asked, "Baby needs feeding?"

As the guys laughed I said, "Jasmine is 19 years old and I haven't had sex with her since before Jasmine was born.

I then got my phone realized it was Ryan and answered it saying, "Ryan I didn't know you work Sundays."

Ryan the leaned on the front desk and said, "I am just filling in for a friend.

"Oh that's cool. So what up," I asked him.

Ryan then sat down and said, "Nick, where are you?

I then said, "I am at the beach. Why?"

Ryan then said, "Yow! Your mom is in surgery."

I angrily asked, "What?"

Andrea got off of me and I got up.

Ryan then said, "She suffered a miscarriage and we know she didn't fall down the stairs. Because word on the street is she went to your dad. He is here right now with an army."

I exhaled and said, "I am coming. I will be there."

I then got up and said, "Andrea I have to go. Cordell could you take her home and give Malcolm a lift?"

She then said, "Wow! I am having fun. All work will make you dull."

I then said, "Look, Cordell will take you home! I have to go, and Garret is coming with me."

She then quickly asked, "And will Cordel fuck me too?"

"I don't know. Why don't you ask him," I quickly replied as I walked away.

She then yelled, "Fuck you! You piece of shit."

I was going to hit her and Garret then held me.

He then said, "Malcolm! Get her out of her."

I then gave him my Genesis Car keys and Cordel said, "You need to watch your temper Nicholas."

I grabbed my car keys from Malcolm and held my hand up. I pressed it and unlocked the car.

I then said, "Get her stuff out of my car."

"You aren't the only one that can buy a Genesis. I can buy more than that," he replied as he walked to my car.

I laughed and Malcolm said, "That aren't funny Nicholas. You throw around money like you are the only one with it."

"Friends like you guys, who needs enemies," I told him and Garrett held me.

With that I went and threw Andrea's things on the side of the park.

I then texted Raymond saying, "Code Red. I need the team at UHWI."

Then I went and turned the car. As I came back, a car blocked me. Garret got in and I was too angry to tell him to get out so drive off, after the car moved. Garth followed me in his GMC Van.

As Andrea put her stuff in Cordell's SUV, she said, "Your boy is bit moody."

Malcolm then said, "He is never this moody. Unless his mom is hurt."

Cordell then said, "Nick is a bastard. I can't wait to take him down a notch."

With that they got in and they drove off.

While on the highway Garrett asked, "What is going on?"

I then said, "My father put my mother in the hospital. She is in surgery. Now we are moving her now."

Garret exhaled and said, "Oh shit!"

I then said, "I am going to murder him. But first I need to save mom."

Garret then texted Cristina saying, "Your mother In-law is in surgery at UHWI."

Cristina got the text and dropped the book she was reading.

She then went to Jasmine and said, "Jasmine your grandmother is in the hospital. We need to go."

Jasmine then grabbed her coat and they went to the car. With that they got into the Range Rover and drove off. Moments later Cordel pulled up at his house, with Andrea in the front seat.

He then said, "Andrea we need you."

Andrea then asked, "How should I convince a man that is a psychopath?"

Cordell then said, "Remember that we hired you to seduced him so he can sign over his conglomerate to us. After that you can kill him."

Andrea then said, "Fine. I will try him later and probably show up at his office tomorrow."

She got out and headed over to Lisa. With that I pulled into the parking lot if UHWI. 20 of my men were all there. I got out of the car and Raymond walked over.

I then asked, "You heated?"

He pulled his jacket to show me his Mac-10 and said, "Always strapped boss."

I then texted Daemon saying, "Get ready to move."

Daemon then entered the hospital. I put my gun in my waist and went in. We went in and into the elevator. A few of my guys went up the stairs. Then the elevator emerged and I came out first. Garret and 10 others stepped out behind me.

I went to the receptionist and said, "Hello Good afternoon. I am looking for my mother."

She smiled and asked, "What is your mother's name?"

I then said, "Anita McPherson-Anderson. I was told she was in surgery."

As she was about to answer Earl said, "You are not going anywhere near her. You are nothing to us."

I turned and he was in his long brown coat.

He then said, "It is good to know you still have a heart."

"And it is good to know that you still an abusive peace of shit," I told him as I turned to him.

He took a gun out of his coat pocket and the receptionist dropped to the floor.

He then said, "You might want to watch your speech."

I lift up my shirt and took out my 9 mm. With that my guys all got heated. They raised their guns.

I then said, "Death is an illusion. But if I am dying tonight I am taking you with me."

Before he answered Uncle Caleb said, "They aren't going to be any shots fired tonight."

He walked in with 5 heavily armed JDF soldiers. He was in his commander uniform and stood in the middle of the floor.

He then said, "My sister is in there. And Nick, you are my nephew and Earl, you are my brother in-law. And none of you are going to blast off here, tonight or wherever. Do I make myself clear?"

I stared at Earl and he looked at me.

With that Caleb said, "Look. Earl, you might have money to keep you out of prison. But you aren't bulletproof. And Nick, regardless of the family bond, I will put you down. So they aren't going to be no trading of bullets!"

I then used my thumbs to tell my guys to lower their weapons.

Earl then said, "You aren't got it in you."

I then said, "Pray my mother lives. Or I will burn down everything you ever own. And I will rain down on you without a warning. So Pray!"

With that I went to one side of the hospital. And he occupied the other. Uncle Caleb was in the middle between us. Cristina then came with Jasmine. She came and held me.

Then she said, "Weller I am here for you. No matter what happens."

"I am glad you are here," I told her as I held her arm.

She then asked, "Where else would I be? I need to support you and I always will."

"So will you stop yelling at me," I asked her.

She chuckled and said, "I promised. Now I will live in peace and harmony with you."

I held her and then Jasmine brought us coffee. I took it and smiled at her. She then went back to the vending machine.
