Mana Manipulation

As Kai stood up and looked at his newly received battle hammer, he came to a realization. Even though he was walking almost all day and even fought a pack of wolves, he wasn't feeling tired at all. Looking back on his painful condition from Earth, where he was sick to the point where he couldn't even walk, on Lycoris he felt energized as if he had slept the whole time and didn't just almost die.

Kai suspected it was because his energy, stamina, and everything else was full. So did this mean that if he just ate at the time when the energy needed to be refilled, he wouldn't need to sleep or rest? Did that also mean that if he had some food that he could eat in a battle, he would never get tired, becoming inexhaustible - slaying enemies left and right without needing to take a break? Of course, his health would still decrease if someone managed to hurt him, but if Kai had enough energy, that health would just go back up again!

Thinking that he found a loophole in the system, Kai happily picked up the few belongings he currently had in his possession, with his hammer slung across his shoulder and wolf-skin-sack in his free hand. He had a determined look in his green eyes as he surveyed his surroundings.

It was already early morning, and the sun certainly made everything look much nicer and more elegant. The trees didn't look so mysterious and gloomy anymore and the unfathomable mist was now gone. The forest looked much more inviting and occasionally, Kai could even hear a few birds chirping. This was what a forest should look like! Why didn't he arrive here, it would certainly be a much more pleasant welcome to a new world.

Looking around once more, Kai decided that this was a good luck omen. Taking out the fire, Kai then picked out a random direction and started to walk aimlessly, in hope of finding other humans or someone who could help him in this new place called Lycoris.

While whistling a tune as he traversed through the forest, Kai decided to level up his skills. He still had [Mana Manipulation], [Basic Appraisal], and [Basic Cooking] at level 1. He chose to start off with [Mana Manipulation] and see where it would lead him.

Focusing on his internal organs, Kai concentrated hard, squinting his eyes as he imagined what a Mana Core would look like. He pictured a pulsating sphere filled with occasional flashes of blue and sometimes purple, not knowing what else to do. He tensed his muscles as he brought his hands forward and visualized what he was trying to do. He didn't want to do anything complicated, so after a while of pondering, he decided to make a few basic shapes: triangles or squares. He could already make a sphere so perhaps he could do this as well?

After a while of nothing happening, Kai soon began to feel demotivated. He stood there for a few more seconds, thinking back to all of the famous wizards and mages from Earth. Harry Potter certainly made everything look easy. Just shout out the spell and there you go! However, unlike when Kai spoke the name of his [Lightning Bolt], now he had to put in a bit more effort when using Mana and bending it to his will.

As Kai saw the notification, his face brightened up. His smile grew even more when he looked at his hand. Cupped inside, there was a hovering triangle of pure blue.

"YES!" Kai shouted to himself. Not only had he managed to create a shape, but he also managed to level up his skill as well.

He then got an idea to try and use another one of his skills [Appraisal] on his creation. He thought of the skill name, and it was used almost instantly.

"Interesting..." Kai muttered.

As he looked intently at the system's message, he failed to notice that he had stepped into a set of nets - a trap!. The tringle in his hands dispersed into the air as Kai accidentally closed his hand into a fist. Kai began to feel extremely angry at whoever had done this. Did they know how hard Kai worked on it!? Alas, Kai could do nothing as he heard a whoosh before he was hit by a club that knocked him unconscious.
