5 Magic Awakening Exams

"About a century ago, the main source of transportation was cars. They were automotives that looked exactly like the Aero cars that we use today. The only problems with these cars were that they actually travelled on land, which took a lot of space and also polluted the environment."

"Around 50 years ago, the 'electric car was implemented to stop this. Even so, the 'electric car was still a normal car and the only exception was that it was powered by electric power which in turn reduced the amount of pollution."

"It was only after the human population grew, and the need for more space on land continued to increase that he Aero car was implemented. This was the first design of the Aero cars," a middle-aged woman said as she pointed the hologram of the 3d model that was located in front of her.

"Sigh, history is so boring!" Ace said as he looked at the holographic image being displayed. He never liked history. He felt that it was really boring and repetitive.

"Why do you hate history so much?" Aiden said chuckling at what his friend said, "Always remember…"

"It's because of them that we got here!"

Aiden and Ace said at the same time as they burst out laughing. Aiden always said this when he was trying to motivate him to learn history, and he had long gotten used to the sentence.

"Either way, it's still boring! I only come here because of one thing!" Ace said as he looked at the middle-aged woman with a glint in his eyes.

"Simp!" Seeing Ace's behaviour, Aiden couldn't help but roll his eyes. He thought that the later had given up on his crazy fantasies but it seemed that he didn't.

"Hehe," Ace just chuckled in response.

"Anyway, I am still curious... Why didn't you do the research work the headteacher had personally given to us?" Ace asked after a while.

"Hm, I was busy," Aiden lied.

"The App?" Ace continued, "Was it the app? If it was the app, then I would advice you to stop creating it. After all, look at how lean and malnourished you have become since you started to create the app!"

"In fact..." Ace said, grinning as he leaned towards Aiden, "I wouldn't even recognise you if you were placed next to a mosquito..."

"Seriously?" Aiden said as he rolled his eyes, "I am not that bony. I am fine. It's just that the app got destroyed!"

"Destroyed? How did it happen? can you tell me?" asked Ace.

******

Following that, Aiden explained into great details how his computer got destroyed. Of course, he naturally decided not to add his dream. After all, even though Ace was his best friend, he normally didn't really care about things like that. He would probably say, 'It's okay. Dreams are just dreams...'

"Oh, So you are telling me that your computer couldn't handle the build process and the exploded?"

"Yep."

"Why does this sound so suspicious?"

Ace asked as he stared at Aiden making the face that said 'You are definitely lying!'

"I dont care if you dont trust me!" Aiden said shrugging as he turned back to the holographic view.

As he looked at the holographic picture of the car, Aiden couldn't help but remember what Ace had told him in the morning. When Aiden asked about the Awakening, he didn't expect Ace to answer him quite seriously. Ace had been his best friend since they were young but today was the first time he had seen him so serious over an issue.

According to Ace, the Awakening that his parents were talking about was actually real. The awakening was an exam taken by students to know what magic power they had. The test was done during their final year exam. One could even say that it was the final year exam since it was the only test taking during the final exam.

This piece of information made Aiden realize something that nearly made him freak up. The reason why he nearly freaked up was quite simple. He just realized it. He wasn't in his home world.

Truth was, Aiden had already thought about this when he his parents first talked about. After all, he was a very good reader and he had read a lot of fantasy books which talked about something like this. However, he wasn't so sure yet. After all, even he couldn't bring himself to believe that he was in a different world.

As for now, he was sure that he was in a new world. The other reason after the subsequent events was what he saw on his way to school. As they rode on the hover board to school, Aiden had sported someone fly. Literally!

The person was actually flying. He wasn't held by anything nor was he using a hover board like they were. Ace said that the person was psychic. Someone who could use his mind to control the environment around them. This includes their own weight.

"By modifying the gravity around them, their able to modify their own weight making them lighter and able to easily use their telepathic ability to pick themselves up!" Ace said as he explained the reason why the man was flying.

After that, Aiden finally realized that he was in a new world. A world where one could use superpowers. Could he also use superpowers? A thought that had popped into Aiden's mind when he saw the man fly.

......

"Hey, Aiden!"

"Aiden!"

Aiden suddenly snapped out of his daze only to find Ace looking right at him.

"Oh yeah... Why are you calling me?"

"You suddenly entered a daze when we were talking so I thought something was wrong. Is there something wrong?"

"No. Nothing is wrong. I am okay..." said Aiden as he looked the time on his watch, "It's just about time..."

"Ah, finally! We should be getting out of this boring lesson!" Ace said as he yawned lazily. However, the moment he said that, he regretted it immediately!

......

"Hey, what are you guys talking about?"

A voice suddenly erupted from the front of the class. Hearing the voice, Aiden and Ace couldn't help but turn to its source. Standing in front of them was Mrs White, the history teacher.

"Em... em..." Ace fumbled not knowing what to say.

"We were talking about the Aero car," Aiden interjected.

"Really? " Mrs White asked domineeringly as if she was interviewing slaves.

"Yes," Aiden said, not even shaken by his teacher's threatening gaze before turning to look around.

Looking around, he spotted almost all the students in the class looking at them. a few of them were shaking their heads as if he had just made a very big mistake. Others were also snickering, happy that he had gotten into trouble.

'Sigh, this madam again! She just wants to cause a scene!' Aiden thought as he looked at the prideful face of his madam.

Miss White was the perfect definition of a prideful woman. She joined the school a few years ago and since then, she had been a nightmare to students. She was everything students hated about teachers. Stubborn, arrogant and even domineering. In fact, he was the type of teacher that treated her students like trash.

In her view, she wasn't supposed to be teaching little peasants like them since she was a master level mage only below their school's headmaster, Mr Wright. However, looking at her behaviour, Aiden didn't need to guess twice to know why she was transferred to a high school to teach even though she was a master level mage.

"Are you sure?" asked the madam again a smile formed on her face. Seeing that smile, Aiden immediately knew that they were in trouble. And just as Aiden guessed in his mind, the next set of words that came from her mouth would make on scream 'injustice' with anger!

"I don't care about that! You have your freedom of speech, even in the classroom. However, you were still disturbing my class so.... You should stay in and clean the room after school. I won't allow the robots to do it today!"

"What?!" Ace shouted, "Aren't you supposed not to punish us?". Hearing what Ace said, Aiden couldn't help but face palm. he couldn't believe that Ace was behaving so stupidly. He was only going to make things worst!

"Oh? Punishment?"

Just as Aiden guessed, the originally leaving madam, turned her sight back to Ace, "Guess you want to do more work then! Make sure to dispose the rubbish. I will make sure the robot doesn't help you!"

"What?!"
