44 Luke Had Enough

Slytherin and Gryffindor had a long history of rivalry, and friendly interactions between students from these houses were practically non-existent. However, this year, Luke Geralt, was a notable exception.

Even Gryffindor students couldn't help but be drawn to him. His distinctive green scarf and robe made him stand out in the Gryffindor common room. With his striking blond hair and handsome features, he turned the heads of many young witches.

One day, as he sat with his friends, Luke received a letter from Harry, sealed with a wax stamp filled with affection.

"So, is this a love letter for me from a Gryffindor witch?" Luke scratched his head, looking at the letter inquisitively.

Harry chuckled and replied, "Yes, she asked me to deliver it to you. I promised her."

The night before, a freckled Gryffindor witch had approached Harry, blushing, and asked for a favor. She handed him a letter and requested that he pass it on to Luke since they had become quite friendly. Harry had agreed without much thought, especially considering the girl's beauty.

As Harry handed the letter to Luke, he couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed. He had hoped that the letter was meant for him, and this realization added to the heartache he was already feeling since learning about Cho and Cedric's relationship.

Luke, on the other hand, didn't seem too interested and dropped the letter on the table. He shook his head and said, "I'm not interested in her."

Hermione, who had just arrived at the dining hall, overheard their conversation and asked curiously, "What's not interesting?"

Luke pointed at the letter and replied, "It's just a letter. By the way, Hermione, you're here quite late today, aren't you?"

It was nearly eight in the morning, and Hermione had already settled in her seat, eating breakfast and working on her homework.

Hermione noticed the envelope marked with a heart and realized that it was a love letter. She couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, suspecting that something was amiss.

"You're right; I stayed up late organizing the theoretical content for classe," Hermione explained.

Ronald couldn't help but comment on Luke's and Hermione's close relationship, saying, "You two seem inseparable!"

Ronald couldn't help but be reminded of his mischievous twin brothers.

The twins had been inseparable since birth, and wherever they went, their identical shadows would follow.

"Are you two never bored of each other?" Ronald couldn't resist asking.

"Aren't you and Harry the same way?" Miss Hermione countered with a smile.

Ronald did often feel like he was Harry's shadow, trailing him throughout the day.

"Well, we're best friends."

"So are we!" Luke chimed.

Their playful exchange continued at the dining table until it was finally time for their next class.

"Come on, Harry, let's go!" Ronald urged, eager to escape the skirmish.

Harry, whose wit was a cut above Ronald's, had had enough of Hermione's counterattacks.

Under Hermione's teasing gaze, Ronald hauled Harry to his feet, and they left in a hurry. The discomfort caused by the love letter had eased considerably.

Thinking about that, Hermione turned her attention to Luke.

"Would you like something to eat?" Hermione asked, offering him a piece of bread before they made their way to the great lawn for their next class.

It was flying lessons, and Professor Hooch had prepared brooms for each student early on. After Neville's mishap in the previous flying class, she had adopted a more cautious approach this time.

"Up!" Hermione chanted the spell at the broom lying on the ground, and to her surprise, the motionless broom suddenly soared into the air.

However, it didn't stop there. It inadvertently smacked into a Slytherin student standing in front of her.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" Hermione quickly apologized, genuinely concerned.

However, the Slytherin student responded with a vile slur, using the derogatory term "mudblood." It was clear that he wasn't ready to accept her apology.

Luke, who stood nearby, overheard the offensive language, and his pale blue eyes narrowed.

He recognized the foul-mouthed Slytherin as Baze, a pure-blood wizard who frequently spouted supremacist rhetoric in the hall.

"I suggest you watch your language," Luke warned.

"Geralt, you Slytherin traitor, don't you dare speak for her!" Baze jeered at Luke, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

In Slytherin, many wizards had branded Luke, who had close ties with Gryffindor, as a traitor.

"Slytherin traitor, really Baze?" Luke retorted without restraint. He withdrew his wand and aimed it at Baze. "Then why do I feel as if I am the Slytherin King?"

Baze, his heart sinking, didn't expect Luke to act. With Mrs. Hooch nearby, he knew that taking the initiative could lead to dire consequences.

But Luke's power was not well-known, and Baze believed he could handle Luke.

"You think I won't do it?" Luke challenged, smiling, as he took aim at Baze.

Mrs. Hooch, now having noticed the commotion, hurried over and shouted in anger, "What are you two doing?"

"I'll be reporting everything to your Head of House!" Mrs. Hooch threatened.

"Verbomachus Vexillis"

But Luke fired one of his own masterpiece at Blaze.

The spell Luke cast was a curse inspired by the tongue-tying curse. But this one not only ties the tongue but also seals the victim's ability to write or communicate through any means.

It couldn't be removed by anyone other than the caster.

As for the threat to report to Professor Snape, Luke couldn't help but find it amusing.
