Part 11 (exaltation and the calm before the storm)

Andrey turned around and saw General Raevien, as he saw the man behind him he quickly kneeled down and show respect to the General.

The great General lift Andrey and said with a big smile "Young man there's no need for formalities I should be the one to show respect to your bravery and accomplishment today, because of you many lives are safe and in the top of that you killed the Vice commander of the demons all by your self".

Andrey feels a little embarrassed because of the praise given to him by a well known General so he casually replied "no need sir I'm just doing my job as a warrior of the kingdom".

The great General started laughing and tapped Andrey in his back then he shouted "it's our victory today so we must go back to the kingdom and celebrate for our big victory".

Everyone shouted with all their might agreeing to the great General.

Every soldiers and warriors happily march toward the kingdom and as gates started to open a loud noise of praises welcome them. All of them march with tears as they hear everyone in the kingdom thanking them and appreciating their sacrifice in the war.

As soon as they reach the castle ground everyone that participated in the war are ask to remain and then a loud trumpet sound began to resonate the whole area it's the sign that the king is coming out to the public.

The King greet everyone with so much joy and said "welcome my brave warriors and soldiers the whole kingdom thank you all for your courage and sacrifices in this war, because of this victory we can now rest assured that human kind will remain in this land. We have will have a big party tonight for our victory celebration and everyone in the kingdom is invited. "

Everyone shouted with joy while hugging and praising their comrades in arms then they start chanting praise to the king and the kingdom "long live the king and glory to our kingdom".

As the king turned around to head back inside the castle General Raevien followed him to report all the details regarding their battle and after finishing his report the king start laughing and said "is that so a young man killed the Vice commander of the demons single handedly and possess great magical power how fascinating , we must reward that boy in tonight's feast."

Meanwhile Andrey and Jessy headed home to rest and as they open the door a warm smile and hug came to Andrey from his sweet younger sister Carmela. Carmela is fifteen years old beautiful and cheerful with a sweet and gentle smile. After their parents died Andrey start working as a warrior to provide and take care of his younger sister.

"who is he brother? " Carmela asked Andrey so he began to introduce Jessy to her but he didn't tell her the truth about Jessy because he knows that his sister won't believe that Jessy is a sword and will start teasing him so he came up with falls background to introduce Jessy.

"Carmela this is Jessy he is my comrade his whole family died in one of the raids of the demons and he has no place to go so I invite him to stay with us".

Carmela quickly grab Jessy's hands and welcome him "I'm very sorry for your lost your free to live here as long as you want" then she smile. Jessy began blushing and thanking Carmela while looking away.

Andrey start to laugh as he teas both of them, Carmela began to be conscious of her action and quickly let go of Jessy's hands then punch her brother in the stomach while blushing.

After that the three of them start laughing like there's no tomorrow.

Then the evening party began Andrey bring Carmela to the celebration along with Jessy. The whole venue is filled with laughter's and dancing it is truly a joyful evening to everyone.

But in the middle of the party the music suddenly stop and the king stand in front of everyone "my beloved warriors, soldiers and citizens it is truly a wonderful evening tonight, we had a rough battle and many of our people lost their lives but we manage to win and not only that one of the strongest demon was slain by one of our brave warrior Sir Andrey please step forward and join us."

Carmela was shocked hearing his brothers name called by the king and start shaking Jessy while asking him if what she heard was true but Jessy can't answer her.

Andrey began to walk towards the king and kneel in front of the king to give respect. The King began his praise to the young warrior and promised him a good compensation for his good work for his kingdom.

Meanwhile Princess Mae the second daughter of the king stare on Andrey with admiration and she feels like love at first sight. Princess Mae is one of the most beautiful is the kingdom but she never accept anyone to be her fiancé and as far as the King's concerned she can marry anyone that she likes.

As soon as the king ended his speech everyone in the party began chanting Andrey's name. Everyone seems very happy except for some who see Andrey's accomplishment as their failure.

The day after the party a carriage park in front of Andrey's house then a man knocked and ask "is this sir Andrey's house?" Carmela open the door and answered the man's question with a smile "yes sir but my brother is currently outside to gather some woods but you can wait for him inside if you like."

But the man didn't respond to her and head back to the carriage and talk to someone inside before he came back and said "sorry for the inconvenience my master happily accept your offer."

Then Princess Mae walk towards Carmela and thank her but as soon as she realize that it's the princess she quickly kneel down and show respect to her. Princess Mae lift her up and gently ask her if she could come in so Carmela quickly escort the princess inside there house and offer a drink.

After an hour Andrey and Jessy came back home and as they approach their house they can't stop wondering about the carriage outside. When they went inside they were shock to see the princess chatting with Carmela so Andrey ask her "sis how long did you become friends with the princess?"

Carmela started to laugh and said "silly brother the princess didn't came for me she was waiting for you we just have a lot of fun talking about girl stuff"

Andrey was shock and talk to himself "what could be the reason for the princess look for me not to mention go personally she could just send a servant if she want to ask me for a mission, maybe last night I'm so drunk I offended her so now she came to punish me."

Andrey's face became gloomy and sweaty as he look on the princess pretty face but the princess notice it and start to casually laugh "don't worry I'm not here to punish you I'm just here to talk to you"

After hearing the princess words Andrey feels relief and smile "what can I do for you my princess?"

The princess smile and answer him with a gently and sweet tone "you don't need to call me princess just call me Mae, do you know a quiet place where we can talk privately?".

Andrey knows a beautiful spot where they can talk but he can't bring Princess Mae because she can be targeted there by an assassin so he ask the princess if she's willing to change clothes as an ordinary lady so she can come with him. Princess Mae agree but the man accompanying her refuse "my lady I cannot allow you to wear commoners clothes and also I cannot allow you to wonder alone with this man."

Princess Mae smiled and came up with a solution "why don't you change your clothes to so you can come with us?" the man didn't refuse in her suggestion and ask Andrey if he can lend his some clothes to wear.

After changing Andrey, Princess Mae and her servant goes to a hill not far away from Andrey's house.

The servant sit from a distance while they sit under a tree to continue their conversation.

"My princess may I now ask why you came?"

Princess Mae put a sour face and put a sharp look towards Andrey "I told you not to call me princess!"

Andrey began to apologize and said " I'm sorry princess but I cannot do what you ask I'm anyone hears me calling only your name they would think that I'm disrespecting you or worst they will think that we have a relationship."

Princess Mae smile and said "okay but call me Mae when were alone or else I'll ask my father to cut your head off"

Andrey's face became terrified as he hears the princess threat but the princess began to laugh as he notice his expression "it's just a joke but promise me that you won't call me princess when no one is around"

Andrey smile and agree to the princess then they continue chatting until the sun began to set then Princess Mae stand "what a beautiful sunset it's getting late I must be going now."

Andrey look up to the princess and gaze in her beauty he was mesmerized and couldn't find a word to describe what his felling and as he watch Princess Mae walk towards her servant he stand up ask "princess why do you came? You didn't give me an answer earlier"

Princess Mae turned around and smile before she answer "I'm just here to know you."

Andrey feels a fast beating in his chest as he look at the beautiful princess, her beautiful hair wave because of the air and the color of the sunset makes her beauty shine more he can't find a word to compliment her beauty but after she turned around he said "please let me walk you back to the house" and the princess only answer him with a beautiful smile.

Because of the distraction Andrey failed to realize that there's someone spying on them from a distance watching their every move. As soon as the spy seen that Andrey and the princess walk towards the house he began to retreat and report to his master.
