Chapter 10

After Derek was stripped of his clothes and got his sign, the two knights assigned to him, grabbed him by his arms and dragged him outside. Derek tried to do everything he could in his rage to get free, but it was no use. 3 hours of struggling latter Derek finally calmed down a bit and realized that all the people in the area were looking and making fun of him. Now he wanted nothing more as to leave this place as fast as he could. But of course he tried to take the wrong way and the knights needed to tell him in which direction he must go to leave this kingdom and get back to his own.

I felt sorry for Derek, even though he treated me badly. Jack couldn't understand why I felt this way, but he accepted it and asked me what I wanted to do from now on.

"I'm not sure" I said "I think this is a nice kingdom and most likely I will stay here. But first I need to recover completely or I will not be able to work. Would it be okay if I could trouble you even longer, to look after me. At least till I can walk again and if course I will do everything I can to repay your kindness."

"There is no need to ask me that" Jack told me "Even if you wanted I would never would let you leave in your condition. And I would love it if even after you got better, you would stay with me."

"But I would be a burden to you and if you would let me life here even after I recovered, I would not know how to repay you..." I started saying.

"Why would you be a burden to me" he asked "I never thought of you as a burden, I was happy that I finally had someone I could talk to. Someone who didn't judge me for my status, but someone who showed respect to everyone. Someone who would talk to me like a friend and not someone they could never talk to as an equal. You already repayed me for what I did for you. If you would just continue to be a friend then I would be happy to do everything I can to help you."

I was surprised by what he said, but before I could reply to him he already ordered Lucia to bring me back to my room. The last thing he said was "It must have been a hard day for you, Lucia bring Miss Eve to her room so that she can rest." and with those words he left.
