Chapter 9: Talent Use

Alan, the chief of the emissaries sent by the king, did not forget his mission even though he was arrogant. He observed that the elder's laughter seemed to contain a bit of mockery. He realized that something was wrong. He knew Edan; he knew that he had lived for more than 1,000 years. He wouldn't have laughed if he didn't have something to rely on knowing the threat from the humans to the elves.

Grandfather Edan said, "Sorry, I remembered something funny," smiling, looking anything but sorry.

Alan, assuming his role as the king's envoy, said, "We're also sorry for our direct arrival without notifying you, but our king noticed that maybe the Elf kingdom was in some dangerous situation, so he insisted that we arrive as soon as possible to help our Elven friends."

Grandfather Edan replied, pretending to be surprised, "Oh, something important? I don't seem to know. Could it be that the humans have made an important discovery?"

Alan folded, "Things are actually like that; Princess Mangou, thanks to her talent, was fighting with the king," seeming to leave a message to Edan so that he could understand that the princess was already able to fight with the king. Edan did not hide his surprise on his face. Alan continued, "She, however, felt something was wrong here, the king being worried about his allies the elves, so he sent us to know if something had happened."

The old Edan was surprised; if it had been three days ago, before the awakening talent of Simon, he would have been terrified at the thought that the princess was already able to fight with the king, but now, he replied after regaining his composure, "The princess has honored her talent, it seems. I don't really know what she's talking about; maybe she's talking about the awakening of my grandson's talent?"

Alan thought that Edan just didn't want to talk about what had happened; wanting to embarrass the old man who seemed not to want to answer their demands, he said, "It's surprising that it coincides with the awakening of your grandson's talent, or has he awakened an S+ Rank talent?" with a bit of mockery.

Old Edan sighed, then said, "Unfortunately not." Alan, who thought that this visit would not get an answer, but not everyone can embarrass the Elf Doyen, when old Edan added with a tone of "you can't understand my suffering," "He awakened an SSS+ Rank talent."

Alan instinctively said, "Pardon?" Old Edan, who seemed to be teasing him, repeated to him, "you didn't understand? I said that unfortunately, my grandson, Simon, awakened an SSS+ Rank talent. To be more precise, it's the Eye of Wisdom."

Alan understood that the old man had played him, not getting angry as expected, but thinking of an important question: now that the elves have an awakened with an SSS+ Rank talent, isn't the advantage they gained thanks to Princess Mangou going up in smoke?

During this time, while old Edan was discussing with the Human envoys, Simon was thinking about his future. In this world, a person's status is determined by the number of stars they have.

This doesn't mean the more stars you have, the stronger you are, but rather the more stars you have, the more things you are capable of.

It wasn't surprising then that a person with only one Star could defeat someone with more stars, like for example, a person who acquired a B- Rank talent called Thunder Speed, only developed in the combat domain, then obtained two stars, one because he could instantly destroy a building and the other because he could use 4th circle magic.

He fought someone with a higher rank talent than his, B+ Rank Healing Light, capable of healing the wounded, who had obtained three stars, one for healing, one for regenerating lost organs, and the last one for using 4th circle magic. So, it's understood that their skills are not in the same domain.

The talent rank and the number of stars of the person do not determine how strong you are, they just determine the number of things you are capable of. To obtain a star, you must pass an exam at the Star Tower, where the judges are both elves and humans to ensure impartiality, as stars are the main sign of the entire continent.

As for Simon's talents, if they were in the hands of a normal individual of this world and not a transmigrator like him, he wouldn't really know what to do with the EX Mystic Creation since the talent has not yet been developed to the point where the holder can create whatever he wants. For now, he can only create simple things without any magical effect, like a simple arrow or gold.

Although it may seem extraordinary to create gold or an arrow easily, let's not forget it's an EX Rank talent. As for the SS+ Rank talent Wisdom Eye, it already seems useful since he can now slow down everything he sees by 15 times and allows him to see one second into the future, which seems truly extraordinary. Although a second may not seem like much, it can change everything in a life or death battle.

Simon also has visions from time to time, sometimes from the past and sometimes from the future. He saw the arrival of the human envoys before they even arrived. However, although Mystic Creation is not yet developed, the talent can allow Simon, who comes from the modern world, to make the Agadez Kingdom stronger than the human kingdom in at most two years and make the kingdom more modern than in his previous life in just 50 years.

Simon hasn't forgotten that smartphones, the internet, weapons, and nuclear and atomic bombs were all made from ordinary materials. Giving a student who studies technology the power to create all the materials he wants is simply crazy, as he will end up creating something extraordinary, especially since he won't have to worry about the lack of materials.

Simon has already thought of things he can do to improve the kingdom, such as creating modern schools equipped with advanced technologies to offer quality education to all the kingdom's children. Moreover, he could develop advanced communication means, such as telecommunication networks and computer systems, to connect the inhabitants of Agadez with the rest of the world.

He could also build modern roads, strong bridges, and innovative transportation systems to facilitate the movement of inhabitants and trade with other kingdoms. Simon also thinks he can use his ability to create durable materials and environmentally friendly technologies to protect the kingdom's natural resources and promote sustainable development.

Simon has already thought of the various ways he can use his talent to become powerful and make the kingdom as powerful as possible.
