Chapter 5: Realms Collide: The Awakening of Simon

Different from elven society, human society has agriculture and trade as its economic pillars, with fertile lands surrounding the capital and trade routes extending across the kingdom.

Human society is hierarchical, with a monarchy at the top. Humans value ambition and progress, often at the expense of their environment. Education and talent are highly respected, with magic schools and military academies training the next generation. Festivals and tournaments are common, celebrating both magical and physical feats. Human magic is more diverse than that of the elves but often considered less refined.

It includes witchcraft, alchemy, and divination, with a strong emphasis on military and utilitarian use. Humans have also developed a form of rudimentary technology, mainly simple mechanisms and machines aiding in construction and agriculture. According to what Simon understood, historical tensions exist between Agadez and Diffa, such as the sudden disappearance of the elven convoy heading to the human kingdom for the anniversary of the Human princess.

The beginning of their conflicts was primarily due to how humans treat the environment. Fragile agreements and peace treaties have been put in place, but mistrust persists. Cultural and trade exchanges take place, although limited, allowing for some mutual understanding and appreciation to slowly develop.

As for Simon, who is now a young boy, he has been anxious lately because unlike humans who awaken their talents at four years old, elves, due to their affinity with nature, meaning quality, take longer and only awaken their talents after turning six.

In this universe, elves possess an innate sensitivity to magic and can perceive the magical energies emanating from individuals. During the talent awakening ceremony, elf sages and priests will use their connection with magic to detect and identify the specific phenomen when Simon is awakening his talent in which they will share to the Pilar of determination, which is different from humans because awakening magical talents can be a bit more complex for them.

In some human cultures, special rituals are often organized to detect and celebrate the awakening of talents in children. These rituals may involve tests of magical skills, observations of unusual behaviors, or signs of sensitivity to magic.

Some humans are born with obvious magical abilities, while others may have talents that manifest later in life, often in response to stressful or emotionally charged situations. In any case, humans can benefit from teaching and training provided by magical mentors to more fully develop their potential.

Simon will have to go to the "Sanctuary of Awakened Souls" in four days, especially remembering that a human had awakened two extraordinary talents of SSS+ and S+ ranks eight years ago. He can't help but panic; after all, no Elf knows humans better than he does. They can be kind, but they can also be creatures that even a demon fears to see in their hearts.

He knows that if the elves fail to produce a fighter the size of her when she grows up, humans will eventually destroy the elves to take control of the continent.

[Four days later]

The glow of the setting sun filtered through the emerald leaves of the ancient trees, bathing the sacred sanctuary of the Awakening Souls in golden light.Simon was then guided by the wise elves. He was led to the heart of the sanctuary.

Simon stood at the threshold of the sanctuary, his heart pounding with excitement and apprehension mingled. At his side, a retinue of wise elves and priests accompanied each elf who would awaken their talent, ready to guide the young boy through the ritual of awakening his talents. Before the ceremony began, Simon had been invited to meditate in the lush gardens surrounding the sanctuary.

The air was imbued with the scent of wildflowers and the singing of birds, creating an atmosphere of tranquility and serenity. The wise elves began an invocation of the ancestors, calling upon the spirits of the ancients who had awakened an S-rank talent in the past to join them in the sacred ritual since the elf population is very few, every elf awakening his talent is important.

The sacred altar shone with a mystical glow. He stood before the altar, his heart pounding in his chest as the priests began the ritual of awakening. Finally, as the magical energies reached their peak, Simon felt an explosion of power within himself.

His senses sharpened, his vision cleared, and he felt magic coursing through his veins.Simon felt a mystical energy filling the air, vibrating every fiber of his being.

He suddenly sees that the world seems to have changed around him; he sees groups of people, more precisely a group of elves whom he doesn't seem to recognize any of them. This group seemed to be walking when they were suddenly sucked into something that seemed to be a spatial rift.

The most amazing thing about all this is that Simon recognizes the other end of the rift as it is his university; it was a laboratory that was destroyed before his reincarnation. The official reason was that a scientific experiment error occurred, and now it seems that things are not as simple as that.
