Negotiation

No one dared to speak a word, Victor looked at Mia who was crying profusely looking inside the Intensive Care Unit where her husband is lying with every possible pipe inserted into his body. He felt a bit bad to see a young girl's husband fighting for his life.

"Calm down.. calm down" he tapped lightly on Mia's shoulders.

"You got all the required files right? Go through them and analyze his situation, put the best on his case. We need everything perfect, if needed bring specialists from abroad. He is important to me, hope you get that" Victor warned all the doctors assembled over there.

"Let's go" Victor tapped Mia.

"Can I once go inside?" Mia requested looking into Victor's eyes.

"She can't stay for more than a few minutes" the doctor replied when Victor looked at them for permission.

Victor kept looking at every action of Mia without blinking. Mia walked inside the Intensive Care Unit taking small steps, standing opposite her husband who is breathing with the support of ventilator tears slipped down from her eyes.

"Finally I got to get you treated by the specialists, but the price I am going to pay for this is quite heavy. I have no idea what I would be signing to, please get well soon. I hate living these days" Mia cried standing beside her husband who slipped into coma 6 months back.

When she heard a tap on the door she walked back looking at her husband for one more time.

Victor's lips curled into a smile looking at Mia who is selflessly loving her husband, though he didn't intend to his mind drew the comparison between Hazel and Mia.

"Drink this, you might be hungry" Victor passed her a glass of orange juice. For the first time, Mia gulped that down without any further protest.

"Are you okay?" Travis questioned when Mia settled down, to which she just nodded.

"I had no idea that you belong to Royal Family, but I won't apologize to you because a mistake is a mistake who ever does that irrespective of their status," Mia said in one go looking down.

Victor looked at the confident girl sitting before her who has nothing, yet doesn't get intimidated to stand strong and speak the truth without worrying about the opposite people and their power.

"Look Mia, you might have understood by now how helpless I was. Now hear me out, my wedding is approaching in a week and Hazel Wesley, my fiancee was unavailable right now. No matter what we can't extend it and I want you in her place until she returns. You will get everything you want, your husband will be treated by the best ones and you will get whatever money you want. You will just have to learn a few Royal Etiquettes and Hazel's mannerisms. Don't worry about them, you will be able to catch that soon. All you need to do is get married to me by taking the place of Hazel, and this matter should stay a secret between the three of us" Victor said everything in one go.

Mia who heard everything he said was unable to say anything. She knew it is not easy as it sounded, accepting what he said alters her whole life. It is something she never even imagined in the wildest of her dreams.

"It will be tough" Mia stammered.

"For sure it will be, but I will be beside you and you will have personal bodyguards for your safety, you don't have to worry. I will make sure you won't have to go through all the things. I promise" Victor assured.

"Come on Mia don't think too much, it's our luck that you don't have a family to whom you are answerable, all you have is a bedridden husband and now your cooperation with us can revive his life. You know this is a wonderful option for you, don't overthink. We will be protecting you" Travis too assured Mia who was looking petrified.

"What happened to your fiancee? Where is she?" Mia posed the question to which Victor had no answer.

"That's confidential, but she will be back soon. You don't have to worry. Once she returns I will shift you away to another country along with your husband providing you with everything, which will be enough for you to lead a peaceful life" Victor negotiated.

"So Ms. Jannison" Victor smiled sitting on the table lying opposite to her.

"Actually, it's Mrs. Jannison" Mia corrected, which shattered every hope of Victor. His smile came to a standstill and earth slipped away from his feet.

The ray of hope he found started vanishing away in thin air.

"Are you serious? I mean are you really married?" Travis came running to Mia.

Mia who was observing the sudden changes in the handsome duo was unable to understand anything.

"Why are you so interested in my life? What is wrong with you people? Let me go," Mia stood up from her seat but Travis pushed her back onto the sofa.

"First answer our questions" Travis ordered pressing Victor's shoulder in assurance.

"Why should I answer you? Neither do I know you nor I work for you, I am in no way answerable to you people," Mia roared.

"Woman, hear me out. I am being patient with you, it would be better if you don't try testing my patience. Answer the questions. Are you really married?" Victor's voice was enough to scare Mia. She managed to give a single nod looking down.

"I don't think she is saying the truth, she doesn't have any ring" Travis pointed towards Mia's empty hand.

"Just because I don't have any ring it, that doesn't mean I am not married. There exist people who don't adorn a ring and there exist people who can't afford it" she murmured the last part.

"Her ring is not what we should be caring about right now. Who is your husband? What does he do?" Victor questioned maintaining his calm even though emotions are boiling up inside him.
