Vol. 6 - Chapter 6: The Town Lost in Time.
Part 1 – In a certain house.
"Where am I?" Uriel says trying to move but he feels his chest heavy, he opens his eyes and is surprised to see that Johanna is on top of him. However, Johanna was dressed as a "Saloon Dancer". She is wearing a black dress, with the bottom part of the skirt red and goes down to the length of her knee. She has black flower pattern leggings. She has a pair of long gloves; her hair has curls and flowers that hold her hair. He eyes are painted red as well as her mouth.
Johanna wakes up looking at Uriel and says; "Good morning, it seems you woke up, Uriel."
"Johanna what happened, where are we and why are you wearing that?" Uriel asks Johanna trying to stand up, but he feels pain. He uncovers sheets and sees his entire body covered in bandages.
"Calm down Uriel, I will explain." Johanna says as she helps him get up and opens the window for him to see. Uriel is shocked on what he was seeing; the town they were in was different. People were dressed as cowboys and ranchers from the "Old West" Era. The roads were made of dirt instead of pavement. Horses were passing by with carriages and wagons; the town was full of people instead and not abandoned.
"Johanna where are we?" Uriel asks nervously as he looks outside.
"This is the town of Hawikuh, but we are in the year of 1885." Johanna replies to Uriel leaving him in shock. Uriel sits down in the bed worried:
"How did this happen? Johanna, did I die or something?"
"Well you did pass out on the car, after that we were getting away from that man, suddenly after we left town the car stopped working. The boy took us to a cave. I perform first aid kit and the girl ran away from the cave. The boy began to chase her." Johanna explains to Uriel, he grabs Johanna´s shoulder and says:
"Where are the children? Why did you let them go?"
Johanna lowers her head and says; "I had no choice Uriel, you were bleeding and dying, I needed to treat you, plus we don´t even know nothing about the children, it has nothing to do with us."
Uriel gets angry with Johanna for those words, he lets go of her, stands up and begins to get dress. Johanna looks at Uriel and asks:
"Where are you going?"
"To find those kids, Coyote is after Baishan, I NEED TO PROTECT HIM." Uriel replies with little energy because of his injuries. Johanna gets angry with Uriel, grabs him and throws him into the bed. She sits on top of him grabbing both of his arms.
"Calm down, you idiot, you don´t even have the strength to move me, yet you want to defeat a man who nearly killed you in your Charro Form?" Johanna shouts to Uriel. Uriel realizes about the situation and stops struggling. Johanna smiles and says:
"Well it looks like you calmed down, now let me explain how we got ourselves in this year." Uriel nods at Johanna in sign of agreement and Johanna continues to explain:
"After the kids left, I treated your wounds, the sun went down, however the moon was different, it was actually a Lunar Eclipse that was happening, and a red light illuminated the town. I passed out after seeing the Eclipse, after that when I woke up I saw the town once again but the way you are seeing it. I carried you in my back in order to return to the town, after that I met with a woman that is the owner of this house. She helped me take care of you. In order to gain information I got a job being a Saloon Dancer."
Uriel realizes that Johanna work hard to help him, he smiles at her saying:
"Thank you, I´m sorry you had to carry me, I am still too weak, please forgive me, I will pay you back somehow okay."
Johanna smiles at him and says; "Well there is something I want." Uriel puts a clueless face; Johanna lowers herself and kisses Uriel in his lips. Uriel´s face gets red, as he is speechless. Johanna touches her lips with her fingers and says:
"Now we are even, I heard that you kissed Katsumi in the volcano. I wanted to try your lips myself." Uriel´s head begins to blow steam, as he cannot find a word to say.
(KNOCK, KNOCK)
"Hello, dear it looks like you are feeling better, I brought some homemade stew." A woman comes into the room; she looks like an older woman. She has white hair, wrinkles in her face; she is wearing long white dress with long sleeves.
"Thank you, for letting us stay, my name is Uriel." Uriel says as he gets up of the bed. The old woman gives him some cowboy clothes and replies:
"This are some old clothes that my son used to wear, my name is Josie."
Uriel puts on his clothes; he has a blue-buttoned shirt, some tight cowboy pants, some boots, a light brown vest and a bandanna around his neck, and a cowboy hat.
"They fit perfectly, my son used to wear those clothes a long time ago before he was killed in the war." Josie says to Uriel, he looks down and replies; "I´m sorry"
"Don´t worry dear my son is resting in peace now." Josie replies with a smile. Johanna begins to walk as she says:
"Well then I´m heading to work, take care cowboy." Johanna winks at Uriel causing him to blush. Josie and Uriel go down to the living room. Uriel walks slowly as he feels pain in his back feeling weak. They sit down at the sofa. Josie and Uriel talk about the ways the types of food they eat. Uriel thinks of a way that they could return to their time.
A door opens and a little girl runs screaming: "GREAT GRANDMA, WE RETURN FROM OUT TRIP." Uriel looks at the girl, it was Cassidy who enter the house, she runs and hugs Josie.
"Oh my, welcome home dear, I´m happy to see you." Josie says with tears in her eyes, Cassidy looks at Uriel and says:
"Uriel, you are alright." Cassidy runs and hugs Uriel; Josie looks at her and asks:
"You know him dear?"
Cassidy nods and replies: "Yes, he bought me something to eat 2 days ago." Josie smiles looking at Uriel and expresses her gratitude: "Thank you so much dear, you see my great granddaughter is always running off, and sometimes she forgets to eat."
"No problem, it was my pleasure to help." Uriel responds with a smile.
"By the way dear, where is your grandpa?" Josie asks Cassidy, at that moment a certain man enters the house saying:
"Honey, I´m home" Uriel turns around and stops up looking with fear that the man was Coyote himself.
"Welcome back dear I miss you so much" Josie says to Coyote, he hugs her and Cassidy.
"By the way, we have a guest here, his name is Uriel," Josie says to Coyote, Coyote looks at Uriel and smiles at him:
"So then, it is a pleasure to meet you Uriel." He extends his hand, Uriel responds in extending his hand; the two make a hand shake where Coyote sees that Uriel lost his strength. Uriel looks nervous as he thinks:
"What should I do? If I fight him here, I may end up hurting these two, calm down Uriel, you must think."
"Well then how about we eat some dinner, Uriel you are our guest tonight." Josie says to Uriel, he looks at her and smiles saying: "Of course, thank you very much."
At that moment, Uriel is about to walk to the kitchen, Coyote grabs his shoulder and says:
"Don´t make a scene in front of my wife and granddaughter, we will talk after dinner." Uriel looks at him serious and nods at him.
Part 2 – Saloon
In the "saloon" which is a place with cowboys go and drink alcohol, play cards, and smoke. The place is a large room, filled with dancers as well. Music plays as some cowboys watch the dancers on stage, some cowboys even dance around the stage with the girls. Johanna is accompanying some cowboys playing poker. She is acting as an escort for them, filling drinks and lighting their cigarettes as they play poker.
"Aww, man I can´t wait for the battle tomorrow against the Indians." A cowboy says as he drinks liquor. Johanna looks at him and says seductively; "What battle against the Indians?"
"Well, our sheriff and mayor Sundance Bill said that tomorrow as the sun goes down we will assault those Indians in the lake in order to find a treasure. "The other cowboy says as he smokes his cigarette. Johanna sits in his lap and asks the cowboy passing her hand in his face; "What treasure is the mayor speaking off?"
"W-W-Well the golden key, the one that opens all doors, at least that is what the mayor said."
"Shut up that is confidential you idiot." The third cowboy says pointing a gun at the other. Johanna stands up and says; "Well guys calm down, just finish you poker game."
"Shut up you tramp, you´re probably a spy." The cowboy says pointing his gun at her. The other cowboy throws the table spilling all the cards and coins, he takes out his gun and says; "How about we have a little fun."
Johanna sees the opportunity and punches the cowboy grabbing his gun; she looks at the other and shoots him in the chest:
(PIU, PIU)
Suddenly a large brawl begins in the saloon, everyone fights with everyone, and cowboys shooting one another, the woman begin to run. Johanna finds the opportunity to sneak from behind to escape, the man continue their rampage at the saloon, people fly around and one cowboy falls from the second floor. Johanna begins to walk slowly thinking:
"So, the golden key is in the lake ehh, I must tell Uriel."
Johanna arrives at the house and sees through the window that Uriel was with Coyote. She stops herself from knocking and thinks to herself:
"Well then time to go and check the mayor´s office, good luck Uriel." She begins to walk the mayor´s office as Uriel continues to eat dinner with Sundance. In the outskirts of the town, El Muerto stands in a middle of corpses of Indian people.
He stabs one Indian causing him to bleed, El Muerto proceeds in asking; "Where is the key?"
"I don't know, please spare my life." The Indian says to El Muerto, he takes out his swords from the Indian´s body and cuts his head. El Muerto begins to walk to the hills as he says:
"Tomorrow I will get that key, Aleister is counting on me."
