Vol. 5 - Chapter 11: The SIA Doctor: Johanna Gomez

Part 1 – Ministry of San Juan

"I hope they can help my mother." Valerie says while she eats much meat. Abril and Mariana look at Valerie with poker faces. She looks at them and says:

"What, I eat when I'm nervous."

"It's okay, don't worry, I'm sure Uriel can handle this" Abril says while she begins to eat meat as well.

"I wonder how Daniel is doing." Mariana asks Valerie who looks worry.

Daniel is locked up in his room ever since he returned from the hospital. Fabiola goes to his room and knocks saying:

"Daniel here is your dinner, please eat something."

Daniel has no response; she sits in the door and says: "I know that it is hard for you, you lost your father and your mother is in critical condition, did you know that my parents died in that earthquake 8 years ago?"

Daniel, who was sitting with his desk with his face down, raises his head as he heard what Fabiola said. Fabiola continues to explain: "On that faithful night, my parents were caught in a fire caused by the earthquake and died. I was alone until Sister Carolina found me in the streets. From that day on, I have been here; everything looked fine as Melissa thought me how to be an educated woman until the Chupacabras took her. I am hopeless right, but you still have your brothers, your mother is still alive and you got us as well."

Fabiola cries as she lowers her head into her knees. Daniel opens the door and pats her head saying:

"Weren't you supposed to cheer me up?"

Fabiola stands up frowning with her face red. Daniel hugs her saying: "Thank you!"

Both of them go to the dining room, Daniel was carrying his plate, the sisters push Fabiola back whispering: "Hey, why are you with Daniel, we thought you liked Uriel, are you going to become our love rival?"

Fabiola blushes and says: "I-It's not like that."

"So, feeling better you cry baby?" Valerie says smiling. Daniel smiles at her saying: "I think the only cry baby is you."

Valerie hugs Daniel saying: "It wasn't your fault" She hits him in the head saying: "man up!!"

Daniel looks at her and says: "Of course."

Part 2 – Rio Grande Hospital.

Johanna takes out a strange device; the device has a form of a cell phone with one tube sticking out. In the tip of the tube, there are two miniature needles.

"This is an Esper tool use to extract blood called Blood Remover; I will use this to help your mother however I don't guarantee she will live, that is why this old lady will help us."

Uriel looks clueless and Griselda says: "You want me to use my healing at the same time right?"

"You are correct, this is going to be a gamble, Uriel so what do you say?" Johanna asks Uriel. He lowers his head and says: "Please save her."

Johanna smiles and says: "Very well, I will need you and Katsumi to hold her I will begin immediately.

Johanna activates the tool and slowly sticks the two needles into Maria's infected arm. Uriel and Katsumi hold her, and Sister Griselda begins to chant: "Señor por favor cura a tu hija"(lord please cure your daughter.) Light begins to shine from her hands. Johanna begins to extract the poison.

(BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP)

Maria´s pressure begins to increase, Maria begins to move out of pain, Uriel holds her hand saying: "Come on MAMA, I am right here, please hold on."

(BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP)

The markings in Maria's body begin to disappear, Griselda and Johanna are sweating as Maria moves around, Uriel is crying as he puts pressure. Katsumi closes her eyes saying: "Please Maria, don't die."

Johanna finishes extracting the poison. Sister Griselda puts more power into healing.

(BEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPP)

Maria's heart stops, Uriel begins to cry on top if her saying: "MAMA PLEASE DON'T LEAVE US MAMA" Katsumi and Griselda close their eyes to pray. Johanna tries to reanimate her pushing her chest for her to breathe. Maria is not responding, suddenly Uriel hears his father's voice saying:

"Don't worry hijo, she will live"

In Maria's mind, she is walking along a dark road, she thinks to herself: "Where am I?"

Images of her past and present begin to flow as she looks around. Suddenly she sees Roberto.

"RRRROOOOOBBBEEERRRTTTOOO" Maria screams as she hugs him saying: "I miss you so much." Roberto begins to touch her butt saying: "I miss you too."

(BBBOOOMMM)

Maria hits Roberto in the head saying: "PERVERTIDO."

"AY Amor, you haven't change ehh" Roberto says to Maria who is blushing and replies:

"Well you are still a pervert."

Roberto and Maria walk along the dark path. Maria looks at Roberto saying: "AM I GOING TO DIE?"

"HAHA don't be stupid, it's too early for you die, I need you to be alive, and something big is going to happen. Please support Uriel, I need to go but we will meet again" Roberto says as he begins to disappear. Suddenly everything turns white as Maria screams: "RRROOOOBBBEEERRRTTTOOO"

(BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, BEEP)

Maria's pulse returns to normal as she opens her eyes. Uriel sees Maria and grabs her hand saying: "Mama, I'm back"

Maria smiles at him as whispers into his ear: "Welcome home, hijo" Katsumi and Sister Griselda smile with tears in their eyes. Maria closes her eyes, Johanna checks on her and says:

"Her pulse is normal and the poison has completely left her body."

Uriel hugs Johanna saying: "Thank you"

Johanna closes her eyes saying: "No problem, it is just my jobs as a doctor to save lives."

Uriel looks at her and asks: "Who are you?"

"I am Johanna Gomez, Doctor of the Supernatural Intelligence Agency" Johanna replies to Uriel. She smiles at him and says: "Well Uriel now you owe me a favor, and I officially recruit you as an SIA Associate"

Everybody looks at her with a clueless face. Uriel asks: "What do you mean?"

"It means you and I are going to work together." Johanna replies.
