Vol. 2 -Chapter 2: The Rio Grande City Monster.

"Welcome back, Maria." A woman wearing black nun´s attire greets Maria as she steps out of the church.

"It is good to be back, Sister Carolina." Maria hugs Carolina with joy and Carolina begins to cry saying: "I missed you so much!"

Sister Carolina is a 30 year old nun who has a well curvy body. She has blonde hair with dark green eyes. She was a student of Maria until 8 years ago when the tragedy happen. She often played with Maria´s children when they were little.

"Welcome children, well I guess you're not children anymore right." Carolina tells the three young ones as she hugs them.

The Ministry of San Juan is a catholic church located in a small hill near the mountains of Rio Grande city. It is an old building that has some parts of the ceiling falling off. The Order of the Holy Maiden used the old church to raise orphan girls and train them to form part of the order as well.

The family enters the building and Uriel's head begins to hurt as he passes next to a cross. When Uriel enters the church he feels very a hard head ache. He thinks to himself: "Damn, I guess I´m not used to going to church yet being a Charro has its disadvantages as well."

After he finished unpacking, Uriel still had a terrible headache. He remembers the object that Juan de la Trinidad gave him. He opens his luggage and takes out a pair of blue reading glasses and his headache suddenly stops. He thinks to himself: "Wow these things actually worked."

"Uriel, it is time for dinner." Maria calls Uriel from down stairs.

"Ya voy" Uriel responds as he leaves his room.

Uriel and his family are staying in the house inside the rounds of the ministry. The house has four rooms, two located in the second floor and two in the bottom floor. The kitchen is in a separate building where they share it with the people who live in three other houses.

Everyone ate their dinner, Valerie and Daniel each left to their rooms. Uriel and Maria stayed in the dining room. In the dining room there were other three people; three teenage girls dressed as nun as well. Sister Carolina says:

"Allow me to introduce three of my students: Fabiola, Mariana and Abril. They all have 13 years old."

"It is a pleasure to meet you." The three of them greet themselves to Uriel and Maria.

Abril (Age 13) is a young girl that has brown skin, black hair and light brown eyes. She has a thin not so developed body, and she is always hyperactive and smiling.

Mariana (Age 13) is a young girl that has white skin, brown hair, and also light brown eyes, unlike Abril she is very shy. She has a thin body with regular breast size.

Fabiola (Age 15) is a young girl that has brown skin, blonde hair and dark blue eyes. She has a thin well developed body and she acts more mature despite of her age.

Maria has a suspicious face, drinks her tea and says: "Only three, what is going on here. Sister Carolina please tell us what happened."

Sister Carolina and the other nuns lower their heads and then Carolina says:

12"Very well, I will tell you everything." Carolina stands up and continues to explain:

"It all happened 5 months ago when that creature appeared."

Uriel asks: "What is that creature?" Carolina looks at everyone and says:

"EL MUERTO"

Uriel says: "You mean the dead man?"

Carolina responds: "Yes, we don't know much about him but one night 5 months ago he made a public announcement in the television. He warn us that he would take away the people who he selects and kidnap them. Mayor Gonzalez offered the protection to the citizens but it would cost a fee. People would need to pay a protection fee, otherwise a monster would attack them. At least that is what Mayor Gonzalez told the city."

Uriel and Maria had a surprised face. Maria says: "Please continue."

"At first people did not believed him, and did paid the fee. Suddenly one day people began to disappear without a trace and found dead three days after. I began to feel desperate so I called the order for help, however each time a member came their plane was destroyed in mid air, or assassinated. I believe that "El Muerto" knows about us, and he is the one who killed them."

"This explains why Sister Griselda asked me to come. She wanted someone who everyone in this city believes dead right?" Maria says as she drinks her tea.

"You are correct, this is why you arrived without any problem meaning that our theory was correct. However the priest in charge of this Church also disappeared as well as three of my girls." Carolina responds with her hands trembling of fear. Uriel makes another question:

"So what is that creature?"

"I don't know but I did got to see it." Carolina walks closer to the window and continues to explain:

"Last month I could not make the payment on time, as a consequence one night I heard a sound in the yard and I knew that something was wrong. I quickly ran to see what was happening and I saw it."

"You saw what?" Maria asks with a frightened face.

"A devil, at first I thought it was a man with a cape, but suddenly he opened his huge pair of wings and in his arms it had Sister Melissa and began to fly away. I tried to stop them by throwing my "Lance of San Marcos" at him but I failed." Carolina began to cry of sadness and says:

"I could not save my students. I´m so weak I only got to see their bodies turn to ash after that."

Sister Carolina began to feel as she was about to throw up. Maria stands up and hugs Carolina and says:

"You did the best you could and I am proud. We are here now so do not worry, but we need to take safety measures."

Carolina stops crying and tries to calm her down. Uriel stands up and asks:

"When is the next fee?"

"It is this Friday, but the creature wont attack until Saturday." Carolina responds with a calmer tone.

Uriel says with a confident face: "Leave everything to me, I will stop that thing."

Maria and Carolina begin to smile with a feeling of relieved, Carolina says:

"Thank you."

"You can't take him down, you look weak. I'm the one who will kill that monster for taking away my sister." Fabiola says to Uriel with a furious face. She stands up and walks out of the dining room furious as she slams the door shot. When she walks out in the hall way both Valerie and Daniel begin to walk away as well. They heard everything and both of them look at each other with a serious face and say:

"We did not hear anything."

"We are sorry, she is just upset for losing many of our sisters." Abril says with a sad face.

Mariana is standing behind her and both of them say at the same time: "We will be leaving now, excuse us."

Mariana and Abril leave the room.

Uriel says: "Well I´m going as well, I need to work tomorrow."

"Good night!" Both Maria and Carolina say to Uriel.

Maria walks outside to the back yard and she draws a huge circle with little crosses around it. She makes a cut in her hand and blood begins to fall to the ground. She chants:

"En el nombre del Señor, protege este hogar de humildad"

Translates: (In the name of the lord, protect this humble home.)

A huge golden barrier begins to surround the Ministry and closes the entire area. The barrier begins to turn invisible. Maria begins to think to herself:

"I hope we will be alright, I know they felt our presence."

She turns to look at the hill because she felt the presence but did not see anything. However in the hill there is a figure of a man with a cape and large eyes. The creature opens its wings and begins to roar. All of a sudden a strange sound is heard, it is similar to a whistle and it causes the beast to fly and it disappears.
