Vol. 15 - Chapter 4: Darius Lucifugus
On a cold night, January 1st, 1930 was the beginning of Darius´ nightmare:
(BBBBOOOMMM, CCCRRRAASSHHH)
GET THEM, DON'T LET ANYONE ESCAPE ALIVE…THIS IS A REVOLUTION…
A young Darius opens his eyes and hears a great commotion in the court yard, he stands up and sees through the window, Darius is in shock as he sees people getting killed by the soldiers, there is fire everywhere and windows destroyed. Darius sees people entering his house. Darius quickly runs to his brother´s bedroom.
"What´s going on brother?" Eric Lucifugus, Darius´ brother with tears in his eyes. Darius covers his mouth and slowly begin to walk towards the stairs.
(BBOOOMMM)
"GYYYAAHHH" They hear a gunshot, Darius looks downstairs and sees his father dead. His mother attacks the soldiers but she killed in the process thanks to multiple shots.
"MOOOOTTTHHHHEEERR" Darius screams as he releases an enourmous amount of manna, suddenly, his appearances changes. He begins to grow wings and horns, his eyes turn yellow and his skin turns purple.
"Brother, what´s happening?" Eric asks with a frightened expression. "HIS A DEMON, SHOOT!"
(PIU,PIU,PIU)
The soldiers shoot at Darius; Darius with great speed evades the bullets and instantly kills the soldiers one by one.
Darius and Eric cry at their parents dead bodies. "IN HERE, THERE ARE PEOPLE IN THAT HOUSE!"
The soldiers begin to charge at the house firing their guns. Darius grabs Eric and both of them flee from the castle. Darius and Eric look from a distant hill how the castle burns down into ashes. Both of them with tears in their eyes begin to walk away.
"WHY, WHY DID THIS HAPPENED BROTHER? MAMA AND PAPA ARE DEAD…"
Eric mourns their parents death, Darius hugs Eric as he says; "Brother, I swear I wont let you die… I will protect you…"
On that night, a revolution took place under the command of a Romanian communist party. They overthrew the royal family by killing the kind and took control over the country. Darius and Eric wonder alone from town to town looking for food and shelter. One year later, a new tragedy hit Darius:
On a cold night, one year later; Darius works on a bakery in order to bring bread to his little brother who is waiting in a small shack on the edges of town. Darius looks at the moon with a worried expression as he thinks:
"Brother just wait for me, please stay alive…"
On a shack located outside the town, Eric lies in bed with a high fever, an old lady watch over him.
-COUGH, COUGH- Eric coughs up blood as the lady looks with tears; "Little boy, I´m afraid you don't have much time left. I´m sorry…"
-COUGH, COUGH- "It´s okay, I know this is the end for me, I´m just waiting on my brother…"
Darius runs at high speed to the shack with a smile thinking; "Brother, they gave me a lot of bread, if you eat this, you´ll live."
(PUM, PUM, PUM)
Darius arrives at the shack and lets his bread fall, he sees his brother in a worst condition. "ERIC, ERIC" Darius scrams as he runs to see his brother, "I´m afraid this boy will not last longer…" The lady says with tears; Eric opens his eyes and with a low tone says:
"I-i-is that you…bother?
Darius grabs his hand with tears and asks; "Eric, are you going to leave me too?"
"I´m sorry, but I guess I won´t be able to make it, I will break our promise and leave you. But please… you must live…I love you…Big…Brother…"
"EEEERRRIIIICCC" Eric died in Darius arms, Darius cries screaming; "EEERRIIICC, WHHHYY?"
"I´m sorry, little one, I did all I could but I failed…" The lady says to Darius. Suddenly, Darius grows horns and wings and turns around saying:
"Why did he had to die? Why did they attack my family, why?
The lady tries to run. –SSSLLLLAAASSSHHH- Darius brutally kills the lady by cutting her in half. Darius decides to bury his brother below a tree; he looks at the tree with sorrow as he says:
"Why, why was I too weak, if only I had power���"
"If only you had power, you´re brother would still be alive, right…" Darius turns around and sees a man standing behind him. A tall pale man with a black suit and a furry cape; He has tall round hat, red eyes and fangs, he has long hair and a gold staff.
"Who are you?" Darius asks with a furious expression, the man takes off his hat and presents himself:
"My name is Viktor Von Weber Draculus II, and I came here to find the last Abaddon alive. Now then, Darius Lucifugus, if you want power to avenge your family, come with me…"
Viktor begins to walk slowly to his car, Darius follows him too with thinking; "Eric, I will have power"
Darius moved with Viktor to Munich, Germany. He began to live in a castle at the outskirts of the city. During that time, Germany was at war, however, the castle for some reason, was invincible for the forces that pass near it. One night, Darius looked at the moon:
"Darius, I came to tell you the reason why, your family was killed. You see the Communist party wanted power and they knew about the Abaddon, so they hired the Orthodox Church to make them special bullets. That´s why your parents died that night; unfortunately, your brother was too weak to awaken his powers, that´s why he dies, when I arrived I was too late and I´m apologize for that."
"So my family died because of their stupid war, I swear I will kill them…" Darius releases manna, Viktor laughs:
"I like your determination; that´s why I will train you, but first let me tell you about my organization. You see I belong to the Enlightened and our goal is to bring peace by illuminating the world."
"What do you mean by that?"
"Well it´s complicated but I want you to join the organization. I will show you how to control manna…" Viktor creates a sphere of manna; he releases it to a passing company near the castle.
(BBBBBOOOOMMM)
He eliminates the entire company including the tanks and soldiers, Darius is impressed and asks; "Will I be able to do that?"!
"Of course, with the proper training, I estimate that in about 10 years you will be able to control manna perfectly."
Darius makes a sinister smile as he says; "Perfect, I will gain power."
During the next twenty years, Darius gain power; however, he decided not to attack the Communist Party but the Orthodox Church where he killed the Patriarch in Romania. Darius became the Forth Hour of the Enlightened and he secretly ruled Yugoslavia. One night, in Paris, Olivia was persecuted by hunters, which are when her life changed.
"Augh, Augh" Olivia runs as fast as she can, "Leave me alone."
"Get her, she is a vampire, we must get her, she is evil."The hunters try to catch her, Olivia jumps into a wall trying to escape into an alley, but one of the hunters shoot her in the leg.
(PPPUUUMMM)
Olivia falls into the ground; the hunters grab her trying to hold her down. "Stop struggling, you will be killed in an instant."
Olivia cries out of despair thinking; ��Help me, someone, please help me."
Without any warning, "AAAHHHH" A hunter screams as the hands of specters in are pulling him to the portal. The hunters let go of Olivia as they see a figure standing at the beginning of the ally.
"Hey, you should really live that woman alone, don't you have any manners."The man says as he begins to walk forward. One of the hunters begins to explain:
"Please leave sir, she is a demon, therefore, we must kill her."
The man lifts his arm and makes specters appear on the portal, and grab the two hunters that were left. He extends his hand to Olivia and says:
"Come with me woman, you are now safe."
Olivia who instantly fell in love with him grabs his hand, they both begin to walk to the street.-AAAAAHHHH- The sounds of the men screaming causes Olivia to shake, the man lends Olivia his coat and says:
"Here, you have been through a lot, please don't look back. What is your name?"
"M-M-My name is Olivia and you?"
"Darius Lucifugus, and Olivia, I must say you are beautiful."Olivia blushes and smiles, they walk away, as the alley is covered blood and with the hunters nowhere to be found.
Darius married Olivia, Ten Years later, Aleister was born, during that time, Darius was given the mission to investigate the Seven Cities of Gold. Their objective was to obtain the Philosopher's stone.
Darius later learned that Roberto was also investigating the same thing. He decided to wage war against the Vazquez family leading to him almost dying in his death match against Roberto. The night after, Darius had a meeting with the Enlightened:
Darius wakes up and breathes heavily, he looks at his body covered in bandages, he punches the wall behind him saying:
"Damn you Roberto, if I ever see you again, I will kill you."
"That won't be necessary because Roberto died." Juan appears in front of Darius thanks to a portal. Darius looks with rage and says:
"Charro Negro, have you come to avenge your brother?"
��HAHAHA, you are mistaken, my brother had it coming by using that forbidden technique, no I came here to give you this." Juan takes out a folder and throws it to Darius, Darius opens the folder and with a surprise expression he says:
"Wait a minute, this is…"
"You are correct, the location of the Seven Cities of Gold, this chart was made by Cabeza de Vaca himself, Roberto had a piece and that is why he knew four of them, but I have the complete map." Juan says to Darius who looks at the map, the locations are revealed:
Hawikuh – New Mexico
Halona – Mexico City Aztec Territory
Matsuki- Located in Mayan Territory
Quiviral – Brazil
Kiakima- Peru located in Inca Terrirory
Kwakena- Florida
Cibola- Located in the Borderland
Darius smiles and says, "So the last one in the Borderland, now I know why "they" sent me here, excellent."
"Well, well so they did survive and El Charro Negro is protecting him." A man in a wheel chair says it while laughing.
"You should have stayed in bed sir; it has not been even 6 hours." An employee tells the man.
"Silence, you idiot, there must be no suspicion." The man says to him revealing himself as Darius. He had bandages in all his body and he wears his dark glasses as well. The office has pictures of Roberto with a black ribbon in signs of respect
"Father, are you in there?" The voice of Aleister is heard.
"Yes son I´m here." Darius replies.
Aleister enters the room with some of his bodyguards and makes a question to Darius:
"So what is your next move father, the cities of gold are incomplete and the red moon is gone."
"Don´t worry my son the attack in "that" base was a success last night and we got our second objective thanks to the Red Moon. Do not worry it was not in vain plus I killed that idiot of Roberto."
Darius explains to his son. Aleister leaves the room leaving Darius thinking what his next option was. Darius receives a call from the voice of a man through the phone and it says:
"Good work, Darius, you got rid of the Solitary Wolf. It will take eight years for another red moon, be patient. We will get that treasure. I need to inform you; the horsemen of War got his successor. As there is another horseman, we must be in high alert. In the mean time take over the border city, "Tree and Order" will soon make a move as well so be in alert."
Darius replies: "Yes sir, mission accomplish, we are Enlightened."
"We are Enlightened." The man in the phone says it as he ends the call leaving Darius laughing in his office over his victory. Darius proceeds and has a meeting with his superiors.
In three monitors, the Second, the Third and the Fifth Hour appear in the monitor; "Darius, due to the poor condition you´re in, we decided to demote you, from his day on, you will be the tenth hour. The voice of a little girl speaks making Darius furious.
"Will all you´re respect, my opponent was the Solitary Wolf, he was a powerful opponent, but I did kill him…"
"Enough Darius, we know what happened, and we know that you lost because of your carelessness. You underestimated your opponent and now you will be punished." Viktor the Fifth Hour says to Darius, Darius lowers his head.-TCH- "Please reconsider, Viktor, it wasn't my fault."
"You still have the mission to find the Philosopher stone, in eight years, if you complete your mission, we will reconsider in making you the Fourth Hour…" The Third Hour says to Darius, Darius looks at them and says:
"I SWEAR ON MY LIFE THAT I WILL COMPLETE MY MISSION…"
Darius opens his eyes and sees Uriel walking towards him, Uriel puts his sword downward and says; "Darius, this is the end, I will kill you."
"I lost Uriel, I failed my mission, please kill me…"
(SSSSSLLLAAASSHHHH)
