Vol. 15 - Chapter 10: The Consequence of Power

Uriel finds himself surrounded by the members of the Catholic Church. Each of the nuns and monks has spears pointing at him.

"Big Brother…" Valerie looks worried. "Valerie stay where you are and don't interfere, I mean it." Uriel turns and looks at Valerie, Valerie gets scared and thinks:

"Big Brother, that look in your eyes, it's full of rage."

A man wearing a black robe with a gold cross around his neck that goes down to his chest. He has a mature face, tan skin, and brown eyes. He has white hair that is comb to the back. The man has Magdalena and Griselda on his sides.

"Greetings Uriel Di Fiore, I wanted to meet you for a long time. I am the Mexico's Archbishop; my name is Norberto Aguilar at your service."

Uriel looks at him and responds; "The pleasure is mine, and what do I owe the honor?"

"I just came here to talk to you about the certain incident in the Borderland. Now I had the Testimonies of Sister Magdalena, the leader of the Order of the Holy Maiden, and Sister Griselda the Leader of this Ministry, but I wanted to confirm the actions by your words."

Uriel suspects of the Archbishop´s words. He analyses the situation, he sees that in the far right, the three sisters were observing, however he did not see his mother. He begins to think:

"There 200 hundred nuns and monks in total, I can sense my mother and Daniel here but I cant see them. Plus there is someone in the shadows that I can sense trouble."

Uriel looks at the Archbishop and comments; "From the look of it, it seems that your are judging me, is that correct?"

"Not at all, I just want to know if it's true what Sister Magdalena said. She said that you along with Darius Lucifugus killed the people in the Borderland and destroyed the cities. Now the SIA and the Ministry of the United States have put a large bounty on you head. Care to explain…"

Uriel looks at Magdalena glaring at him, and Sister Griselda worried. Uriel smiles; "I won't say anything until I see my mother, my brother and Sister Carolina."

"Very well" The Archbishop orders the monks to bring them. The three of them, along with the three sisters come forward. They appear to be in a bad condition, their clothes covered in dirt, and they face covered in bruises. "Uriel, you´re awake, thank god." Maria says with her eyes filled with tears.

"WHAT THE HELL, WHY ARE THEY LIKE THAT, WHAT DID YOU DO TO THEM?"

"Nothing, they are just prisoners, they are being interrogated for the actions on the Borderland" Sister Magdalena says with a smile. Valerie runs to their side, Uriel gets angrier and he screams:

"LET THEM GO, THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG, I AM THE ONE TO BLAME!"

"They attack my agents trying to protect you, I only did what it had to be done, Uriel, now my patience is running low, I hate to do this but if you don't answer, I might need to punish them for real this time."

"YOU SON OF…" Uriel begins to release an enormous amount of manna, the nuns and monks begin to attack him, Uriel with one swing of his arm, blows everyone away. Uriel releases his mother and the others.

Magdalena and her three nuns push the Archbishop back and get into their battle positions. The Archbishop grabs his cross and says; "Stand down, we will wait for him to make his move."

He looks at the Archbishop and begins to walk forward. Maria grabs his hand and says:

"That´s enough my son, we are like this because we chose to support you, if you attack the Archbishop, you commit a sin and make things worse for you."

Uriel looks at her mother; Maria feels fear and lets his hand go. Uriel swings his arm cutting the pillar of the balcony where the Archbishop was.

(SSSLLLAASSHHH)

Everyone falls, but they land safely thanks to the Archbishops powers. Uriel charges straight at them preparing his fist as he screams; "HOW DARE YOU HURT MY MOTHER!"

"You got it wrong boy, we didn't touch your mother." The Archbishop says, Paola, Veronica and Alondra prepare to attack him. Uriel evades Paola´s lance, Alondra tries to attack from the back. Uriel evades and pushes the sister away with force. Veronica attacks from above, Uriel dodges and grabs her lance with her and throws her away.

Sister Magdalena makes her lance appear as she looks at him with disgust; "You demon, how dare you touch my sisters."

Magdalena releases and enormous amount of manna as she says; "I WILL PURIFY YOU DEMON!"

A magic circle forms on his feet and releases a golden manna pillar. –BBBOOOOMMM-

"That´s a powerful spell that destroys demons." Magdalena smiles, however Uriel makes his sword appear and swings it breaking the pillar. The forces blows away Magdalena, Uriel creates wind and lowers the impact to a minimum on Magdalena´s body.

"Too bad for you, I am not a demon, I am the Horseman of War!"

Griselda stands still as she looks at Uriel´s eyes filled with rage. His appearance changes, his hair turn crimson and his eyes red with triangle in his pupils. He changes the color of the atmosphere to crimson.

Uriel slowly walks to the Archbishop; he stops and sees him face to face. The Archbishop takes out his cross and turns it into a sword. "I am going to ask you once more, did you hurt my mother?"

"No, we didn´t, I wanted to see your power so I lied, they were not our prisoners, they´ve been living really well here because Maria is a member of the order. The reason they are covered in dirt was because they chose not to have any luxuries until you woke up and prove you innocence. My intention was never to arm them or you."

Uriel feels the rhythm of his soul and thinks; "This man is telling the truth, but I need to make sure…"

He turns to look at Maria, "Hijo, the Archbishop is right, it is not our right to enjoy any luxuries until you woke up, now that you woke up please clarify the situation."

"Now Horseman of War, please tell me the truth, were you collaborating with Darius Lucifugus, an Abaddon?"

"No, I didn���t, I only wanted to help the cities, I wanted to save them."

"Then why didn't you do it, you were there and yet thousands of people die right?"

"You have some nerve, you humans only judge for what you hear. Where was the Catholic Church when all of this happened? Where was the Archbishop, I saw the Golden Maiden however she did not do anything. You people have no right to judge me when you didn't do anything."

Uriel stops releasing manna, he looks at his hand and continues to speak; "That night, I lost my best friends, my lover, my students, I almost lost my family and I lost my soul. If you still want to fight, then I will fight you."

The Archbishop puts away his sword and says; "Not at all" The Archbishop hugs Uriel; "In the name of the Order of Mexico, I sincerely apologize for the aiding you in your fight. It pains me to see my brother and sisters in pain. Please forgive."

-TCH- "I don't need you apologize, I only want my family to be safe."

"I understand, therefore, they will be staying here as members of the order. You can stay here if you want too"

Uriel feels the rhythm and notices he is not lying at all. Uriel turns back to normal and says:

"I can't stay here; I am a fugitive for many countries right?"

"I´m afraid so, but don't worry, we will protect you" The Archbishop says to Uriel. Uriel with a serious expression denies his help; "Thank you, but this is something I don't want the others to get involved."

The Archbishop snaps his fingers, Maria and the others begin to glow, their clothes change to new ones, they bruises and cuts disappeared. "There, you family is safe and sound. Don't worry about them."

The Archbishop begins to speak loud; "MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS, THE DI FIORE AND THE HORSEMAN OF WAR ARE PART OF THE MINISTRY OF JALISCO. PLEASE TREAT THEM WELL."

The nuns and monks put away their lance and begin to help Maria, one of the nuns says; "Please you must eat now, your son is innocent, please eat Ms. Maria."

Maria smiles and replies; "We will, don't worry." She stands up and says outloud; "THANK YOU FOR YOUR KINDNESS FOR THE THREE MONTHS, WE WERE THE OJNES WHO CHOSE NOT TO HAVE LUXURIES DESPITE OF ALL YOU INSISTING. NOW THAT MY SON IS INNOCENT, WE SHALL WORK TO MAKES THIS MINISTRY EVEN STRONGER."

(CLAP,CLAP,CLAP)

The nuns and monks clap and cheer for Maria, Magdalena stands up and says; "That's not fair, Maria you´re always the popular one."

"Uriel, you can count on me from he on out." The Archbishop extends his hand, Uriel shakes his hand saying; "Thank you, and I am sorry for the problems."

"Not at all, in fact I am the one who need to apologize for making you worry."

Sister Griselda hugs Uriel saying; "Thank God you´re alive mijo."

"Thank you Abuelita, I am fine now." Uriel begins to leave the Ministry, he hugs Carolina and the three sisters. He goes outside of the Ministry with the nuns and monks greeting him happily.

On the outside o the Ministry, Valerie, Daniel and Maria follow him:

"Big Brother, where are you going?"

"I need to go somewhere else, later."

"Uriel wait, we need to talk." Maria stops Uriel, Uriel turns around and says; "That was a big act you made mom, trying to be the martyr for a son you regret having?" The three of them are left in shock; Maria falls down to her knees and begins to cry.

Daniel gets angry and screams; "URIEL, YOU´VE GONE TOO FAR"

"THAT´S RIGHT URIEL, WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT?" Valerie asks Uriel, Uriel looks at Maria with anger and says; "Ask her yourself, remember mom, that time eight years ago? I hope you feel better with yourself."

Maria lowers her head and begins to remember her actions; Daniela and Valerie look at Uriel with rage. "Do you hate me now? Well that´s no surprise that is the Consequence of power you know."

Uriel begins to leave into the dark road, a crow lands on his shoulder. "RRAAWW, why didn't you fight the Archbishop? You could have beaten him easily."

"Don't be stupid, the Archbishop is stronger than the others, plus there was a presence behind him that was even more powerful than me, I could feel it."

Uriel opens a portal and disappears with the crow. "What happened to my big brother, he felt so cold and feel with anger." Valerie says to Daniel, "Maybe it's like he said, that those are the consequences of power."

"No, it´s not that, it's something that I did and I need to apologize." Maria stands up with a determined face.

Inside the Ministry, Griselda looks at Carolina and says; "Sister, I´m afraid I´m too old to handle the Ministry. Judging by your actions and for not going back on your decisions, I am appointing you as the Head of the Ministry."

"EEHHH" Carolina is in shock upon hearing that news.

(CLAP, CLAP, CLAP)

The nuns and monks cheer for Carolina, the Archbishop chuckles; "Splendid, with Carolina and Maria here, the Ministry will be in good hands."

"Though I am not totally convinced, I guess Carolina is the only option, very well, we will proceed with the proper documentation."

"I great, sister is going to be the head" Mariana says to her sisters. "I know right, every day of suffering was worth it." Abril says with joy. Fabiola looks at the entrance as she thinks:

"Uriel, I hope you´re okay…"

The Archbishop walks to a dark corridor and says; "I guess you aid wasn't necessary after all. I knew that the Horseman of War was a pure hearted person."

"I know, old ma, but the Vatican didn't want any consequences that´s why they sent me." A figure in the shadows says to the Archbishop. "But sending an Archangel was a bit extreme don't you think?"

"No, he would´ve attacked you if he didn't notice me, but he did and that´s why he stopped."

"You´re wrong, he would never attacked me, even without noticing you." The Archbishop says to the figure, the figure reveals a yellow aura as he begins to leave saying; "Very well, I´ll report this to the Vatican.

Outside a giant mansion located in the middle of the jungle, Isabella waits with a whit cat, a portal open with Uriel and the crow appearing.

Isabella smiles and says; "Hello Uriel, we´ve been expecting you."
