1 Sister In Law

It was such a hot summer day that even the cicadas in the Qingshan Village were exhausted from the heat.

Yang Guang sat under a tree outside his clinic as his eyelids began to slowly shut.

The young man was the village doctor. Though he had mastered his craft from his parents, he could barely earn enough by treating the villagers of his village and those from the surrounding areas.

The Qingshan Village was situated in Chong Mountain. Most families had less than an acre of farmland. The villagers who were healthy would work at a coal mine a few miles out of their village.

However, about a year ago, an accident occurred at the mine and it collapsed, leaving most of the ladies of Qingshan Village without a husband.

Just as Yang Guang was about to fall asleep, he was woken up by the cries of a lady.

"Yang Guang!"

The young man opened his eyes and immediately sat up straight when he realized the one who called him was Wu Xiaolian.

"Xiaolian? What's wrong?"

Wu Xiaolian was Yang Liang's wife, Yang Guang's older brother. Unfortunately, Yang Liang passed away a year ago in the accident at the mine.

Yang Guang's parents had also passed away a few years back because of an accident, and with his brother gone as well, the Yang family was only left with him, his sister-in-law, and Yaya, Wu Xiaolian's daughter.

Seeing how anxious Wu Xiaolian was, Yang Guang thought something bad had happened to her and became anxious.

"Um... I'm here to get treated," Wu Xiaolian said as she lowered her head.

"Oh? What's wrong? Come on in!" Yang Guang said as he opened his clinic door for her. "Where's Yaya? Is she not with you?"

Yaya was Yang Guang's one-year-old niece and had just started to learn how to speak. After his brother passed away, Yang Guang had always treated Yaya as his daughter.

"I asked Mrs. Wang to help take care of her before I came here." Wu Xiaolian walked into the clinic and suddenly lowered her head once again as she gripped the corner of her shirt tightly.

Yang Guang knew that Wu Xiaolian was an introvert and smiled. "Xiaolian, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

"I-I..." On her way to Yang Guang's clinic, Wu Xiaolian had practiced what she wanted to say over and over again in her head. She thought she would be able to tell him her symptoms, but when she finally saw Yang Guang, she suddenly lost the ability to do so.

Yang Guang noticed that Wu Xiaolian's face had turned red, and she was hiding her face out of embarrassment. The sight made his heart skip a beat.

Wu Xiaolian was known throughout a few villages around them as one of the most gorgeous ladies. When she married Yang Liang a few years back, a lot of men envied Yang Liang.

Even after giving birth to Yaya, Wu Xiaolian still maintained her perfect body shape where she had curves in all the right places.

Yang Guang couldn't help but get curious as to why Wu Xiaolian was so embarrassed. "Xiaolian, you can tell me anything. We are family, aren't we?"

Perhaps after hearing that, Wu Xiaolian finally found the courage to raise her head and said, "I think I have had a fever for the last few days... I think it's because I can't produce any milk..."

Yang Guang almost thought that he had misheard the last few words as if mosquitoes were buzzing around his ears. Thankfully, judging from his sister-in-law's expression, he was smart enough to understand what she was trying to say.

"If you can't produce milk, then did Yaya eat anything today?" Yang Guang quickly asked.

"Seriously, that child. I should've started the weaning process a few months back, but she just doesn't want to stop drinking my milk..." Wu Xiaolian sighed with a troubled expression. "I tried making a light congee for her this morning, but she keeps insisting on drinking milk."

"Well, if she doesn't want to stop drinking milk, then you should feed her," Yang Guang said and paused for a few seconds. "I'm pretty sure your body temperature rose because of the heat that can congest the milk ducts."

"Can you treat it? Since I'm still breastfeeding Yaya, I can't take any medication. Is there any other way?"

Yang Guang could tell that Wu Xiaolian was extremely worried about Yaya rather than her condition. If not, she would never have come anxiously looking for Yang Guang to help her with her problem.

Wu Xiaolian's expression clearly showed that she was looking to Yang Guang for a solution. After letting out a grunt, he finally said, "There is a solution, but...it might be a little indecent."

The lady shivered a little when she heard that and noticed that Yang Guang was staring at a certain part of her body. She immediately understood what he meant, and she quickly lowered her head as her face turned red.
