Chapter 28

As Jake's consciousness stirred from the depths of sleep, the abrupt alert pierced the silence of his quarters, snapping him to attention.

Without any delay he got dressed in his suit.

his mind already processing the implications of Pilot1's report. As he strode purposefully towards the control room.

Upon entering the control room, Jake's gaze settled upon Pilot1, the unflinching leader of the robot pilots, whose mechanical voice relayed the details of the unfolding crisis with clinical detachment. A fleet of ships assaulting a passenger vessel—a situation ripe with potential for their mercenary group's inaugural assignment. With cool detachment, Jake weighed the risks and benefits, calculating the potential gains against the inevitable dangers.

In a calculated move designed to assert their group's reputation, Jake chose to accept the distress signal, recognizing it as an opportunity to establish their presence in the unforgiving expanse of space.

It was not an act of altruism but rather a strategic maneuver, driven by his relentless pursuit of success and recognition in the cutthroat world of mercenaries. With unwavering resolve, he issued orders to Pilot1, emphasizing the need for caution in the face of potential ambushes—a directive born not out of concern for their safety, but out of a desire to maintain tactical advantage.

This was space and there were many things Jake did not have information about.

So Jake decided to play it safe.

Jake then informed his clones to be present in the control room.

As Jake summoned his clones to the control room, his demeanor remained stoic and composed, betraying none of the emotions that churned beneath the surface.

"What the hell happened to the Original, he looks weird." A clone whispered.

"Shh.. he's acting in a serious manner. Don't ruin it" the clone replied.

Jake then ordered Pilot1 to activate the ship's defence systems and weapons.

With that, the ship now on course towards the distress signal, Jake continued to stare at the map that shows their position and the route.

"Guys it's time for our mercenary groups first assignment, be prepared and alert." Jake informed.

Suddenly Jake received a notification from his system.

"Finally" Jake said to himself.

Quest

Hunter Mission

'hmm looks like there's no points as reward.

Why is that?' Jake thought to himself.

As they neared their destination, the tension in the control room was palpable, yet Jake's demeanor remained unchanged. While his clones exchanged lighthearted banter, he remained aloof, his focus fixed firmly on the task at hand.

Finally, as the passenger vessel came into view, Jake's mind sharpened to a razor's edge, his senses attuned to the impending conflict. With calculated precision, he prepared to lead his crew into battle, every move a calculated gambit in the high-stakes game of spacefaring warfare.

For Jake, this was not just their first mission—it was the opening salvo in a campaign destined to carve their name into the annals of mercenary legend.

With the calm authority befitting his calculating nature, Jake instructed Pilot1 to activate the stealth system of their spaceship. As the invisible cloak enveloped their vessel, rendering it undetectable to enemy sensors, Jake turned to his clones, his cold and analytical mind already formulating a plan of action.

With a calculated decision, Jake directed four of his clones to infiltrate the pirates' spaceship, their mission clear: to capture the pirates alive and extract any valuable intelligence. However, as the gravity of the situation settled upon him, Jake made a pivotal choice—he would join them in the mission. With a resolute stride, he embarked on the dangerous journey, steeling himself for the confrontation that awaited.

As Jake and his clones approached the pirates' vessel, they observed its ominous silhouette against the backdrop of the void—a stark contrast to the sleek efficiency of their own ship. The pirates' vessel was a hulking behemoth, adorned with scars from countless battles and boasting an arsenal of weaponry that spoke to its violent history. Its exterior was adorned with makeshift repairs and scavenged technology, a testament to the resourcefulness of its crew.

As they breached the outer defenses of the pirates' ship, Jake and his clones were met with the clang of metal against metal, the distant echoes of shouts and commands reverberating through the corridors. Inside, the ship was a maze of dimly lit passageways and cramped compartments, each shadowy alcove concealing potential threats.

The pirates were space humans a verint of humans. They are a common species across the universe.

"Well that's a huge let down, I was hoping for a real alien with weird head or four arms" a clone said.

"Everybody prepare for battle" Jake ordered.

The first pirate lunged forward with a ferocious yell, brandishing a makeshift weapon fashioned from salvaged ship parts. But before he could strike, one of Jake's clones intercepted him with a swift strike to the solar plexus, incapacitating him with a well-placed blow. With a deft twist of the wrist, the clone disarmed the pirate, rendering him helpless before swiftly subduing him with a gentle touch.

Meanwhile, another clone engaged in a fierce struggle with a group of pirates, their numbers overwhelming him as they closed in from all sides. With lightning-fast reflexes, he dodged their attacks with precision, weaving between their strikes with fluid grace. In a moment of opportunity, he delivered a series of precise strikes, incapacitating his adversaries with calculated efficiency.

As the battle raged on, the clones moved with coordinated precision, their movements synchronized in a deadly dance of combat. With each strike, they sought to incapacitate their opponents without inflicting fatal harm, utilizing their mastery of hand-to-hand combat to subdue the pirates with calculated precision.

Despite the ferocity of their adversaries, Jake's clones maintained their composure, their determination unyielding as they fought to achieve their objective. With every blow landed, they inched closer to victory, their unwavering resolve driving them forward in the face of overwhelming odds.

the clones rendered the pirates unconscious with gentle yet firm restraint, ensuring that they would be captured alive.

In the midst of the chaos, they remained focused on their mission, their movements calculated and precise as they worked to neutralize the threat posed by the pirates.

As the clones took down the ordinary pirates, Jake decided it was time for him to be involved.
