25 Chapter 24

Chapter 24

As the dust settled from Jake and Han Xiao's intense battle, a tense atmosphere hung in the air. Surrounding the duo were disgruntled players, their faces twisted with anger and frustration. Jake, having single-handedly eliminated the leader of the Germinal Organization, became the focal point of their ire. They clamored for revenge, blaming him for their inability to loot the defeated organization and the loss of their hard-earned experience points and rewards.

In the midst of the crowd, voices rose in indignation, demanding justice for their perceived losses. "You think you can just waltz in here and take down the Germinal Organization without consequences?" one player shouted, his fists clenched in fury. "We worked hard for those rewards, and you've robbed us of our rightful loot!"

"What kind of reasoning is that? I'm a capitalist bi#ches" Jake shouted.

Despite the growing hostility, Jake remained calm, his gaze steady as he assessed the situation. When some players attempted to launch attacks, he swiftly dispatched them with a single slash of his sword, a chilling display of his prowess that sent a shiver down the spines of those who witnessed it. The sheer power and skill he displayed served as a stark warning to anyone foolish enough to challenge him.

"That was quite the reception," Han Xiao remarked, his tone laced with amusement. "It seems you've made quite an impression on your fellow players."

Jake then looked at Han Xiao and asked.

"Are these guys good for anything other than construction works".

"Not all of them but I have selected an elite team that I'm nurturing, but they are no way near to beat me and you." Han Xiao informed him.

''We have much to discuss, my friend, and little time to waste." Saying that Han Xiao led the way.

Inside Han Xiao's personal workshop, the atmosphere was heavy with unspoken thoughts and uncharted territories. The two men stood in silence for a few moments, their minds undoubtedly racing with questions and uncertainties. Finally, it was Han Xiao who broke the silence, his voice steady but filled with curiosity.

"Jake," he began, his eyes searching on Jake's face for any hint of deception, "are you... a reincarnated person?"

Jake didn't hesitate. He met Han Xiao's gaze with unwavering honesty. "Yes," he admitted, his tone firm. "I am."

Han Xiao's reaction was not unexpected, yet it still caught him off guard. He took a step back, his expression a mixture of surprise and contemplation. "I had suspected as much," he confessed, his voice tinged with disbelief. "But to hear it confirmed... it's still difficult to comprehend."

Jake nodded in understanding, sympathy evident in his eyes. "I know it's a lot to take in, so can I take that you are also a reincarnated person?".

"Yes I am I used to play this game a lot.. it was fun" Han Xiao said with a sigh.

"But you seem... so accustomed to this world." Han Xiao asked him curiously.

Jake offered a rueful smile, the memories of his past life flooding back with painful clarity. "Appearances can be deceiving," he mused, his voice tinged with melancholy. "I may have adapted to this world, but that doesn't mean I've forgotten where I came from. But now this is my reality whether I like it or not."

Han Xiao listened intently, his eyes reflecting a mixture of empathy and understanding. "And now?" he prompted, his curiosity piqued.

"How do you cope with being trapped in a world that was once just a game?"

"Hope. Hope of returning home" Jake said.

Jake's gaze turned inward, grappling with the complexities of his existence. "It's not easy," he admitted, his voice tinged with resignation. "But I've learned to find solace in the small moments, the fleeting connections that remind me of what it means to be human."

Han Xiao nodded in silent agreement, his own journey mirroring Jake's in more ways than one. "I, too, have struggled with the reality of my situation," he confessed, his voice heavy with emotion. "But meeting you, Jake, has given me hope that perhaps we can find a way to navigate this world together."

They spent some more time in silence.

"Okay now let's get back to business".

Jake said while having a 180 degree change in his emotion.

Han Xiao was stunned to see this.

"One more thing don't ever spill out what we discussed here or I will rip off your spine from your body, I had done it before". Jake warned Han Xiao.

"So, what about you, Jake?" Han Xiao inquired, his gaze probing as he turned the conversation towards his companion's future plans.

Jake paused, considering his response carefully. "Honestly, I don't have any concrete plans".

Jake decided not to explain his plans because he couldn't explain how he got a spaceship out of nowhere.

Han Xiao nodded in understanding, his expression thoughtful. "I can understand that".

Han Xiao explained " I have a plan, wanna hear it".

"Sure fire it away" Jake replied.

"the Godoran inspector on the way...."

"Yeah because of the players appearance I remember the six Nations informed the Godoran Civilization. I almost forgot about that" Jake interpreted Han Xiao.

"Yeah, The sudden appearance of players throughout the galaxy has caught the attention of the Godoran civilization, and they've sent an emissary to inspect these creatures and make a report." Han Xiao continued.

Jake faked a shock to convince Han Xiao and said "And you plan to...kidnap the inspector?"

Han Xiao nodded, his expression resolute. "It's our best chance to get out of this planet and travel the vast galaxy," he declared, his voice filled with determination. "With his communicator, we can book a space agency's service and make our escape."

"Yeah I'm not gonna join in your crazy plan, just leave me from this who knows what kind of crazy weapons he has, I remember they are a magic and science combined civilization." Jake said backing out of the plan.

'Looks like Han's plans didn't change'. Jake said in his mind.

"So what's your deal with the players?" Jake asked.

"I'm trying to build up a player bases team of elites to be with me all the time as a reserve squad. There are a few candidates.

They have a long way to go." Han Xiao said.

" Why on earth did you make many players change their class into Mechanic's I assume there a long plan behind that." Jake asked with a knowing smile.

" In time you will find out Jake." Seeing that Han Xiao doesn't intend to reveal his plan Jake dropped the case.

"On an other note do you remember Aurora she's Hela's little sister, I saved her while I was in Andrea." Jake informed Han Xiao.

Han Xiao was stunned, because Aurora was dead in his previous life made into an Elixir of life.

"You saved her that's actually a great news" Han Xiao congratulated Jake.

"Yeah, I brought both Hela and Aurora with me to the sanctuary they are in the headquarters now. And it's gonna get better for you. You can keep the both of them here with you" Jake said while patting Han Xiao's sholder.

"What do mean by me keeping them here?" He asked confused.

"Well it's a long story. Aurora was brainwashed just like us in another method." Jake then explained her condition to Han Xiao.

Han Xiao agreed to give them an accommodation in the sanctuary.

Jake also informed she is really excited to meet uncle Zero.

Jake also informed Han Xiao that he will be leaving soon and won't stay there to say any good byes.

Jake then left the sanctuary with his clone without any delay.

In the truck.

"Boss-man what's the next agenda in the list?" Jake's clone asked.

"We are gonna leave Aquamarine for good....."
