--------------------------------------------

Zefer's Intelligence was raised by two points. One from just studying and another from completing the daily Quest. This meant that he would lift his stats by doing things related to each Stat.

He could easily predict that all he needed to do was a workout for Strength. For Endurance, it was probably something to do with tenacity or resistance to certain things. Maybe even stamina?

As for Agility, he could think of it as his reflexes and natural speed. If he practiced dodging things and doing cardio, he figured he would increase this Stat this way.

Then there was Wisdom and Intelligence. He figured these two would go hand in hand, but it didn't seem like it. His Intelligence was raised from studying and increasing his knowledge, but his wisdom did not. Shouldn't it have been the other way around, though?

He remembered another part of his Daily Quest, which was [Cultivate the Rune Energy]. Perhaps his wisdom would increase if he did this. He wouldn't know until he got home, though.

As for Charm and Luck. These seemed explanatory as well. The charm stat would most likely be increased if he seduced someone or something. As for Luck, he actually had no idea how to improve this one other than investing stat points into it.

For now, he put both of those aside. Even if his Critical Evasion and Intimidation worked based on those two. It was because he didn't care for seducing women. Although, now that he thought about it. Another part of his Daily Quest was to court someone.

"So, I have to sleep with someone if I want the last stat point." Zefer thought internally and just sighed heavily and shook his head. That would prove difficult since everyone in the city hated him. People wouldn't just sleep with him because he tried to hook up with them.

Little did he know, though, that he had a small admirer. It was a petite short woman who looked nerdy with glasses and all. She was reserved and timid, hiding behind a bookshelf while looking at Zefer.

The girl had beautiful black hair and fair skin. She had seen Zefer during the Rank Up test and how he exuded such Strength. His uninterested expression and the cold air that he exuded drew her fancy. Not to mention, he was rather handsome.

Adding that he was in the library studying also boosted her fancy for him. Someone strong, hot, and studious, who wouldn't want to be with them? If she put Zefer's personality in there, he usually kept to himself. He never actively lashed out at people, and even back when he fought back, it was only in self-defense.

The girl knew Zefer before he became a docile person. When he did, she wondered what had happened. She didn't believe the rumors that were spread about it. Someone like him wouldn't kill without reason, but she was too scared to walk to him.

Why?

She didn't know what to say to him. Even now, she didn't know what to say to him. So all she did was watch him in silence and admire him. When he started to get up to leave, she saw he was putting the books away. She found this admirable since most people just left the materials on the table.

Although, she didn't follow him out of the library. She was here because it was her job. The school hired her as an assistant, so she couldn't leave until her shift was over. So, she reluctantly had to watch her own prince go.

Zefer was now walking down the hallway. "So, what else are you going to try?" Ina asked internally. "Gonna hit the school gym, then jog on my way home. After that, I'll cultivate my Rune Energy." Zefer explained, and Ina seemed pleased. Of course, she was. Zefer was actively trying to become stronger.

Zefer would have struggled to do so even if it wasn't to please her. As he entered the school gym, he was surprised. The place had been cleaned up quickly and arranged to its default state. Zefer made his way to the upper area of the gym where the machines were at.

The place was empty, but that wasn't surprising. Most people took some downtime after the Rank Up Tests. So Zefer had this place all to himself. He went to one of the machines and began working out. He already knew what to do.

He had been before to try and gain Strength. That was before the incident, though. He had seen many people working out, and most students ignored him. So he just mimicked their movements and how they used the gear.

He probably spent about two hours going from machine to machine before a lovely ping resounded.

[Strength Stat increased]

[Endurance Stat increased]

[Quest updated!]

[Train your body complete!]

[Partial reward giving. Choose to put the point into Strength or Endurance.]

Zefer put the bench press part back on the rack and sat up once he heard the ping. He wiped the sweat from his forehead as he read over the messages, and when he saw the last one, he couldn't help but grin.

"Strength." He thought. It was because his Endurance was already high enough. It seemed like his Endurance was similar to stamina, considering it had increased as he became slightly exhausted after working out for two hours straight.

Since he was done here, he decided to grab a quick drink from the water fountain provided for gym-goers. After his fill, he took his leave. He hadn't even noticed that someone else had entered the gym. A girl. She was toned and well-built but still looked good. Her brunette hair was tied up in a ponytail, and she had been doing a few sets on a machine when she noticed the only other person taking their leave.

Even before she arrived, he had been here the entire time, which she found strange since she had never seen that boy. She knew all their regular gym-goers, but he was not one of them. "Interesting..." The girl said to herself. She had this feeling she would see that boy more frequently.

Zefer hadn't even seen the girl. He had been so engrossed in his own workout that he had blocked out everything else. Now it was time to head home. Even if school ended early, the afternoon was coming in closer than expected. The air was still chilly, but Zefer didn't care. Even with the snow, jogging would probably be strenuous.

During his jog, several people saw him but didn't know who he was. Those who hadn't seen Zefer undergo his small change couldn't tell since the changes made a big difference. Most people just figured this boy was some kind of hunter or something. Since he looked influential to them. So they minded their own business.

This allowed Zefer to jog without worry and interruption. He had actually already been sweating when he left the gym. So, he was pretty much pushing himself right now. The jog lasted another hour before he reached the checkpoint to get into the lower district.

The boy was out of breath, and the sharp chilly air in his lungs wasn't making it any better, but he did get some exciting message pop-ups during his run.

[Cold Resistance learned!]

[Agility Stat increased!]

[Endurance Stat increased!]

The guards at the checkpoint were wondering who this boy was. They had never seen anyone like him, but they didn't bother to say anything as he looked like an important person.

There had been a few goody-two-shoes guards who tried their hand at getting the Middle and Upper-Class people to stop doing what they were doing to the Lower Class people. Still, they were dealt with swiftly in various ways. Getting fired or being sued, sometimes even both. Even being killed. So, the guards learned to just not bother these types of people.

They didn't even bother to scan Zefer and just let him go throughout without word. Zefer found this weird, but he went with it since they were just letting him go through. "I suppose they don't know who I am. Have I really changed that much?" Zefer asked himself. He didn't think he changed too much.

Regardless, there was one more thing he needed to do. So he made his way through the Lower District, and as he did, Ina wondered why he had come here. "Why are we here?" Ina asked curiously.

"Because I live here," Zefer replied. Ina was silent for a moment since she didn't know what to say. When they arrived at his home, she was further driven into uncertainty. "You are kidding, right?" Ina asked, hoping this was a dream, but Zefer pushed into the empty home.

At that instant, Ina didn't know what to think. She had never been with someone who was this poor. This wasn't normal. It didn't really matter much since most of her holders went on a rampage after awakening the Rune of Destruction, but they weren't poor.

"Well, shall we get started?" Zefer asked, making his way into the empty living room and sitting down with his legs crossed. Ina sighed heavily since she knew it would be long before she could enjoy any riches or their luxuries.
