Chapter Twenty Three - Deja Vu

*Bang!*

Tang Wen smashed into the ground and rolled up with a pained look.

A slender man walked out of the room and shot a disdainful look at Tang Wen the then duo. "Nascent realm, Human realm birds of a feather"

Tang Wen struggled to his feet and wiped away the blood from his lips. Straightening his body Tang Wen did a palm fist salute "first brother"

"Don't call me your brother you murderer!" Tang Juan scowled hatefully.

Tang Wen's expression darkened at Tang Juan's words and he lowered his head "I'm here to see the family head"

Tang Juan snickered at his pitiful brother "Family head? what qualifications do you have to see the family head? scram and don't ever come here again!"

*Clang*

Fei Luo drew his heavy sword and it crashed into the floor before him. "Brother Tang is this man a friend?"

"Don't fight back!" Tang Wen warned in panic. He knew how terrifying his brother was. Fei Luo didn't stand a chance against him.

"A human realm dares point his blade at me?" Tang Juan started to give off a faint killing intent.

the eerie voice buzzed in Yue Chen's head "It's him"

Yue Chen clasped his fists and warily looked over at Tang Juan "What about him?"

"There's the heavenly aura on him. He's a Child Saint"

"Brother they are my guests, give me some face and spare them" Tang Wen plopped down next to Tang Juan and pleaded.

"If you all leave now I won't pursue this matter" Tang Juan's aura dissipated and a kick landed on Tang Wen's stomach that sent him flying towards Fei Luo.

The moment Fei Luo came into contact with the force that had sent Tang Wen flying he realized he wasn't able to stop it. Caught in the attack he experienced the force of the blow as well.

*Boom!*

Tang Wen and Fei Luo smashed through the Tang family wall and onto the ground.

"Ants opposing the wrath of someone greater" Tang Juan scoffed and turned away.

Yue Chen who stood by the side was talking to ZuZhou. That was the name Yue Chen had given to the creepy voice in his head. Though it protested Yue Chen didn't mind.

"Children blessed by the heavens as the destined ones that will rise above the pugilistic world and become saints, peerless talent, insight and diversity are traits that differentiate the chosen ones from mere geniuses" ZuZhou stated. "Grab those two and leave before you he-"

ZuZhou was cut off by the sudden appearance of Tang Juan a few inches before Yue Chen.

Tang Juan checked Yue Chen cautiously "I noticed a faint evil aura in your body. Are you a demonic cultivator?"

Tang Juan's eyes swept over Yue Chen and he felt his body become stiff and he couldn't budge an inch. "I'm an ice user not a demonic cultivator" Yue clarified.

"I don't care really there is something about you that gives me the chills. You're only a Nascent realm I can't allow it. Empty your elemental qi and I'll let you go" a thin purple needle appeared in Tang Juan's and stabbed between Yue Chen's brow.

"Why are you doing this!?" Yue Chen cried out in agony

"You already know the answer. I'm stronger than you. There is something I don't like about you isn't that enough? The weak will always be preyed upon, fighting against the strong is futile" Tang Juan replied with an arrogant smile and snickered.

Slowly Yue Chen could feel the Ice Qi pouring out of his body and gradually the amount left in his body was dwindling. In mere moments Yue Chen's cultivation plummeted.

"stop!" Yue Chen struggled to free himself but his body wouldn't budge. He had only recovered a few weeks ago and he was going to lose everything again.

"Don't worry I'll make sure your cultivation points are alright, you'll just have to start all over!" Tang Juan engaged in a maniac laughter and the needle in his hand twisted a full 180 degrees.

*Thud*

Yue Chen was thrown to the ground and he felt his body was empty.

"Hehe You never should have come here" finally found the opportunity it had been waiting for.

"Did I...did I do something wrong?"

At this point Yue Chen was doubtful of his situation and was trying to see where he had gone wrong and see if he had unintentionally provoked his enemies.

"You did nothing wrong it is him who is to blame" ZuZhou whispered in Yue Chen's ear.

As soon as he heard ZuZhou's words Yue Chen's head turned up and he glared at Tang Juan

"To satisfy his own egocentric behavior and to flaunt his superiority he has thrown you into despair."

Tang Juan turned up his nose and walked away. Before he could take a few steps he felt the uneasy feeling hadn't decreased but instead was growing.

At this moment Yue Chen felt his blood boil and his emotions were out of control. With the sudden lost of control his power surged.

"Elementary, Nascent, Human ,hehehe yes Tyrannical Veins haven't let me down....a little more.... hahahaha! Earth realm, Disaster!" ZuZhou started to let out distorted cackle.

The overwhelming presence that Yue Chen had was undeniable and Tang Juan trembled in realization. "The Disaster realm? I destroyed your cultivation just now!"

Yue Chen's head tilted and a vicious smile spread across his face. "Hehe Im grateful, how about I return the favor"

Yue Chen's body flashed and reappeared before Tang Juan and pierced into his body like a hot knife through butter.

Tang Juan coughed a mouthful of blood and looked down at his chest in disbelief. Yue Chen's bloody hand was still embedded in his body.

"I never could have awakened these Tyrannical veins without your help let me put you to rest" with a popping sound Tang Juan's heart was torn from his chest by Yue Chen.

Yue Chen then turned to look at the fallen Fei Luo and Tang Wen.

"I didn't sense it then but your also a saint child too. The Destined ones are the heroes blessed by the heavens not only to become heroes but to cut me down." a ball of black light coalesced around Yue Chen's arm while he looked at Fei Luo "I'll spare you now if you promise to forgo your destiny and never come after me"

Fei Luo got up with a dazzling golden light flashing in his eyes "Brother Chen is there a misunderstanding between us? We're on the same side!"

"I remembered who I am and why I am still alive, the saints and the seven archangels, I will cut down each and every one of them and im sure you will try to stop me along the way so I'll warn you now. Don't ascend to sainthood and steer clear of the archangels"

Something about Yue Chen had warped . Unlike the usual Yue Chen his eyes were like a dark abyss that swallowed any light that shone on it. Fei Luo could sense the change and at the same time the qi inside his own body had become chaotic. His eyelids suddenly felt a lot heavier and he fell into a deep sleep.

Yue Chen glanced at Tang Juan's body and clenched his fist in anger "damn saints I will wreak havock on you and your cause"

With those words Yue Chen disappeared from the Tang family household.

Vermillion Toad Village

"Li Li!" Doctor Jia held the unconscious Li Li in her arms and pressed her fingers against her wrist. Doctor Jia's hands shifted slightly and needles appeared in both hands. Instantaneously the needles were inserted in the absolute yin shu point and the governing vessel.

Unbeknownst to Doctor Jia, Li Li was currently undergoing a change.

Somewhere outside of the Five Empires

"The Shadow Monarch's energy is resonating, have you finally awoken My Lord"

Currently Yue Chen had returned to the Phoenix Carving Inn where he booked a room. Before he could take two steps forward Yue Chen fell unconscious.

Rubbing his eyes Yue Chen woke up with a start, he sat in a dark alley where rats would occasionally pass him by. Struck by a sudden sense of hunger he clenched his teeth unconsciously. For some reason a feeling of deja Vu hit Yue Chen.

The sounds of footsteps travelled into the alley and a middle aged man stood opposite Yue Chen. " come you must be hungry"

For some reason Yue Chen was unable to control himself and his hand slapped the middle aged man's outstretched hand away.

The middle aged man's next words sent a jolt of electricity through Yue Chen.

"I can help your mom and brother.... if you come with me"
