the legend part 1

Its been a month since I came to this place and I fell in love with my new found family and freedom. my wounds have completely healed thanks to the space and spring water in it.

after grandpa and Ameeran got into an argument that day, they completely broke all their relationship with each other.since I'm not his daughter so I'm not his concern anymore.so I'm completely settled in my grandpa's home now.

"Meripy where is grandpa I haven't seen him since I woke up?"

"my lady, that wretched stepfather of yours is causing trouble in the trading union and causing us to a lot of business. so your grandpa is very busy. but every night he comes to your room to check up on you dear. by that time you are already fast asleep.he is very worried about you"

"I miss him"

"Oh honey, don't worry he should be wrapping up this entire trouble soon. you can spend as much time as you want with him then."

".....ok" 'i never had anyone to tell me stories before.even if its a boring story, i still wanted to listen'.

"it's the legend about the moon princess.

"once magic ruled our entire world. unlike now, the world was much bigger and was divided into the moon kingdom, sea kingdom, sun kingdom, and the netherworld. life was much simpler and peaceful back then. but it all changed, when the moon kingdoms king Zofran had an affair with the sea kingdom's illegitimate princess Hera and had a child with her named Arani. when this matter reached the queen of the moon kingdom Ameli, she was devastated. for she loved the king very much and she was a kind and just lady.so she brought back Arani to the moon kingdom as one of the princesses of moon kingdom since she is the king's child. what she didn't expect was for the king to bring back the princess Hera, his lover along with the child. the two shamelessly acted all lovey dovey in front of the queen causing her great heartbreak.

her only solace was her child Nerinei. Nerinei was the rightful heir of the moon kingdom.she was very beautiful, kind and just like her mother. but unlike her mother, she was also brave, smart and had a heart of iron will.

when things got rough at home she will go into the mountains for collecting herbs to get away from all the sadness.

she was famous, not only for her beauty but also for her healing abilities.

one day while collecting herbs. Nerinei came across a heavily wounded almost dying demon wolf. if it was someone else, they would have killed it in one go without a thought, for all feared and rejected the netherworld living beings. but not Nerinei. no, she believes in her own judgments and doesn't judge others by their birth. she doesn't harm others unless they harm her first.

besides, that wolf despite being a beast had a strange allure and was very beautiful in a strange mysterious way.it had such sad beautiful eyes. she couldn't bring herself to leave it just like that.so she tended to its wounds.

everyday she will go to the wolf, rebandage the wounds and bring it food and water. the wolf begins to heal. slowly she opened up to it, she would tell it all her worries and sadness, unknowingly it had become a good friend with whom she could bare her heart to.she found the rare peace and solace that eluded her all her life in its presence. the wolf also listened to her keenly and would wait for her every day.

once its healed fully, it was time for its return home. that day as usual Nerinei came to see the wolf. she knew it was going back soon so she felt very sad.

looking at her sad face, the wolf couldn't bring itself to leave without saying anything.so it transformed right before her eyes into a beautiful man.Nerinei couldn't believe her eyes.because shapeshifting is one of the secret abilities of the netherworld, not many people know about it at that time.

he said he is the crown prince of the netherworld and was injured in an assassination attempt on him. he then expressed his love for her. seeing that she is still in shock, he gave her a ring that could be used to communicate between them. he said she should take her time to think about it and left for his netherworld, for there was a great power struggle going on there.he was already missing for more than a month.so he left urgently.

even though he was busy with his work after returning to the netherworld, he would always send presents for her in order to court her. every day when Nerinei goes to their usual meeting place, she will always find a present waiting for her there.

it is said that all the presents were all exquisite treasures unique to the netherworld and contains mysterious powers.
