733 Extra 19: Change the World (14)

"I see that your training is yielding good results" - said Kurama as he looked at Yura, who was standing in front of him with a huge smile - "I can see that not only your Youki has grown considerably, but also the resilience of your original form."

"All thanks to your training regimen, Kurama-sama" - Yura replied happily. The increase in power she had achieved in just a few days was incomparable to what she had had in all her years of existence, which made her think about all the time she had wasted during her life. If she had known about this training, she would already be a Daiyokai, though it wasn't like it would change things much now that she had a master like Kurama.

"No, it's the effort you've put into your training" - Kurama said while shaking his head - "Though from what I see, a little more, and you'll be level enough to give you the body you desire."

"Thank you very much!" - Yura exclaimed with excitement because even though this artificial body was immortal, the weak point was too clear. Her comb, her real body, was something that was easily destroyed, even by human standards, and that's not to mention that by possessing her original body they could force her to do whatever the captor wished, that's why after hearing Kurama's words, she decided to accept the proposal, even though it had all started by a threat.

Kurama nodded, to then look at Inuyasha, who was on the ground breathing heavily - "Are you okay?"

"As ever..." - Inuyasha replied sarcastically.

"That's good to hear, I guess I'm going to increase your training regimen now" - Kurama replied with a sadistic smile.

Inuyasha's face paled when he heard this before he gritted his teeth and nodded weakly.

Kurama raised an eyebrow as a small smile appeared over his lips because despite the exhaustion, the boy could keep going with his willpower alone.

The silver-haired man tried to say something to him, though his expression changed when he heard the sound of a scream in the distance.

"Isn't that the scream of that human girl?" - Yura asked in surprise, though her expression changed when she saw how countless shooting stars seemed to be flying in multiple directions - "What's that?"

"I think we have a minor issue" - Kurama replied as he frowned - "I'll be right back..."

Kurama quickly teleported to the girl's side, who again let out a scream, only this time from the sheer surprise of seeing a person appear next to her.

"I'm sorry, but I didn't have much time to run to this place" - Kurama replied while looking at the girl - "What was it that happened?"

"The pearl..." - Kagome replied as she pursed her lips - "I destroyed it..."

Kurama raised an eyebrow as he watched the "stars" fly off to all corners of the world. He tried to gather the fragments with his gravitational control ability, but to his surprise, they seemed to be immune to his abilities - "Someone has to be interfering with my power, though that should be impossible, unless the one responsible is..."

The silver-haired man was silent for a few seconds as he thought about the multiple possibilities, though everything pointed to the person responsible being none other than the dimensional will, the same one that controlled the laws of the world, which made things much more complex for him, after all, he couldn't simply refuse to accept the dimensional will's conditions, at least not when he needed the laws of the world to complete his experiments.

Kurama let out a heavy sigh before looking at the girl who seemed to be on the verge of tears - "Relax, we just have to get a shard to get you back to the present, so you don't have to worry."

"But..." - Kagome muttered regretfully - "My mission was supposed to be to protect the pearl..."

"No, your mission is to be safe, the pearl is something secondary" - replied Kurama while shaking his head - "As long as you are safe, you can continue to grow, and recovering the pearl will be a simple thing."

Kagome was silent for a few seconds before looking at the white haired man with surprise, after all, she was waiting for him to insult her for losing the pearl, but it seemed that she had been overthinking - "Thank you..."

"You don't have to thank me, I just said what I think, besides, something tells me that the pearl was going to end up broken no matter what we did" - Kurama replied as he shook his head - "As for the reason, I'm honestly not sure"

Kagome nodded weakly even though she was confused - "Why should the pearl be shattered?"

"As I said, I'm not sure, although what I can tell you, is that there are times when fate moves in mysterious ways" - Kurama answered while shaking his head. He had some hypothesis of the situation as he looked at the girl.

"Is something wrong?" - Kagome asked as she raised an eyebrow as she felt the silver haired man's gaze.

Kurama shook his head quickly and gave her a smile - "No, it's nothing."

The ten-tailed Kitsune turned around and walked back to where Yura and Inuyasha were.

"Wait!" - Kagome exclaimed as she ran after him.

Izumi watched everything silently from the top of a tree, wondering why she instinctively did nothing when she saw the group of demons stealing the pearl - "Is there anyone just as strong as Tousan behind all this?

The Kitsune girl was silent for a few seconds before frowning - "No, this intervention didn't seem to come from someone alive? Does that mean it was the world itself that intervened?"

Izumi was silent for a few seconds before jumping down from the tree with a serious expression - "I better talk to Tousan about this, because I'm sure he must have felt it..."

The girl quickly shook her head and ran in the direction where her father was, though she obviously wasn't going to talk about this with the others present.

* * * * *

Night had come and everyone was already resting in their respective rooms.

Kurama was currently thinking about what had happened during the day.

"Fate is moving to its preordained course" - Kurama muttered as he frowned - "Was my intervention too much, to the point that the world itself had to make things go back to normal?"

Kurama wasn't sure about this, though it was the clearest answer he could come up with.

"Fate can be changed, but there's a problem, and that's that the world will do everything it can to make the script come true" - Kurama muttered while frowning - "Unless you have the power to distort your own fate or that of the people close to you"

Kurama had already done this in his dimension, he had changed many fates with his intervention, though this was because he had the fate of the "protagonist" of the world on his shoulders, which made everything much simpler.

"Too bad I don't have that same advantage in this world" - Kurama muttered as he shook his head as he saw that his movements were being restricted, at least when he tried to change some events related to the development of this world - "Although if so, then Kagome and Inuyasha should end up together, which I don't see possible..."

Kurama was silent as he thought some more about the overall situation - "That means I can't intervene in the events critical to the development of the world, but I can intervene in everything else. The destruction of the pearl is necessary to start Inuyasha and Kagome's adventure, which means..."

"Tousan..." - his daughter's voice brought the ten-tailed Kitsune out of his thoughts, so he quickly opened the door to his room and let her in.

"What's wrong, daughter?" - Kurama asked while raising an eyebrow.

"The truth is that something happened when I tried to save Kagome and the pearl" - said Izumi as she explained to him what had happened.

A few minutes later, Izumi had finished with her story as her father slowly analyzed the events.

"I see..." - Kurama murmured before nodding - "With this I have confirmed part of my suspicions."

"Anything you can tell me, Tousan?" - Izumi asked as she looked at her father.

Kurama quickly answered his daughter's doubts as he told her his hypothesis without holding anything back, after all, both he, and his baby, were external agents that were not being directly controlled by the dimensional will.

"I see..." - Izumi muttered with a frown - "What are we going to do, Tousan?"

"Oh, our actions won't change in the slightest" - replied Kurama with a small smile while stroking his princess' black hair - "Besides, fate can kiss my furry tails, if my princess is interested in that boy, then I'll do my best to help her"

Izumi blushed slightly before thanking her father, after all, she knew that such actions could get them into trouble in the future.
