SONYA VS JADE
Johnny walks back and forth as Sonya taps her foot rapidly.
"He's been gone a long time. You don't think something bad happened, right?" Johnny points out.
"Going to hell doesn't exactly sound nice." Sonya replies.
"Liu Kang will be fine...he has to be." Kung Lao says, clenching his fists.
Katana stares at the same spot they disappeared, clenching her fist.
"Come on Monk." Katana says to herself.
At that moment, fire begins to surround that spot. Liu Kang, Scorpion, and a bloody but alive Sub Zero appear before everyone.
"He made it." Sonya says with a smile.
"He's alive!" Johnny yells, excited.
Shang Tsung looks disappointed at the sight of Liu Kang as Katana grins a little. Scorpion falls to his knees. Liu reaches out to him, putting his hand on his shoulder.
"Come. Let us go." Liu Kang tells him.
They both get to their feet, helping Sub Zero to his.
"Hold it!" Shang Tsung demands.
They turn around to face the sorcerer.
"We have yet to witness a match. Scorpion! You will face...Liu Kang!"
Scorpion stares at Liu Kang as Shang Tsung smiles.
"I forfeit." Scorpion says.
Shang Tsung scowls when he hears this.
"Damn, son." Johnny says, taunting Shang Tsung.
Scorpion and the rest of earth realm walk away. Later, Liu Kang sits with everyone as Sub Zeros wounds are treated.
"All these guys were worried. Not me, I knew you could handle it." Johnny says, lying.
Sonya pushes Johnny out of the way.
"What pretty boy means is, we're glad you're ok." She says, making Liu Kang smile.
Kung Lao then puts his hand on Liu Kangs shoulder.
"Way to go, brother."
"Thank you. All of you." Liu Kang says.
Johnny raises his finger from the ground.
"So, you think I'm pretty?"
Sonya kicks Johnny, then walks away as the two monks laugh. Meanwhile Sub Zero talks with Raiden.
"You have chosen a fine champion. I would have been dead if it wasn't for him." Sub Zero states.
Raiden smiles.
"Yes. He is very worthy." Raiden answers.
The rest of the group then approaches them and Scorpion.
"And what will you do now, Scorpion?" Kung Lao asks.
Scorpion stays silent for a moment.
"My name...is Hanzo Hasashi."
Liu Kang smiles when he hears this.
"First, I wish to reclaim my soul. Then, I will find the one responsible for my clans destruction." Hasashi says.
Sub Zero slowly gets to his feet and goes face to face with Hasashi.
"I will do everything in my power to help you. I give you my word." Sub Zero says.
He then extends his hand.
"Thank you."
The two shake hands and leave.
"Well that seems like the beginning of a beautiful relationship." Johnny jokingly says.
"We must refocus. Right now Liu Kang and Sonya Blade are the only two combatants for Earth realm. But Liu Kang is the only one actually fighting." Raiden tells them.
Liu Kang stands up, putting his hand on Raidens shoulder.
"Don't worry, Lord Raiden. Earth realm will prevail." Liu Kang says.
As Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and Johnny sleep, Sonya quietly gets dressed to go out. She gets ready to leave, but Liu Kang pops up infront of her.
"Jesus." Sonya says, caught off guard.
"Going somewhere, Sonya?" Liu Kang asks, arms folded.
"I'm going to spy on Shang Tsung, see if he tells where Jax is." Sonya answers.
"Ok, I'll come with you."
"No, Liu, you just literally went to hell. You need some rest. If you loose, we're screwed."
Liu smiles at Sonya.
"It almost sounds as if you care about me."
Sonya jokingly pushes Liu Kang.
"I respect you, as a fighter. Totally different."
"Whatever you say. Why don't you take Kung Lao and Johnny with you?"
The two then look over to a snoring Johnny and Kung Lao.
"Just be careful." Liu Kang says, bowing to Sonya.
"I'm always am." Sonya replies.
She then leaves and Liu Kang lays back down in bed. As Sonya hides behind some rocks, she hears Shang Tsung talking to Kano. She looks up and sees the two, along with Quan Chi and Katana. She leans in close, trying to hear what they are saying.
"The Shaolin Monk is more formidable than we thought." Quan Chi points out.
"His name is Liu Kang." Katana says.
Everyone looks at the princess both confused and surprised, including Sonya. Katana clears her throat before speaking again.
"And, I agree. He is definitely a threat to my father's goals."
"Yeah, saw the bloke in action the other night. Guy shooting fuckin fire balls out of his hand like some Harry Potter shit." Kano says.
"Doesn't matter. He won't get past my creation. And if he does...Goro will crush him." Shang Tsung says, secretly worrying Katana a little.
"Is everything alright, princess Katana? You seem- troubled." Shang Tsung asks her.
Katana recomposes herself and scowls at Shang Tsung.
"I'm fine, sorcerer."
They then walk off, and Sonya goes to follow, but is thrown to the ground. She gets back to her feet and sees Jade with a glowing green bo staff.
"Ok, that was a dumbass move." Sonya tells her.
"You are trespassing. Go back to your room immediately. Or suffer the consequences." Jade demands.
"I'll leave, as soon as your boss tells me where my partner is."
"So be it."
Sonya quickly pulls out two pistols and opens fire. Jade quickly blocks the bullets with her staff and charges at her. She knocks the guns out of her hands and swings the staff at her head. Sonya rolls out of the way and spin kicks Jade in the face.
She goes for a punch, but Jade knocks her hand out of the way and hits her in the back with the bo staff. She then spins the staff around, hitting Sonya in the face. Jade wraps the staff around Sonya's throat, choking her out. Sonya tries to struggle free, but can't find a way out, slowly losing consciousness.
She then lands a hard headbutt, finally breaking free. Jade swings the staff at Sonya, but she catches it and pulls it out of her hands, then punches her in the face. Sonya starts landing multiple strikes, knocking Jade off balance. She then punches her in the gut, then slams her face against her knee. As Jade falls to the ground, Shang Tsung, Katana, and Quan Chi show up and sees Sonya and a fallen Jade.
"Sonya Blade! What are you doing!?" Shang Tsung asks.
"Uhhhhhhh, it's not what it looks like?" Sonya says awkwardly.
Katana rushes to Jade's side.
"She was spying on you all, then attacked me when I caught her." Jade tells them.
"I was just looking for my partner."
"These actions will not be tolerated. You leave me no choice, but to eliminate you from the Mortal Kombat tournament." Shang Tsung says.
"Oh, this is bullshit. Of course you're going to eliminate me, it gives outworld the advantage."
"My decision is final. Katana, please escort her to her room."
Katana grabs Sonya by the arm and takes her away, as Kano laughs. Shang Tsung and Kano then talk.
"What do you want to do now?" Kano asks.
The sorcerer thinks for a moment, coming up with a sinister plan.
"Prepare her "partner" for kombat tomorrow. I've just came up with the perfect test for my creation."
An evil smile appears on Shang Tsung's face.
Later Liu Kang meditates, while Kung Lao and Johnny still sleep. He charges his fire in his hand, controlling his breathing. His concentration is then interrupted by Katana pushing Sonya in the room. Liu Kang quickly gets to his feet.
"Sonya, are you alright?" Liu asks.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Sonya replies.
"Sonya Blade has been eliminated from the tournament. You, Liu Kang, are the only fighter from earthrealm who is still in the tournament."
She looks at Liu Kang for a moment.
"Goodluck." Katana says, running out of the room in a hurry.
"Katana."
Liu Kang quickly goes after her. She turns around to the monk, secretly flustered by him.
"Thank you. For bringing Sonya back unharmed."
"I was only doing what I was told. Besides, I owed you a debt, and now I have paid it."
"Well, I still thank you."
Liu bows to her in appreciation, making Katana blush.
"I must go."
She starts to walk away, but stops for a moment.
"I'm...glad you came back from hell unharmed. It would be a waste if you died too."
Liu Kang smiles, making Katana blush even more and she quickly walks away. Sonya then shows up behind the monk.
"Ok, is something going on between you two?" She asks.
"She tried to kill me before. It was kind of nice."
A confused Sonya shrugs, then goes to bed as Liu Kang continues to smile.
