Chapter 3: Plot

[You have leveled up]

I saw this notification multiple times.

This was a glitch people found out while playing the game previously and started to abuse it.

The glitch is that at level 1, even killing ants will give you exp, but while your level increases, lower level monsters eventually stop giving you exp. However if you are able to kill a large amount of monsters at the same time at level 1, you will gain all the exp as if you are level 1.

However, you cannot kill too many at the same time, because this glitch won't allow you to go past level 10.

Since I had now gained 10 levels, I got 10 free stat points, 1 per level.

I haven't really decided about how I would build myself yet, so I decided to not distribute these points for now.

"Xia Lu, is this little Meng of any use to you in any way?" I asked

"No master, she is not." He replied with a monotonous voice.

I then gave Little Meng her last command.

"You will forget everything that has happened here, you will take all your belongings and move to a different kingdom and start a new humble life over there. I don't want to ever see you again."

Her eyes glowed for a second before she took off to do what I told her.

I did this so that she, who is useless to me, won't occupy 1 of the 3 spots of my Manipulation skill.

"Xia Lu, is there any way to measure one's cultivation talent? I want to know mine." I asked. I wanted to know where Talent 1 stands in this world.

"There is a master, this is a Qi measuring device. It will insert Qi into your body and record your body's reaction to it. Depending on the number of times it flashes, it will approximately show one's talent. This is a lower level device and thus only can measure up to 3 flashes."

I took the device and used it and it only flashes 1 time.

"What does this flash mean?"

"It means that Master has talent in cultivating Qi, and can cultivate to the peak of the Qi Refinement Realm."

From what I can understand from Xia Lu's words, [Talent:1] means that I can only cultivate to the peak of the Qi Refinement Realm, and I will need to find a way to increase this to increase my cultivation level.

"Is there any way to increase talent?"

"There is a master, and while they are rare in the city, they are not that rare in 1st rate sects. Some even have special constitutions that 1 can inherit."

"Okay, now show me the best cultivation method you have." I asked.

He nodded and brought me a scroll.

I then used an identifier on it.

"Anything in this world is ranked from 1-9 stars master, including production jobs and martial arts." Xia Lu replied.

"Master, if possible, I would recommend not taking this cultivation art…once a person starts cultivation using an art, if they change the art halfway, they will have to either restart their cultivation, or change it at the risk of having a high chance of Qi deviation."

"Right, I understand your concern, for now, bring me everything you have on the Jiang Family, and also get their patriarch to come and meet you. I want to observe him."

"Right away master." Xia Lu said as he left to do what I told him.

Right, I should decide how I wish to develop…if this world is really similar to a Wuxia novel, there should be Body Cultivation Arts as well…that is a way to increase my physical stats while the qi cultivation will increase my qi stats.

If I look at it this way, I cannot increase 2 stats easily, luck and intelligence. For intelligence, there still might be some alchemicy pills, but luck might not be that easy.

I decided that for right now, I will add 7 points into luck, and 3 into intelligence.

1 Stat point is equivalent to 1 human average stat.

This means that I can now comprehend Qi arts 3 times faster than normal humans can. However, I don't know how this compares to average cultivators.

Soon, Xia Lu came back over with a couple of scrolls and said," Master, I have called the Jiang Patriarch, he is coming over soon."

I nodded and moved to a corner of the room and said," If they ask who I am, say that I am the son of a friend of yours. Anyway, I will try not to intervene but if I do I want you to back me 100%. Treat the patriarch how you normally would."

I then went to the corner and first took out a scroll which had the entire Jiang Clans Family tree.

The patriarch's name is Jiang Zhenhai, and his wife's name is Jiang Zhanyun, who was supposedly dead. He also had a son named Jiang Chen who had absolutely no talent in cultivation and is currently in a coma.

I was not wrong in my suspicions, this is 100% the plot of a wuxia novel.

Soon the Patriarch of the Jiang Clan entered XIa Lu's room, with what seemed like 4 body guards.
