Chapter 70 Scapegoat Part 3

Has the huge dust cloud from the impact started to settle, out of the rubble came Lieg not a single scratch on his skin but his clothes in tatters; slowly brushing off the dirt off his body with his hand, looking at the chief and the rest of the villager hiding in the carriage. Not really sure if they wanted to go out and check on him, but still wanted to see if he was still alive.

Shaking out the debris, from out his hair annoyed with the pouting sound inside his shadow that was Esma.

(You threw me off a mountain, let me freefall at 120mph for 15 seconds straight only to crash into the ground and you're the one upset?) Lieg thought.

Moving around his arms cracking his muscle as he walks towards the carriage, visibly tense just from the look on his face not as if he's in pain but just slightly irritated.

(How far did he fall from can't be at the top where the villages, no I doubt that no human could survive the impact of that fall)

Tetso reminded himself as he stared at Lieg. But before Lieg's gaze could link with his, he would always turn his face to the opposite side; has to avoid answering why'd didn't you go out, to check on my well-being in the first place.

Lieg realizing this made a loud sigh, and while having both his hands on his waist cracked his neck from side to side and said "Well it is what it is".

Looking at everyone shifting looks in the carriage, he was able to take notice of their craftsmanship.

(When everyone was running around building up everything, I was stuck in the house with Hoku on guard duty; I was curious to see how they would make a Carriage large enough to hold all the villagers, while still being efficient enough to travel the red Terrain)

Lieg thought as he scanned every detail of the carriage, still loosening back his muscles around the shoulder blades.

Each a 34 feet long, and 8 ft wide, running on four wheels 12feet wide two axles all connected by lever at the front was all they needed.

(If this is what they create when they're in a hurry I love to see what they would do went they have the time, these are literally moving homes on Wheels… the one at the back is literally, Bao's house across from the Chief's)

Lieg thought to himself with his left brow twitching a bit looking at the last carriage. Even as a well-known blacksmith village, they were not shy on their craftsmanship when it comes to carpeting as well. It's hard to believe these used to be some old wagons, all the outlines rim are of light saffron across all of them. Going to the folding head to the folding step, all a bright red most likely to camouflage the terrain. It's been no more than 24hr since they were told to leave and pack everything with them; yet somehow they managed to craft mobile homes from just a few small wagon parts.

Each wheel, it seem they were custom made to be different from any other magic Carriage I've seen so far, when coming out of the Valley on to the red patch; there less of a road or a path than it's a vast open Rocky flat plain. The worst kind of trip to carry children on the even if you do have all the supplies you need, the bumping on the road alone can cause infants non-stop annoyance, the beating sun directly overhead are guaranteed to cause some medical issues with the elders, and that's just the front part of the red patch before reaching into the red cave areas.

But these carriage are huge, with each having the capacity to carry 30 or so people with several food boxes stack on another.

"You guys are unbelievable… anyway 1,2,3,4, everyone safe and sound, all right then not at that settle let's get a move on. We really don't have time to waste".

Has he went on board the carriage that was holding Tetso, Ulia, Rizette and Hoku still unconscious gripping his family's sword in his arms. Upon arrival inside expecting at least a greeting from everyone, a boastful smile appeared on his face but after observing the carriage.

The atmosphere alone was far from being boastful about destroying their village, he slowly moved to the middle of the carriage as Hoku was on the floor to the left Rizette sitting over him; Ulia still on top of the carriage some of the village elder inside where escorted out by the younger ones on the other side of the carriage. Realising that his expression at that moment wasn't really the most appropriate, he wasn't really sure how he should approach the situation right now.

"You came down faster than I expected boy" Tetso breaking the silence,

"Oh… that, yea I was hoping for a smoother ride down like yours. You guys even made it down on smooth time, faster than expected to be honest" Lieg jumping on the chance of breaking that awkward silence.

But as Tetso remember the the journey down and all that it entailed, with cold sweat coming from his forehead.

"…Yea… your girls were tremendous help on that, really a tremendous help" another awkward silence filled the room.

(Shit shouldn't have said that) Lieg thought to himself.
