73 Chapter 73

I released a sigh when I saw Juvia lose the first match. I already know this result, but I am slightly disappointed because I joined the tournament. Even when Fairy Tail sends two groups, we land in the last places.

The first stage is called 'Hidden,' where the players need to find another competitor with an area filled with the clones of the players. Players will get one point if they hit the real player and lose one point if they get attacked by the other players or attack the clone.

The winner is the team that gathers the most points in thirty minutes.

The two Fairy Tail teams lose this stage and get last.

"Oh, well. Who should be the one going next? The next one is a one-on-one fight."

Mirajane says while looking at us. I get up from my seat and say.

"Let me be the one fighting. I want to stretch my body a little."

The others nod their head, and Laxus says.

"Win this for us."

"Don't worry. I will."

I returned to the waiting room, where the other participant was already inside. It looks like the Fairy Tail A team decided to send Lucy just like in the canon timeline.

I ignore the boos coming from the people watching us. Man, they really have a low opinion of Fairy Tail, huh? My opponent, on the other hand… He is famous. He is a member of Ten Wizard Saint, the title that only the strongest magician in the continent can have.

Jura Neekis is the fifth Wizard Saint and the strongest Earth Magician on the continent. I am getting excited at the prospect of fighting him.

I smile at him and say.

"Yes. Let's give our all in this fight, Jura. Can I call you Jura? Or should I call you Mister Neekis?"

"Please call me Jura, my friend."

"Then please call me Ryan."

Jura nods his head with a smile and takes a battle stance. I also take my battle stance while absorbing much of Natural Energy, ready to enter my Sage Mode.

"Are the two fighters ready?!"

I nod at the pumpkin man, and Jura does the same.

"Fight!"

After the pumpkin man says that, I appear before my opponent and do a dive kick. I can see Jura widening his eyes but still managing to block my attack. Sadly for him, his body gets thrown to the wall behind him, creating a crack in the wall.

I can see him smile and say.

"You are strong, Ryan. Then, I will not hesitate to give it my all."

He claps his hand, and suddenly, a hundred stone pillars appear from the ground. The pillars float above Jura, and I can see him smile.

"Let's do this."

Shit.

The people in the arena look at the fight in awe. They are in awe at the firepower Jura uses in this fight as countless rocks rain down upon Ryan. They are also in awe of Ryan, who manages to dodge them all, even though the rocks move at a very fast speed.

"That boy is good."

Jenny Realight, a member of Blue Pegasus Guild and the guest commentator, comments as she watches the fight before her.

"Oh? Why is that, Jenny?"

Chapati, one of the two main commentators, asks the woman next to him.

"That man managed to last this long against our strongest member is impressive." Jenny boasts about the power of her guild, "However, sadly for him, Jura will come up as a winner."

"Hohoho. I don't think that man will lose that easily."

The two of them look at the other main commentator. Yajima, one of the main commentators, looks at the other two and says,

"I have a feeling Ryan will give us a surprise."

"Why is that?" Jenny asks with a frown on her face. "He has done nothing but run around."

"And that is why I say he will surprise us."

The others might not know this, but Yajima can feel Ryan eating the air the entire time he dodges Jura's attacks. Jenny and Chapati look at Yajima, still not convinced by his words. However, it changes when someone stands up from her seat.

Yasaka had had enough and suddenly said in a loud but calm voice,

"Ryan, I think it is time. Go all out."

Ryan stops dodging, and the spectator shouts in worry as three giant boulders fly at him. However, their shout of worry changes into awe as Ryan punches the three of them and destroys them.

Ryan looks at Jura, who looks at him with a smile and says.

"I am sorry for the wait, Jura. It is time for me to go all out."

"Good. I have been waiting for this."

The people in the arena look at Ryan who starts to change. His hair changes into pink, just like the local Salamander, and his skin has scales. On top of his head are two white feathers from the back of his ears. His eyes also change into the eyes of a dragon.

Ryan releases a sigh and appears in front of Jura before the older man can even blink. He punches the older man with all his strength and sees him thrown to the wall again. This time, he did not get to block Ryan's attack, and the people in the arena looked at the result.

"See? Fairy Tail will always have something for us to show. Even Lucy has it. It is a shame that she cannot obtain that result."

Yajima looks at his fellow commentator with a small smile on his face.

Jenny snaps from her shock and looks back at Yajima.

"Even with this, he will be defeated by Jura. Jura is one of the strongest magicians in Ishgar, after all."

"And I still think that Ryan will surprise us."

Yajima did not say anything and smiled.

In the arena, Jura releases a grunt and looks at Ryan, who takes out his sword and points it at Jura. He laughed and clapped his hand, and suddenly, the entire arena started to shake.

"Let's do this, Ryan!"

"Bring it on, Jura!"
