"So you want me to join the B Team, huh?"

Makarov drinks his beer and nods his head.

"Yup. We need one more person for this tournament, and you are a perfect member for this job. You can be a reserve member if you want to."

"Nah. I will join the main team if you let me."

"Of course! The others will not mind this formation, and I know that Cana will happily apply as the reserve member."

"Of course. She would rather drink than fight."

Cana Alberona is the daughter of the strongest fighter of Fairy Tail and a professional, functional alcoholic. That is coming from her mouth, and she is proud of that title.

Makarov drinks all the beer in his mug and says.

"At first, I wanted to ask Jellal to take over as Mystogan, but it was too risky, and he needed to take care of something with his group."

Jellal and the rest of Crime Sorcière will snoop around the city to know where the foul magic is coming from and to anticipate the incoming attack that Ryan tells them about. Because of this reason, Makarov decided to ask Ryan to join the tournament.

He already knows that Ryan is strong, S-rank kind of strong, and he holds a smirk coming out of his face at the thought of Fairy Tail winning the tournament money.

"Right. Anyway, is that all, master? I need to return to my family. Kunou wants to buy fighting gloves."

"Ah, little Kunou wants to be a brawler, huh?"

"I blame Natsu for this. Since returning from training, he has been teaching Kunou how to fight. Now, she wants to be a brawler, just like her big brother Natsu. She didn't want to be like her papa any longer."

Makarov laughs at Ryan, who is sobbing on the table.

Days have passed, and the Grand Magic Games are just around the corner. All seems fine, and people enjoy their day, but it changes when Lisanna and Happy bring Wendy and Carla to the guild headquarters. The two of them are unconscious and lose a lot of their magic.

Ryan takes a deep breath as he looks at the unconscious form of his adopted little sister. He knows this will happen and has already prepared for this, but it looks like he was too distracted by his vacation, so he did not prepare enough to block the person who did this to Wendy.

He takes a deep breath and leaves the sickbay. Makarov sees him walk away and follows him. When they are alone, he suddenly says.

"Don't kill them."

"I beg your pardon?"

"Don't kill whoever does this. I don't want one of my children to get arrested for murder. Beating them to the edge of their life, on the other hand…"

Ryan looks at the short Guild Master and gives him a grin. Because of his connection with Grandeeney, the dragon has already informed him about the creature that did this. She also said it was not a human but rather a demon puppeteering, a humanoid puppet that acted as his fake main body.

Ryan walks away from the room and goes to the highest building in the city, other than the palace, to scout the creature attacking Wendy.

'Grandeeney, show me what kind of energy that thing releases. I will track it down.'

'Here'

Ryan memorized the energy and let his Senjutsu explode. Slowly but surely, he covered the entire city and found his target.

"That bastard… It is still hunting for more magic from other magic or ordinary people."

He eats a large amount of air and absorbs a large amount of Natural Energy to transform into his Dragons Sage Mode. Ryan also takes out Doujigiri Yasutsuna from his requip magic and feeds it a lot of his energy. Lastly, he activates Susanoo's Blessing before finally following the creature out of Crocus and into the forest.

When he arrives in the forest, He quickly stabs the little creature right in the head, killing him instantly. However, as he lands on the ground, his entire body screams at him to run because something is coming at him. Something powerful.

Ryan jumps away and looks at the source of his fear. He widens his eyes when he sees what looks like a young man wearing high-collared black and tan robes with gold trim and a large, flowing white toga draped around his torso.

He knows this man. This man is Zeref Dragneel, Natsu's big brother and the cursed immortal, so he will kill anyone he loves. He is also the master of Black Arts and Death Magic.

"Why did you kill him?"

Zeref says calmly as he looks at the corpse of the creature on the ground.

"He attacked my sister and attacked many innocent people."

Zeref nods his head and says.

"I see. I understand why you want to kill him. However, he is my creation, you know? I cannot let this slide."

Zeref points his finger at Ryan, and a beam of black light flies toward him at a blinding speed. If not for his Senjutsu, Ryan could not dodge the incoming attack.

Ryan wants to run away, but his dragon nature screams at him to fight. Because of this, he takes a deep breath, and blue lightning appears around him.

Thunder Breathing First Form: Thunderclap and Flash

He appears in front of Zeref, who looks at him right in the eyes. He let Ryan cut down his arm and only smiled at that sight. However, his smile disappears when he sees his regeneration is slower than usual. Because of the curse of the God of Life and Death, Ankhseram, he gains immortality.

Even when someone cuts off his head, he will regrow his body. The only way to kill him is to destroy all of his body without leaving anything behind, as a single blood can resurrect him once again.

Seeing that his regeneration slowed, Zeref looked at the man in front of him in wonder. His plan will change because of this new piece on the board. Zeref was about to say something, but sadly, Ryan did not let him talk as he appeared in front of him once again.

Thunder and Sun Combination Form: Lightning Dance

Ryan swings his sword, but before it can touch Zeref, a wave of black aura bursts out of Zeref's body. Lightning and fire meet with the Black Magic head-on, but sadly for Ryan, Zeref is more powerful than him.

The Black Magic hit him after deflecting his attack. Ryan can feel his life force get sucked by the magic that hit him. If not for the Natural Energy that keeps replenishing and increasing his life force, he would be dead by now.

"That is dangerous."

Zeref looks at Ryan with surprise because rarely anyone survives the curse's direct attack. Ankhseram Black Magic or Contradictory Curse is a Black Art that is hard to control. If Zeref feels slightly excited, the curse will explode and kill anything that excites him. Seeing someone survive a direct hit from the curse surprised him.

"You survive that. You are more interesting than I thought. Not only can you make the curse slow down, but you also can take the curse directly. You cannot die just yet. You will be part of my plan. Your appearance slightly delays my plan, but it makes it easier. Stay alive, and we will meet once again."

Zeref smiles and is about to leave. However, before he can leave, Ryan appears in front of him with lightning around his body.

Thunder Breathing First Form: Bull of Heaven

Ryan thrust his sword and released a massive torrent of lightning from his sword with the help of his breathing technique and Susanoo's blessing. Sadly, once he releases his attack, Zeref disappears, and his attack only hits the trees in front of him.

He takes a deep breath and cancels his magic. Ryan feels angry and relieved at the same time. He is angry because he cannot hurt Zeref more and relieved because he is done fighting the strongest magician in this world.

"I really need to train to suppress my draconic behavior."

Ryan shakes his head and leaves the forest before the others see him there.
