Chapter 5

"Haaaaa"

I shake my head after I yawn. I blink for a couple of seconds before getting out of my bed. Last Saturday was hard and made my body ache. The teacher decided to push me even harder than before.

Because of my ability to heal my body, they push me harder than before. Instructor Kaneyoshi says that the reason why he increases my training is that he is a transformation master. It is not the same as Take Over magic but has the same concept. He can transform into a hybrid creature or fully transform into a creature. He also can get the ability of the creature he transforms into.

His powerful form is an Eastern Dragon. It let him breathe fire and increased his durability to the extreme. Sadly, he only can hold that form for a minute or two if he forces it.

He said he wants to make another transformation practitioner strong enough to be acknowledged as a master. He sees potential in me and decides to teach me how to fight.

And I learned a lot from him. Now I can easily change between forms and even change part of my body into another form while in a total takeover form. For example, while I'm in my Weretiger form, I can change my arm into Lizardman form to block an attack.

I still need to take a second to change it, but with training, I know I can change it instantly.

I shake my head and get down to the kitchen. I take a pot, fill it with water and start to cook it. I then take a pack of frozen dumplings and boil them. While for my dumpling, I take out my phone.

I blink for a few seconds and press the Y button. While watching it roll, I brace for impact. After a couple of seconds, it stopped.

Unlike the last two gifts, I did not feel much. I feel something, like a connection with another plane of existence but other than that? Nothing. After a few seconds, I know what kind of magic I have.

I know this magic. I get another magic from the Fairy Tail universe. I wonder if the only thing I can get is coming from that place. Oh, well. I will not complain. I get these for free anyway.

Anyway, Requip magic is like Inventory in any game. I can use it to store many items, but what makes Requip magic versatile is that I can equip all of my armor and weapons inside the pocket dimension.

I can change equipment while in a fight. However, to make this magic more effective, I need to search for equipment that gives me different attacks or effects, just like Erza and her gear in the Fairy Tail world.

It is now nothing but another version of Inventory from any game. However, if I can find something to wear that may boost my defense or attack, then I can use this.

I shake my head and get up to take my breakfast. I eat the dumplings and walk out of the house. Today is a free day. I only need to focus on my mundane study, and I only have a few classes today.

That means I can explore the city for today.

|3rd POV|

A weasel youkai, a dog youkai, and a lizard youkai are running for their life. Chasing after them is an abomination. It is a flesh blob, a slime-like body that can move like a snail.

"Damned devil! We are not paid enough for this shit!"

What is chasing after them is a Stray Devil that eats enough humans to be this big. The three of them are not suitable for fighting and are only sent to this place to scout the anomaly in this area and take care of it if they can.

Sadly for them, the anomaly is the Stray Devil, which is too powerful for the three of them.

"What should we do?!"

The weasel youkai shout.

"What are you talking about?! We need to run!"

The dog youkai shouts at the weasel youkai as her legs carry her away.

"I know, you stupid woman?! I mean, where should we go?! We cannot let that thing near civilians!"

"I don't fucking know! For now, we need to ensure that things are as far as possible from civilians! Take that thing to the nearby park! Oi, Kanzaki! How is the reinforcement?!"

The lizard youkai just finished talking on his phone, looked at his comrade, and said,

"They are coming! They will come in a minute. For now, we need to search for a place to stand our ground and send a signal of our location."

The dog and weasel youkai nod and change direction to the nearby park. While running through the route that not many mundane humans use, they meet a young man jogging through the empty street.

"Dammit! A mundane human!"

The said mundane human is Ryan, who decides to have a light jog around the block. He takes out the headphone and sees a massive monster coming at him. He widens his eyes and quickly prepares to attack.

He takes a deep breath and roars.

"Sky Dragon's Roar!"

A tornado-like blast comes out of his mouth and hits the blob monster right in the head. The attack is strong enough to knock the blob monster.

The three youkai look at the young man in front of them, who they thought was a mundane human, in awe. The dog youkai shakes her head and quickly walks toward Ryan.

"Thank you for the help."

"Don't mention it."

"Are you the reinforcement? I thought you guys would arrive in a few minutes."

"Reinforcement? What? I just happen to be in this area. I lived nearby, you see."

"I see. Thank you for the help. However, we still lure that thing to the park. We cannot fight in this place. Too many innocent lives in this area."

"Then let me help you. The park is not too far away from here."

Their conversation cuts short when a roar comes from the blob monster. Coming from inside the blob is the upper half of a human's body. It was a man, and he looked pissed.

"You! You will pay for it! How dare you damage my beautiful body?! This is the perfection that many did not understand! For your transgression, you shall be ingested and your mass will become mine!"

Ryan looks at the dog youkai and says.

"He is full of himself, huh?"

"All stray devils are like that. Also, we need to start to run."

"Got it."

With the blob stray devil entering a berserker mode, he continues to chase after the three youkai and Ryan. They run through the empty street and lure the stray devil to the park. When they arrive in the park, the lizard youkai takes out a small tube and twists the bottom part of it.

A second later, it sent a pulse of Natural Energy through the city.

"I've sent the signal. We only need to wait." the lizard youkai, Kanzaki, looked at Ryan. "You should get out of here. I think we can handle this from now on."

Truthfully, Kanzaki did not know if they could hold the stray devil who came after them. However, he wanted to avoid making someone get involved in their mess. They are the Youkai Police, and it is their duty to protect the innocent, while Ryan does not have that duty.

Ryan looks at the three youkai in front of him for a few seconds before saying.

"By the look of you guys, you have fought that thing, and it was not working. Let me help you. What about this? I will be your support and will not fight them directly. I will help you from afar."

Kanzaki looks at the dog youkai, his boss, and waits for her answer. After thinking about it for a couple of seconds, she nods just in time as the blob monster gets near them.

"Found you!"
