CHAPTER SEVENTY THREE: ALL CONTRACTS TERMINATED
At The Haven's home
One particular maid caught Uncle Tarran's attention since yesterday when he came back from work. Since when his wife left him for a wealthy family in country LA, uncle Tarran lost interest in women.
But when he came back yesterday, he saw this one lady who served him his supper and caught his full attention. Besides, uncle Tarran was suprised at the sudden turn of events. Few days ago he was the only one here with no one to help him do the work except for Marina and Naysa when they were available, which was very rare after they graduated. Today he was being served and even escorted to wokr by guards.
He was also suprised when he was told that the planned visiting will be postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. Marina was running crazy and Naysa had to keep her company and ensure safety. That meaning, she wouldn't come home any day soon till Marina got well. He also felt the urge to go check on Marina but time wouldn't allow since he was to report to work. Since when Naysa started bringing Marina home back then when they were still in mid school, Marina had become part of the family and her pain right now concerned uncle Tarran a great deal. Besides, he knew that Marina was the only person Naysa could seek help from and vice versa.
The CEO of Haven company came out of his room after fastening his tie. The maid brought here we're around ten, so they shared the available rooms. After renovation a servant's quarter will be built and they won't stay in the house again. For now, the had to live by it.
When he was descending the stairs, he bumped into the lady.
"Umm... Sorry. Good morning." Aunty Wen greeted.
"Good morning. Hope all is well here." Uncle Tarran ran his eyes over her.
"Sure." Aunty Wen replied as she walked away, leaving him staring at her.
"Boss, breakfast is ready." Frank came in. Uncle Tarran who was not used to being reminded to eat almost snorted but remembered he was now a CEO. Sweet life. He walked to the dining table.
All the while... Naysa had slept in the same room with Marina who was traumatized. Jemmy slept lonely and sad because he wanted his wife all by himself. The next morning before he left for work, they had a small talk with Naysa and later exchanged a good bye kiss.
Marina had spend the whole night talking to no one in particular. The early hours of the morning, she finally managed to catch some sleep. Naysa was tired after staying seated the whole and couldn't sleep this morning because after Jemmy left, Adrian ran in and told her someone was at the gate wanting to see her.
"Who?" Naysa asked with half closed eyes.
"One lady." Adrian replied.
Going out, she met Samara who ran into her for a rough morning hug.
"What happened to sister Marina? Ooh my God! Am Soo sorry. Can I see her?" Samara started.
"Sure." Naysa led her in. After meeting at Spark hotel, and after Samara helping Marina to look for Naysa when she disappeared with James, their friendship had graduated to another level.
Jemmy had suggested to call their personal doctor but Naysa told her what Marina needed now was mental support, not medical attention.
"Marina you will be alright ok?" Samara told the sleeping girl. "Bad things always have a way to get into our happy life once or even twice. Nature has it's own ways."
"Yeah... That's true." Naysa agreed.
At the Johnson's home
Emma came out of her room after a whole hour of browsing on her phone. Janet was making her nails. Emma sunk into the sofa besides her sister.
"I heard of what happened to the Haven's. Marina must be feeling high right now." Emma said.
"The wealth isn't guarantee for long time survival. They might get problems with management." Janet replied.
"I don't think so. Do you not know that the Grants have a leading hand in the success of the Havens? Though the whole story is kept out of the media, Naysa is dating Jemmy Grant, the CEO of Red State Company." Emma said.
"Ooh my God! You don't know how jealous I am." Janet said.
"Is Jemmy's brother single? I better try my luck them. I haven't heard if he ever had someone before." Emma said.
"They are all every girls' taste. I can volunteer to fall for any of them." Janet said. Just then, Janet's phone rung. It was a new number. After talking over for a while, she turned to Emma. "Did you hear that?"
"Hear what?" Emma asked, shifting positions.
"Un unknown person called and said Marina was raped." Janet said.
"What did you say? What if all that is just some lie from an anonymous number? How can you trust a stranger?" Emma said.
"I would not have believed but I have to. She gave all the details about the party and said, Livia was also present. Anyway, her name is Cindy and she is with Livia as we are speaking." Janet said.
"Ooh! So it might be true? Hoy sister got raped..." Emma mocked. The two laughed. " I think Marina developed more enemies than friends out there."
At the Weyners home.
After the development of their friendship, Livia took Cindy Scott to her home. Roderick had called to inform her that he would be coming over for a while. Where Diana went, no one knew. After the funeral, everyone had scattered to their direction. Evening when Roderick came, Livia and Cindyw were in the kitchen preparing supper while Charles was in his study room. When the door was knocked, Cindy excused herself to go check the visitor.
"Hello handsome." She greeted smiling. She has been told that Livia's boyfriend would be coming over. From Charles'expression, he knew that the so called boyfriend wasn't much welcomed here. Also, she didn't know that this was the supposed guy.
"Hello beautiful." Roderick studied her up and down and smiled.
"How may I help you?" Cindy asked.
"Cindy, who is there?" Livia's voice called as she walked into the house. "Hey sweetheart!" Livia jumped into Roderick's arms and they hugged.
"Cindy this is the boyfriend I've been telling you about." Livia introduced.
"Am sorry for keeping you waiting. Am Cindy Scott." She stretched out her hands and they shook.
"I've never heard of the Scotts family. Are you really a citizen from K nation?" Roderick asked with interest.
"Actually you should get in Roderick. Cindy is a citizen of country LA. Stop asking questions and make yourself comfortable." Livia led the was in. The two followed suit.
At Haven's company
Uncle Tarran sat in office busy with updating himself with the works of management. He had ordered for Jake to come over and give him the latest reports. So far, those families who had close ties with the Caskeys had terminated the contract, making the employees doubt the new management.Jake entered and stood respectfully. Frank always stood at the door so no word would escape him.
"Mr. CEO, so far all the families which had a agreed on a contract with this company has terminated the contract after the change in management." Jake started.
