The Last Tears

Emerald Castle... Jemmy sat lonely with his laptop hosting an online meeting with his staff. When he heard a slight movement, he looked at the bed attentively. "Send someone to protect Marina. She's my sister." Naysa said while still asleep. Jemmy didn't understand whether she was dreaming or meant what she said. When he tried to wake her up, she was still sleeping. But anyway, Wade was send off to Polar hotel. Evening, Naysa opened her eyes and stared into the black shiny eyes. Jemmy was too happy when she woke up. Though the doctor just said she was ok, Jemmy could still not believe his words. "How do you feel?" Jemmy asked. Naysa wanted to sit up but the strong hands held her back. "You'll hurt yourself." "Am fine I can sit ok?" She said but Jemmy didn't let her go. "Naysa there is one thing we have to talk about. The way you do take rush decisions is alarming and that's endangering your life. At least, wherever you go, take the guards with you. For the sake of your protection." Jemmy said. Naysa, with Jemmy's support sat up and looked at him. "I just don't know what came over me. Am sorry." She said, lowering her head like an obedient child to the parents. It was too cute that Jemmy stared at her admiringly. Even at her weakest point, she's still never lost her beauty. "I'll make you something to eat." He said as he stood up and headed to the kitchen. "Hey, some wonders here today!" Adrian started. "He's going to personally cook for her." Another guard said. "Wait, does he even know how to cook?" Stenson couldn't help laughing. In a matter of five minutes, the kitchen looked like a tornado zone. Broken pieces of glasses and plates were all over. Flour was all over the place plus in his face. His whole clothes were covered in flour and other kitchen ingredients. When he came out, Naysa who sat in the living room burst out laughing. Stenson couldn't help it as he took pictures. The other guards went out the couldn't suppress their laughter any longer. "Ooh my God! What were you doing?" Naysa held a mirror close to his face but Jemmy closed his eyes. "Do I look terrible?" He asked in a cute deep voice. "No... Not really. Who said my husband can look terrible? You look cute and funny. You've won a suit to the kitchen? I can't help it." Naysa laughed again. Looking at his suit, Jemmy couldn't help frowning. "What did you prepare for me?" She asked. "I made instant noodles." He said. "And how did you have your whole body covered in flour?" She asked. Jemmy kept quiet. "Can I go to the kitchen and have a look?" "No... Don't go there!" Jemmy stepped forward to stop her. "Can we go together then?" Naysa asked. "If you insist." He replied while leading the way. Naysa followed. The whole kitchen was a mess. The trash can was full of spoilt dumplings, pan cakes and many other goods he tried to prepare. He looked at Naysa innocently. "Ok you did a good job, but you're a pretty bad cook." She said. Jemmy stared at her as if digesting what she just said. "Ok, don't be mad at me for that kind of a comment. Can I be your teacher then?" "Sure." He replied. "But there is a fee to pay. Are you ready?" She asked. "How much is it teacher?" He asked eargerly that Naysa laughed. "It's not about money. It's something else." She said. "Whatever you want, I'll do it for you." Jemmy said. "Good, now take a guess before I tell you."

CHAPTER SEVEN: THE WORLD MIGHT BE CRUEL SOMETIMES

Naysa now felt like crying. What does Arya mean by that? " You'll be with me to the end of the world sister." Naysa's voice shook.

" Continue reading." Arya patted her sister softly. Naysa always picked a book from the school library daily to read it to her sister. Today's book had a full cover and a lonely girl holding a guitar. Naysa flipped through the first few pages. The book talked about a young girl who goes through the pain of loosing all her people and struggling with the pain and suffering alone with no one to cry to.

"On the death bed, her father lay helpless and motionless, his eyes deep and lifeless. As she stood by the bedside and watched that painful smile on her father's face, she knew he wouldn't hold on for long. She fought the urge to cry. On the opposite bed was her lonely young brother who had been sick and was almost on the verge of death. She bit her lower lip hard

" Baby girl, my beautiful daughter, when fate strikes, you need to be strong. I see your determination to fight along, to be the hero of your life. I know you will win." Her father said.

" No daddy, I need you to live for me, I need you, my little brother needs you. Without you what will happen to us? Our family? Daddy you need to hold on." She said with a painful tone but a determined face.

Her brother watches the two, he feels the pain in her sister's voice. He forces a smiles and a hot drop of tear slid from his eyes. As her father breathed her last, her brother's body went stiff and cold, but even in his death, he maintained that cute smile, a smile she would never forget. She broke down and cried. She was alone, lonely in heart and in spirit. As she stepped out of the hospital into the lonely road, darkness enveloped her."

Naysa posed and wiped her tears. She looked at her sister. Arya was also crying. Naysa felt guilty, why did I end up with such a sad book?

" Umm... Am sorry Arya, I didn't know it was this sad." She said, wiping the tears off her sister's face with the back of her hands.

" I enjoyed the book." Arya smiled as her eyes shone. " A good book evokes emotions and that's what the book did, don't you think?" Arya said smiling. Naysa smiled too.

"Sure."

" The story seems too sad to be true, loosing two people at ago, you have to be strong. I feel sorry for the girl. Surely the world is somewhat the most cruel place to be." Arya said. Naysa looked at Arya . She didn't understand why everything her sister said seemed to have a hidden meaning.

" Time for dinner girls." Her mother's voice called. Naysa closed the book and helped Arya to the dining table.

The next day when she arrived at school, a new student had been assigned to her desk. She was cute and timid. She looked at her with innocent eyes. Naysa stopped and studied the new student. She was almost the same height as her. Her hair was long and black just like her own. Naysa smiled.

" Welcome... Am Naysa Haven."

"Thank you... Am Marina Johnson." She replied timidly. Naysa patted her softly.

" Am sorry we can't spend more time today. I need to go to the music club to learn a few things. We'll get more time together." She said.

Naysa spend the whole day in the music room and Naysa came to check on her on the evening. She was told go take a taxi to hospital since her sister had bled and lost conscious. She was admitted. Naysa went to hospital and spend the night there. To give Arya a reason to get better quickly, she promised to sing her her first few lines of the song she had composed only after she was discharged. Three days went by and Naysa and Marina became attached. Marina had never had a loving sister. Her mother had died when she was young and left her in custody of the Johnson who had three daughters, Janet, Alice and Emma. The three girls were too hostile towards her.

Arya was finally discharged. Naysa came back from school with a guitar. "Am back guess what?"

" I want to hear that song." Arya said.
