1 Long Ride Home

THUMP

The banging sound awakened Rajesh and he jolted awake. He turned to see what was making

that sound.

There stood a policeman , with some orange

sauce splotches on his collar , reloading a shotgun and throwing it in the back of the car.

He opened the door and sat inside , he fumbled around the dashboard for the ignition key and when he felt the cold touch of it , he grabbed it , twisted it and the car roared into life.

The car left the police station and after about an hour they came to the highway with only a few cars moving with them.

The sky looked perfectly blue , cloudless and bird free

Then the policeman spoke

"Well , I don't think you did that" He said wiping the red splotches of the orange sauce off his collar

"You Do ?" Rajesh asked him who had his gaze locked on the handcuffs strapped around his wrist which seemed to ich his wrist a lot

"Well , while you are going to be all locked up , I suggest that I should tell you about my career and how I got up and up and up to this city and became the Head Inspector of the biggest city in India , Interested ?" He blah-blahed

Rajesh was not at all interested in hearing his life story which going to be the nominee of the Worst Story ever told

"Not Really" Rajesh told

"I'll take that as a yes" He started "In the 70's when I was as young as yours but not as miserable as you but with a lot good intentions and an emotion to do some better to this city" The rest went in a blur , the old man still blah-blahed but Rajesh didn't listen

He saw a bunch of heavenly armoured cars zoom

past them.

And why was their patches of blood on their bumpers when they zoom by ?

He never knew

When Rajesh was thinking hard about it just then the radio tuned up which nearly scared Rajesh to death , a voice slowly cracked in it

"This is Bravo 123 , we have reports of an unknown disease spreading fast and a number of people had died , we need backup , we need backup , we need -" it didn't finish its sentence as the radio turned off and the officer pulled out the plug

"Hey ! Why did you pull out the plug" Rajesh demanded , he wanted to move his legs were stiff from sitting in this car all strapped up

"Ah ! Nothing , must've been a new kind of swine flu and why the hell they need backup , just to file a thousand FIR's" he said stretching his arms leaving the steering wheel

This guy is definately the most weirdest person I've ever seen he thought

"You see , I don't think you should be locked up just you murdered a politician, I think -" Rajesh didn't listen to him as all of a sudden a man walked out onto the road , walking stiffly , Rajesh thought that he might see the police car and get out of the way but instead he just walked

The officer didn't see him as Rajesh shouted

"WATCH OUT !" he screamed at the top of his lungs as the man got bashed by the car

The windshield cracked and his guts were splattered all over the the glass , thick globs of clotted blood ran down the windshield , the police man got startled and spinned the steering wheel to the left as the car broke the metal barrier - and fell down of a cliff
