Peace of Mind

It is dark and quiet. The air is cold and musty, as it always is in Morheim. Shiozu cups her palms over her mouth and sighs, catching the warmth in her hands and rubbing it over her arms. She has the sudden urge to run home and crawl back into bed before anyone even realised she was gone, but she immediately chides herself for having that thought. How dare she, when Karen and the kids are shivering and sharing the one blanket she managed to smuggle from her own home?
