100 Harry's first training session

From there, Neal and Harry went to the second floor to the bathroom, located right above the great hall. It's the moaning myrtle's bathroom. Of course, Harry stayed under the cloak.

"Myrtle, you there?" he called out to the ghost.

As soon as someone called her name, the moaning myrtle escaped her toilet and flew towards him. Well, she cannot be called moaning myrtle anymore as she became a bit normal ever since she finally managed to see the Basilisk again.

With a look of excitement on her face, she greeted him, "Oh, hey Neal. It's been a while. I thought you forgot me."

"Don't be dramatic. It's only been a week," commented Neal before he said, "I'm going to the chamber. Keep an eye for me."

Myrtle was a little bit surprised by Neal's unusual behavior. Nevertheless, she nodded.

Following Neal from behind, Harry continued to stay under the invisibility cloak for the heir of Slytherin doesn't want others to know his cooperation with the boy who lived, well, not at the moment.

With Harry holding onto Neal's back, they jumped down into the pipes before started walking toward the chamber of secrets. No, ever since it was discovered two years ago, it is no longer considered a secret. Unofficially, students started calling it the Slytherin's chamber.

As both of them entered the chamber, Harry saw wooden targets in the shape of humans spread over the area. Some of them were only statues while some of them had wheels below their feet. Neal introduced them as puppets for motion training. After all, in reality, the enemies won't stay there and let you hit them.

"This is our training room, Harry. Since you are a parselmouth, you need my help to enter this place. All you have to remember is the path. You don't want to get lost in these tunnels.

Anyways, there is only one week left till the summer break. So, there's no point to start your training. I'm just showing you this place.

You can stay as a guest at our residence during the summer break. But, that would require Dumbledore's permission and possibly Wesleys' considering how close you are with them. Not to mention, your guardians shouldn't also make any ruckus. I don't want anyone to blame me like I poisoned your mind or something like that.

If it cannot be possible, we'll start at the beginning of the year if you are still interested to train under me."

Harry thought for a while and finally nodded, "Okay."

"Good." Neal nodded in satisfaction. "Now, show me what spells you have learned so far, I mean only the ones that can be used in duels or battles," Neal asked his mentee to demonstrate his skills against the puppet to gain a clear understanding of his strength.

"Alright." Harry didn't intend to say no to anything that Neal says to him as long as it doesn't touch his bottom line. He followed Neal to one of the stationary puppets and pulled out his wand as instructed by his mentor.

Five minutes later;

"Incendio…"

A jet of flames escaped Harry's wand and struck the puppet. The flames weren't strong enough to burn down the puppet but were atleast decent enough to leave a burn mark.

Harry let out a pleasant smile as he was satisfied with the result. Filled with pride, he turned around to look at Neal, only to see him in a state of trance. "What do you think?" he asked.

Neal came out of it and gave an honest comment, "The Dark Lord must be really an idiot to think of you as his greatest enemy. Too weak…"

After a brief pause, he asked the mentee who was taken aback to hear such a comment. "Did you really give your all? How the hell did you even defeat Professor Quirrell and protected the philosopher's stone, three years ago?"

"I was facing life and death…" slowly replied Harry. If not for the fact that he wanted to learn from Neal, he would have stormed out of the place after hearing such an insult from a person who used to be his bitter enemy.

"I see…" Neal thought for a while about how to bring out Harry's potential. After a while, he said, "Alright. I know how to make you stronger. But, before that, I will teach you a spell. You can practice it during your free time at school. It's not a harmful one. So, you won't need any supervision either.

The incantation of the charm is "Cave inimicum" (CAH-vay uh-NIM-i-kuhm). Repeat after me…

"Ca-vey-inim-i-kum" repeated Harry.

"No…" Neal shook his head and repeated the incantation once again.

After a couple of tries, Harry got the incantation right and Neal finally started explaining its effects.

"It is a protective charm that produces a boundary that will keep the caster, means you, hidden from view. Those who were on the other side of the shield will not be able to see, hear, or smell you. On the other hand, you can see them. The spell is almost similar to that of your cloak.

Of course, once they unknowingly enter the boundary you decided on, it will become useless.

Okay, enough explanation. Give it a try… The hand movement is like this…" Neal moved his hand in a vertical semi-circle motion.

After Harry imitated the move a few times, Neal nodded in satisfaction and walked away a distance before waving his wand once again, this time, speaking out the incantation.

As the spell released from Neal's Black walnut wand, he disappeared from Harry's view.

Harry looked around the place and didn't find Neal anywhere.

Remembering the explanation given by Neal, Harry walked forward in the direction where Neal was standing earlier.

When he was around ten feet away from Neal, Harry saw him standing there. "It's amazing…" He exclaimed with a glow on his face.

Neal took a pocket watch out of his front pocket and looked at the time. "Okay, we have two hours till breakfast time, enough time for you to learn it."

Harry nodded with a serious expression and went on trying the spell. Surprisingly, Neal saw that Harry succeeded in just two tries. Perhaps, it is because he already knows the feeling of staying invisible?

Neal figured out that was the case as he refused to acknowledge that Harry was a genius. If he was, he wouldn't need his help in the first place. And Neal never saw Harry excel in learning spells or wizard duels. As for his feats in school, Neal would call him lucky.

"Well, you are a quick learner. So, let's move up the difficulty." Neal decided to give off a more challenging spell, this time. Something that will consume Harry's time. But, at the same time, he also needed to make sure that Harry cannot self-harm while practicing the skill.

Hence, after a little bit of thinking, Neal said, "The next one I'm going to teach you is a shield charm. You can block most of the spells as long as your timing is right. This one is easy to learn but hard to master."

"Okay, I'm ready," said Harry with a determined look. He was completely in a learning mode.

"The incantation is Protego (pro-TAY-goh)." And your hand movement is a simple vertical one."
