Grief is long

AMARA

Amara was put in Borin's room to rest while he went and got meat for her. She wasn't surprised when he brought her back raw meat. Many people ate raw meat in the phenix tribe but cooking was also common there. It dawned on Amara that other tribes didn't cook their meat. Amara said she wanted to eat alone. Borin obliged and left to get wood so he could quickly start building a house. Amara secretly seared the meat and ate it. The hot temperature not bothering her at all. After filling her stomach Amara layed down on the grass Bed and stared. Her thoughts wandered to the images she saw and the smells she smelled. She was mentally taken back to the moment Adan's flesh and soul were burned while the magic rejected him. She couldn't save him and was powerless. She had to watch her brother die. She couldn't bring herself to be grateful to have the phenix magic. Even though she wanted to, she couldn't cry. The tears and sobs got stuck in the maze of her mind. She tortured herself for awhile then fell asleep.
