I’ve spoken already… Please reply to me, Zaike… I want to see your eyes…feel the warmth… let us not be like this, Zaike…I can’t bear this pain anymore…” she paused. “I miss you already!!” Armelle completed texting as her eyes wandered to check once again. Fluttering eyelids!

The single cot was placed in the center of the well-spacious room, the room was dim-lighted, and cords were hanging down for the nurses' call button. The electronic devices were connected to the body to monitor various vitals of the patient who lay there. The ECG waves went up and down marking the live state of the patient.

The room was on the 7th floor which is the top floor of the building. The wall facing the shore had a large live-size window made of glass, enhancing the view of the shore. The curtains were hung blocking the bright light entering the room. The room was painted beautifully and there stood the large portrait of nature. The room was painted ballerina pink along with dandelion yellow marking the geometric designs carved on the wall. There was a luxury couch standing at the other end of the room, it was the resting area for the visitor. There was a mini-refrigerator at the side of the couch for the use of the visitor. The room had nice décor and was well spacious denoting that it wasn't a normal ward. Unlike the normal hospital ward, the room was filled with pleasant aromas setting the mood with soothing peace.

The IV drip which was connected to the patient was about to end, it is when she heard the creaking sound of the door.

"Excuse me, ma'am!!" the nurse called indicating there was a person inside the room apart from her. When she didn't hear any reply from inside, the nurse entered the room with the medicine trolley with some new IV supplements, tablets, syringes, surgical gloves, and a mask. The clanking sound of the trolley awakens the old lady lying on the couch.

"Ahh…you came!! I've dozed off for a while" the old lady spoke to the nurse. "That's okay, ma'am!! I'm appointed to take care of madame Rowan, so you can rest a bit more!!" the young nurse probably in her early twenties replied with a broad smile.

"Nanny ma??" Armelle wondered in her mind. She heard a few more footsteps entering the room, and soon she felt them near her.

A chief doctor along with a resident entered the room to check on the vitals and to notice any improvement in her health. It has already been a day since she was admitted but gained no consciousness. The doctor diagnosed her with dehydration and Muscle soreness due to prolonged swimming in the sea. Her body was in extreme discomfort and every piece of her body ached badly. The OTC pain medicine couldn't be administered to her as there is a possible negative effect on her body.

The doctor walked toward her bed and stood next to the nurse. The resident who looked over the case history of the patient was startled as he heard a voice. "Medical chart," the doctor asked directing his hands towards the resident. The resident handed the chart which he looked over for a while. "Did the lab tests are out??" the doctor spoke. "Yes, chief!!" the resident replied. "Is there anything to notice??" the chief questioned, "Everything fine, chief!" the young doctor replied with a nod.

After a few minutes, she heard a man speak to the nurse, "Change her IV drip, and inject a dose of vitamins along with it."

When the doctor was about to move out of the room, he saw an old lady approaching him, "Doctor, why is she not waking up? Is there anything wrong with her body?" she asked him in a worried tone.

"Don't worry madam. She was just sleeping; she is already fit." The chief doctor replied with a wide smile. "Thank you, doctor," Grandma replied in gratitude.

The nurse moved the medicine trolley beside her bed and checked the falling IV drip. Soon the old IV supplement was replaced with the new one and a dose of additional medicine are injected through the secondary port.

"Grandma, I have done changing her IV supplement. Call me if you need something," the nurse spoke and took her to leave the room.

"Okay, dear!!" Grandma replied with her usual smile.

Soon the room was once again filled with the deafening silence.

Grandma Iris walked towards the cot where Armelle was sleeping. Armelle fluttered her eyes open sluggishly after a long sleep of 30 hours. Her eyes and face were swollen due to the long sleep. Her head pained like splitting which joined with the pain of her body making her uncomfortable.

Grandma who sat in the armchair next to Armelle's bed noticed her wicked granddaughter finally opened her eyes after a long battle of sleep.

"You Brat, is this long sleep enough for you?" she heard her Nanny ma yell at her making her chuckle, as she tried to keep her fluttering eyes open.

Armelle tried to open her mouth to speak but the words didn't come out as expected. "I would have slept more if you people were silent, old brassy lady!!" she replied to her grandma throwing tantrums against them for disturbing her sleep.

Grandma sighed looking at the pouting little girl in front of her.

"I was worried to hell when you didn't wake up for so long…" Grandma spoke in a low tone, her angry face changed to a sad-depressed face as she spoke.

Armelle couldn't stand the sight of her grandma breaking down in tears in front of her. "I'm all right, nanny ma. See me, I'm all good" Armelle spoke in a cherishing tone to boost her grandma.

"You heard doctor right!! Even he said I'm good" she said giggling, making her grandma look at her face. She reassured her grandma with a bashful smile as she gripped her grandma's hand, nodding her head along with a few drops of tears falling from her eyes unconsciously.

"You brat, why do you cry now??" Grandma yelled at her, spilling a few more tears along with Armelle.

"Enough of crying!! Get up!!" Grandma instructed as she helped her to sit up straight, adjusting the cot.

After a while of talking, Armelle spoke, "Nanny!! I'm hungry. Give me something to eat!!"

"Wait!! I'll call the nurse to bring porridge for you" Grandma replied.

when she find her lazy sloth still sitting in the bed, "You sloth, go and brush up your teeth!!! It's been more a day!!!" she shouted at the poor soul in front of her.

"Nannnnnyyyyy" she dragged with glimmering eyes. Nanny knew her kid well as she understood the meaning of those glimmering eyes, "NO SPICY FOODS" Grandma replied in a strict tone.

Armelle: " Rowdy lady," she thought as she couldn't voice out.
