Amelia felt a rush of gratitude and understanding. "Thank you for telling me, Aunt Seraphina."
Seraphina gave a small, sad smile and nodded. "Good. I'll do everything I can to make sure your Physique is subdued."
Amelia stood and watched Seraphina leave, the blowing blizzard doing nothing to hinder her movement. Amelia felt as if a huge load had been lifted from her heart. She took in a deep breath of relief, the icy air stinging her lungs but feeling oddly refreshing.
She wiped her tears, her mind swirling with the revelations and emotions of the past few moments. The burden of not knowing her family's history, the weight of her mother's legacy, and the truth about Seraphina's role in her life—all of it now made sense.
