2 Chapter 1

A girl was sneaking through a dark corridor. It was a cold night with the moon shining down on the big courtyard of the orphanage. The young woman clearly has a clear goal in mind because although she was very quiet, she practically ran through the corridor. She took a turn right and entered a room. It was the kitchen. Without hesitation she opened a cupboard which was filled with tablecloths. The girl started to tie them together, creating a kind of robe. She walked towards the nearby window and opened it. The cold wind blew through her hair and made her shiver a little bit. But she still focused on her mission. To get out of this Hellhole! Slowly she let the rope down, till it reached the ground. The young woman took a deep breath before she began to carefully climb out of the window. She holds the tied tablecloths with a tight grip, to make sure she doesn't fall out of the third floor. The girl took small steps, one after another. She was nearly there, she could feel it. Soon she was gone be free. Just one more step and…

BOOM !!!

Jackie's head shoots up. Confused and shocked, she looks around.

„What the f-!"

„How dare you sleep in my class, young lady! You should be ashamed of yourself! That is going to be two hours detention!"

The teacher points with a ruler, which he had probably used to slam it on the desk in order to wake up Jackie, at her. His face was as red as a tomato or even darker. The vein on his head dangerously looked like it could pop any second and his eyes screamed like he was about to murder her.

„I'm sorry, sir."

„You should be! It is very disrespectful!"

The teacher took a deep breath.

„Now back to class. Who can tell me, when was the first-"

TRING!!!

Saved by the school bell. The kids in class sigh of relief. Everyone quickly noted the homework, grabbed their bags and left. Jackie just left the classroom as well, when suddenly someone bumps into her.

„Well you sure are not the teachers favorite."

She turned around. A small girl with blond hair looked up at her. She wore a pink sweater which was way too big for her and a black skirt with pink boots. Her bag was also pink with some kind of fur. With her bright blue eyes staring at Jackie, she waited for an answer.

„Well thanks Ann. It's not wrong but how do you ?

„Well, we could hear him yell, even through these thick walls. I assume you did something stupid again?"

„I might have fallen asleep during his class."

Jackie gave her a nervous smile.

„Classic you. Well anyways let's get moving cause it is lunchtime and I am starving!"

The two girls made their way to the cafeteria. They talked about school and stuff and about Jackie's punishment which earned an eye roll as reaction from the younger girl. After a couple of minutes they reached the door to the cafeteria. They could already smell the food inside. Jackie and Ann looked at each other, both knowing too well what they were going to be eating today.
