Chapter Four: Dangerous encounter

"Well if it isn't little Yang, how rare to see you In the company of a man" When walking into the shop the two were greeted by a well built man whom looked to be in his early thirties. A well defined face with a fierce glare, such a figure looked out of place cooking while donning an apron but the fragrance wafting from his food spoke volumes about his culinary skills. Tilting his head and give Xiao Yu a thorough look he looked back at Bai Yang while asking " Finally got a boyfriend huh?" With a smile

"No no uncle kēji , he's just a friend. He's traveled quite the distance without food so I brought him here. Please don't spout such things carelessly " Bai Yangs face was red to her ears while sneaking glances at Xiao Yu, noticing his eyes were focused on the food and not the conversation she breathed a sigh of relief while on her beautiful face was a hint of disappointment . " Uncle Kēji This here is Xiao Yu, he's lost his memories so I'm currently taking care of him until he either regains his memory or decides that he wishes to go elsewhere. In the meantime how about you cook us up on of your specialties " Bai Yang smiled at Kēji while nudging Xiao Yu signaling him to pay respect.

"Greetings uncle Kēji, I'm Xiao Yu. Apologies but I haven't eaten in quite a while and even if I did I'd still be tempted by your food" At this point Xiao Yu was almost drooling causing Bai Yang to sigh.

" Hahaha there's nothing better than the praise of a potential customer. Take a seat , I've only had this shop opened for about a year and a half yet my shop is usually flooded because of the quality of my dishes " speaking to here Kēji had a look of pride which was soon replaced by a look of resignation " usually business is best around this time but because of the recent murders as you can see other than the two of you I only have one other customer " saying so Kēji pointed towards the only other customer here. Wearing all black with a hood over his head, the persons features were difficult to make out even their gender was difficult to distinguish because of the persons slender figure.

Xiao Yu and Bai Yang sat not to far from the person and waited until Kēji brought out their meals saying " please enjoy ". Xiao Yu ate like a starved wolf while Bai Yang ate gracefully

"Slow down the food isn't going anywhere, can't you eat like a civilized person?" Bai Yang stared in amazement as the dishes next to Xiao Yu kept piling up until he was finally satisfied. Bai Yang had just finished her fist dish yet she was already full, she looked at Xiao Yu's slim figure wondering 'where does all that food go?'

" This food might not be going anywhere but I am. I wanted to try all the dishes I could as i don't know when I'll be able to enjoy such a meal again " Xiao Yu touched his stomach and said with a smile causing Bai Yang to scoff at his shamelessness.

" Hahaha glad to hear it lad, I can move to the next town with a piece of mind knowing my apprentice will one day fill the customers with stomachs full of satisfaction. " Kēji said with a wide smile

" Your leaving so soon uncle Kēji ? Is Westhurst not to your liking? Or perhaps it's this Assassin that has everyone on edge?" Bai Yang might be leaving with Xiao Yu but it doesn't mean she doesn't care about where she has been raised . Moreover raised as the mayors only daughter , she's felt a sense of responsibility towards the town from a young age and she knows the value of Kēji' schooling. Since he's settled in Westhurst the spike in foreign visitors were as clear as day. Rumors of his delicacies spread throughout the continent of Rockvien causing an influx of travelers including merchants which has brought unexpected prosperity to Westhurst . For this reason Kēji is treated like VIP throughout the town , it is also the reason that the daughter of the towns mayor refers to him as uncle whir the patrolling guards treat it as normal. Bai Yang also genuinely likes Kēji as he is alway kind to her going as far as making and bringing her his specially made herbal soup aiding in her fast recovery.

" I've already stayed longer than I should have. If your worried about the food my apprentice while not on my level is already able to imitate a majority of my dishes . If your worried about me I was a mercenary with the aura of a knight so worry not little Yang" Kēji had a warm smile on his face, it seems he was very fond of her, but to Xiao Yu it looked as though he would reminisce about something while look at her causing such a warm atmosphere.

"It's getting late, if your done eating you two should hurry on home"

"Well uncle Kēji we'll be going but where are you headed next, don't tell my father but I too am planning on leaving soon. I'd like to meet again if possible " Bai Yang had a pressing look as she said this while Kēji had his mouth open in shock most likely from the news that the young miss was leaving the safety of the town she practically opened . But in the end he decided not to ask why as everyone has there reasons for their actions hence he said

" I'll be heading for tomi no mura next. If fate allows it we'll meet again. There's been a lot of dangerous activities as of late especially from the demons side so please be careful little Yang."

"Un, I understand uncle Kēji, as long as I have my body guard here I'll be fine" Bai Yang had a wide smile while Xiao Yu looked up and sighed ' now I'm a body guard huh'

" Hopefully we'll meet again soon uncle, take care" Bai Yang Waved goodbye but Xiao Yus attention was elsewhere.

As the the two left the shop and walked back towards Bai Yangs home Xiao Yu suddenly increased his pace much to Bai Yangs confusion.

"Why are you in such a rush? My home isn't going anywhere and even with the streets empty the scenery is still beautiful, why not enjoy the sights and create some new memories?"

" I'd love to enjoy the sights but unfortunately were being followed " Said Xiao Yu without slowing down. He then pulled Bai Yang closer and said in a low voice " whoever's tailing us definitely aren't coincidentally walking our way nor do the wish to ask for directions, they hold malicious intent and show no intention of hiding it with that amount of bloodlust "

Seeing Xiao Yus grace expression for the first time sent chills down Bai Yangs spine. It was as if the air around them became thicker making her realize the severity of the situation.

" What should we do? It doesn't seem like we should go to my house now." As the mayors daughter Bai Yang has been living in luxury and though her father has incurred the wrath of many throughout his career he has kept his daughter away from harm by paying mercenaries and bodyguards to protect her at all times. But with the merciless slaughter taking place the paid help has either been killed of or ran off already , she's feeling the threat of death for the first time causing her to shake .

" just follow me and stay close, we'll try to throw him off and if that doesn't work there's always plan be" Xiao Yu quickly turned towards an alley as he spoke.

" What's plan B? "

" We kill " The words spoken sounded simple and plain, but a cruel smile formed on Xiao Yus face as he said this" I've already avoided death so I can't very well lie down and die now can I ".

She didn't know why but Bai Yang felt as though Xiao Yu had complete confidence in his words and with that her shaking lessened until it stopped.
