1 Chapter 1: Destiny Arrives

Xiao Yu slowly awakened.

"Where am I?"

As Xiao Yu tried to sit up and look around a sharp pain ran through his body.

"Ahh! What's goin on? Why am I so badly injured ?.

" Oh my , you've finally woken up. We were beginning to think you weren't going to make it. Please try to stay still, we've barley managed to tend to your wounds. You had one foot in the grave when I found you by the riverside . If you were left there for just a little longer I'm afraid you would already be on your way to reincarnation by now.

As Xiao Yu was trying to regain focus after the searing pain settled he heard an almost angelic voice drift through his ears. Looking in the direction of the voice stood a charming women with a seductive figure dawned in a bright red kimono with a delicate nose , eyes that drooped as if she had just woken up and with her lips slightly curved upwards .At a glance the woman seemed to be in her early twenties but her revealing clothing matched with eyes that seemed as though they could see into a persons very soul gave the feeling of someone who's seen enough in life to be called a sage . Looking at such a visage caused Xiao Yu to momentarily forget the pain coursing through his body .

"It seems as though I'm in your debt. But would you happen to know why I was in such a state? And where am I currently?". Asked Xiao Yu with a wry smile

"We're currently located in the furthest region of the Rockvien Continent, Westhurst. As to why you were so gravely injured I can't say, but unlike the other continents the Rockvien continent is the closest to the demons nest. For some reason there has been an abnormal spike in demon activity which has usually been contained to the continent of Darkhaven. Because of their expansion many areas in the Rockvien Continent are in a state of civil unrest, cases of Robbery and murder have become a common occurrence. If I had to take a guess I'd say your a victim of the former, but any later and it would have also been the latter. "

" I sincerely thank you miss..... I'm sorry but I didn't get a chance to ask your name." Xiao Yu said with an embarrassed smile.

" My name is Bai Ying , Daughter of Weathursts City lord. Being so means my family is fairly well off so please make yourself comfortable and heal at your own pace. Though I spoke about civil unrest it is fairly peaceful within the walls of Westhurst so be at ease ." Bai Ying sat next to Xiao Yu's bed and said with a smile, "That's right I didn't catch your name either."

"My Name is Xiao Yu , pleasures to meet you Bai Ying." Said Xiao Yu with a radiant smile.

" Xiao Yu huh, Good name . Would there be any relation to the Xiao family of the Sakura Continent?"

"I..... Ahhh!!??" Xiao Yu was suddenly attacked by a head splitting headache which felt as though someone was attempting to open his skull with a metal rod.

" What's wrong?" Bai Ying quickly stood up and held Xiao Yu with a look of concern." Have your wounds opened ? Where does it hurt?

" No my injuries are fine , but when I tried to remember my home I was hit with pain so fierce I'm afraid to try and recall anything else ."

" Are you saying you've lost your memories? This could be caused by quite a few things but the most logical would be a result of your run in with whoever left you in this state, a traumatic incident which your body is forcing you to forget or a combination of both." Said Bai Ying with a look of dejection ." There are other possibilities but they aren't as common therefore less likely. I'm sorry I can't be of help but this is a problem that only you can face"

"Please don't apologize , I'm grateful enough for your help thus far as I would have already died without it. So it is I who should be saying thank you for saving my life I'll be sure to repay this debt and if your ever in need I'll come running to save you even if I must put my life at risk." Said Xiao Yu with a sincere smile.

" You must've been a playboy before coming here." Bai Ying said as she looked away from his sincere expression with a light blush.

" Could I bother you to give me a run down of the surrounding area? I'd like to go to the library but it seems I won't be able to move for some time."

"No problem , I'll explain as much as I can and I'll bring some books to help you fill in the blanks." Said Bai Ying with a smile.

Xiao Yu could feel her heartfelt intentions. such kindness made him feel as if his wounds were healing at a rapid pace.

" But there are some things that are questionable. Though a robbery is the answer that makes the most sense , why would they leave your chain and sword? Also that chain looks like a family crest, but it's not the crest of any family I've ever seen and each noble crest is listed in the Akashi record . As the City lords sole offspring I must have each and every noble power in all 5 continents committed firmly to memory . The crest around your neck is clearly of noble origin, but it belongs to none of the listed clans.... strange ..?! Oh but don't try to think about it, I was simply thinking out loud. I mean it's strange enough to find a foreign noble lying on the outskirts of town half dead but one of questionable origins as well."Bai Ying seemed to go to another world as she became immersed in the origins of the mysterious young noble before her. It took awhile before she came back to her senses ."Oh my is it this late already , sorry Yu I'll need to run to the library before they close up. Please make yourself at home and I'll prepare dinner when I get back.

As she said that Bai Ying quickly put on her black windbreaker and ran out the door.

"She sure has a lot of energy." Xiao Yu smiles to himself as he watched Bai Ying run out the house with haste." But really I wonder what's happened to me , how did I lose my memory? Where am I from? What's happened to me? Was I attacked and if so what's happened to the attacker? Was he defeated? If so why wasn't he found along with me? If not the why hasn't he finished me off ? . There's too many questions with no one to answer them. Hopefully my memory returns before I meet with calamity, but at the very least it seems I still remember how to defend myself.since I've woken up I've been able to feel the presence of those around me which could only be used for defense . For now I should get a clear feel for my surroundings.

As Yu used his acute senses to probe the surrounding area he gauged the limits of this skill. In doing so he found that he could currently sense up to 20 meters .

" Such a distance isn't something that could be done on the spot. It seems I've taken some time to hone this ability , which should mean that's not the only skill I've trained. The only problem is how to go about finding out what those skills are."

For the next hour Xiao Yu spent his time meditating. After continuing his meditation cycles he begin to notice something unusual. When focusing on a specific area of his body he would know the condition of that location, for the knife wound above his kidney he heard a light Ringing, around the area of his broken rib he heard a constant light crack. But within his dantain the was an uncomfortable wave, Xiao Yu thought that the lightheaded and nauseous feeling he had was because he had just awoken with no memory but it would seem that this wasn't the case. He appeared to have been poisoned.

" It would seem as though things aren't as simple as a robbery . For the poison to flow outward from my dantain would mean this poison was ingested and not the result of an attack. But why would someone go through the trouble of poisoning me and go so far as to attack me even after the poison had taken effect? From the remains of this poison this should have been deadly yet I still live, and if I was ambushed in order to assure my death how am I still alive? I can't relax , my attacker might still be lurking somewhere close and with little to no information I'm the same as a man on an execution platform . I need to hurry and recover so I can start looking for clues. At the moment all I have is this pendant and my name."

Little did Ciao Yu know , just his name and pendant alone would cause a storm so mighty the Gods themselves wouldn't dare try to intervene .
