41 The Diary

From the second floor of the bookstore, Draco Malfoy was seeing Anthony and Harry Potter becoming the center of attention. Inwardly he becomes jealous of how Harry Potter is the seeker of the team and Anthony a genius in every regard.

But soon Lucius Malfoy, his father could be seen to arriving to the bookstore and Draco came down to the first floor to greet his father.

"Father, the stinky Weasels are here. Let's go this place, I have got my second-year books," said Draco Malfoy with disdain.

"Oh, the Weasley's are here? To keep our noble etiquette, we have to greet them. Let's go" said Lucius knocking his cane on the floor and getting near to Arthur Weasley.

When Lucius Malfoy came inside the Bookstore, Anthony naturally observed him and saw the old black diary of Tom Riddle on his hands.

'That is the diary. One more Horcrux.' thought Anthony seeing it with interest. The diary is the first Horcrux that Voldemort has made. It may contain the biggest portion of the soul of Voldemort and may have the most stable emotion.

"Arthur," said Lucius Malfoy holding his hand on the shoulders of Draco Malfoy.

"Lucius," said Mr. Weasley, nodding coldly.

"Busy time at the Ministry, I hear," said Mr. Malfoy. "All those raids . . . I hope they're paying you overtime?"

He reached into Ginny's cauldron and extracted, from amid the glossy Lockhart books, a very old, very battered copy of A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration.

"Obviously not," Mr. Malfoy said. "Dear me, what's the use of being a disgrace to the name of wizard if they don't even pay you well for it?" Mr. Weasley flushed darker than either Ron or Ginny.

"We have a very different idea of what disgraces the name of wizard,

Malfoy," he said. There was a thud of metal as Ginny's cauldron went flying; Mr. Weasley had thrown himself at Mr. Malfoy, knocking him backward into a

bookshelf. Dozens of heavy spellbooks came thundering down on all their

heads; there was a yell of, "Get him, Dad!" from Fred or George; Mrs.

Weasley was shrieking, "No, Arthur, no!"; the crowd stampeded backward,

knocking more shelves over; "Gentlemen, please — please!" cried the

assistant, and then, louder than all —

"Break it up, there, gents, break it up —"

Hagrid was wading toward them through the sea of books. In an instant,

he had pulled Mr. Weasley and Mr. Malfoy apart. Mr. Weasley had a cut lip

and Mr. Malfoy had been hit in the eye by an Encyclopedia of Toadstools.

He was still holding Ginny's old Transfiguration book. He thrust it at her,

his eyes glittering with malice.

"Here, girl — take your book — it's the best your father can give you

—" Pulling himself out of Hagrid's grip he beckoned to Draco and swept

from the shop.

"Yeh should've ignored him, Arthur," said Hagrid, almost lifting Mr. Weasley off his feet as he straightened his robes. "Rotten ter the core, the whole family, everyone knows that — no Malfoy's worth listenin' ter —bad blood, that's what it is — come on now — let's get outta here."

Other may not seen Lucius's action well, but when Lucius Malfoy gave Ginny's book back, actually he has put it in the diary of Tom Riddle as well.

When the Weasleys were about to go, Anthony came to Arthur Weasley and greeted him.

"Hello, Mr.Weasley, Mrs.Weasley, Fred, George, and Mr.Ron Weasley" introduced himself Anthony seeing the children of the Weasleys.

'They have 7 children in total which are Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, Ron, and Ginny. If they didn't have that many children perhaps the financial condition of the Weasleys can be better' thought Anthony.

"This is Harry Potter, my friend" introduced Anthony.

"Hello." Harry stretched his hand and shook hands with Arthur Weasley.

"Harry, Harry Potter?" Ginny Weasley's eyes got round and big and she becomes blushed so that she went hiding in the back of her dad. She feels inferior when thinking that Harry Potter has seen her old and tattered second-hand books.

"It's our pleasure to meet you, Harry Potter, our twins Fred and George have mentioned you and Anthony. It's a brilliant idea to invent the Lightning beverage. It has become the best friend for Officials of the Ministry of Magic" said Arthur smiling.

"Sorry for bothering, Mr.Arthur, but during the commotion just now, I think Mr.Lucius Malfoy has mistaken my diary that I have lost a few moments ago and put it into your girl's cauldron," said Anthony with an embarrassing manner.

"Oh is that so, Ginny, can you check whether there is a diary in your cauldron?" Arthur said with a gentle manner.

Ginny has become more embarrassed that Anthony has mentioned her cauldron. Inside it is some second-handed books and indeed one black diary? Ginny took out the diary in a confused manner and gave it to his dad.

Arthur took the diary and opened it. Inside the diary, it said Property of Tom Marvolo Riddle.

"That is the one! It says the diary of Tom Riddle. It is my pen name, and it was written in magical ink so that when you open it, it will look empty" said Anthony with enthusiasm.

Mr.Arthur looked assured when Anthony told him the characteristics of the Diary so naturally, he passed the diary back to Anthony.

Lupin was seeing Lucius Malfoy's embarrassing moment with delight and Nagini has become curious about the black diary. The Diary feels like a serpent is nearby. It gives a feeling as if it contains Basilisk.

"Anthony, from when did you write a diary? And why did you call yourself Tom?" said Harry Potter with a surprised face. Harry never saw Anthony writing on the dairy.

Soon time after, Anthony, Harry, Nagini, and Lupin went to other shops to buy the next year supplies. When Anthony and Nagini finally reached to their apartment, Anthony went to his room to place hthe Diary into a magical protected case.
