Roland's heart broke when he saw them together. It seemed they settled their differences quickly. No wonder the king sent him out. The wedding was going to take place…and his Arabella was going to be the queen of Alistair's heart.

When the engagement was called off early, he felt better. Once Arabella gets her freedom, he would propose to her with the permission of her father. He was not going to allow her to go through what she didn't want.

"Roland…" Percival called as soon as he got to the hall. "How did it go?"

"I don't know," he replied, trying his best to brighten up. No one must come to know his little secret. "The king will join us. He has an important announcement to make."

"I shall inform the guests," Percival said. He wanted to go back inside when he noticed the look on his face. "Did something happen over there?"

"No…no," Roland replied, quickly.
