Stranded

Waking with a start he could hear the calling of seagulls over head, laying in his small boat he began to sit up as he took in his surroundings.

He was on a beach without a soul insight, getting to his feet the youth grabbed a trunk that had luckily survived the journey with him. As he stood he could be seen adorned in black garb with a light bit of armor, on his waist a sword along with a few tool pouches and finally his face was covered only revealing his cruel looking eyes.

The youth pulled his boat ashore in an amazing show of strength as he made it seem effortless, once fully ashore he grabbed the trunk and began to explore his surroundings. It was rather tropical where he was now but moving inland he found the sand quickly became rich dark soil and the tropical forestry gave way to a more backwoods forest scene.

As he went deeper into the forest he ended up discovering a cave inside a cliff wall, inspecting the formation carefully he found it to be completely uninhabited.

No signs of animals residing within let alone people, this was all he needed to decide to take up residence in this place. Putting the trunk to the very back of the cave he decided to satiate his hunger, he remembered seeing some fruits and small odd looking animals along the way. He would make use of them to fill his belly.

---------- elsewhere------

A woman with stitches covering her body was staring towards the coast where a black aura was shining like a beacon, it was something that only her and her ilk were capable of seeing. This was an aura of death, and so potent it honestly left her feeling a bit of trepidation.

"Send word to the other factions in the area, tell them a potential threat lurks on the coast. A thick cloud of death is on the horizon and it's origin is unknown, we request reinforcements." stated the stitched woman as a petite girl with two metal bolts in her neck wrote everything down a slight green tint to her skin along with stitches along certain parts of her body.

"Frankie, do try and hurry." spoke the woman as she looked towards the girl.

"I'll do my best Suri." nodded the petite girl.

The now named Suri merely nodded as Frankie took off, her eyes fixed on the deathly aura wafting up from the forest near the beach.

---------- back at the cave-------

The youth was currently working on a fire to cook a few of the little creatures he had found, odd looking mice like creatures with small trunks on their faces. but they were around the size of a rabbit so after collecting a few along with some fruit he had returned to his cave. The fruit he was sampling cautiously as even though he had trained his resistance to poisons it was still fool hardy to just eat the first thing you found without a care.

A couple more clacks of the flint and steel and his tinder bundle began to ignite, slowly adding wood until he had a decent fire going he placed his harvested game over the fire occasionally rotating them to prevent as much charring as possible. He let it sit over the fire for as long as possible without burning it to allow any would be parasites or disease to thoroughly cook out of the meat.

The sun by now was starting to set, it was no surprise. When he had awoke the sun was already high in the sky and the amount of time he had spent tracking and foraging for food had taken a majority of the day that was left.

As he bit into the meat his eyes widened at the taste, it was delicious. The same could be said for the fruit he had eaten before, they were far more tasty than those he had eaten before on the mainland.

Digging in with gusto, he quickly devoured his prey before gathering some wood into his cave and using the coals from his cook fire to ignite the one in his cave. He did this because he could already feel a nip in the air meaning the temperatures would only get lower as the night progressed.

---------Suri's territory-----

Suri was a bit relieved to see some of the heads of the other local factions had indeed arrived as she had requested.

"Speak corpse Queen, what is this threat you were so concerned about." asked a short bushy bearded man that could be recognized as a dwarf.

"I must admit I too, am quite curious about this 'threat' you spoke of" stated a woman with large scaly wings and two horns rising from her head in short stubs.

Suri looked at the gathered factions, there were three in total. The Dragons who dwelled atop the mountains, the Dwarves who dwelled below and finally the Goblins who roamed the forests in small tribes.

"Today a deathly aura denser than my own appeared near the beach, from there it moved into the forest and disappeared merely minutes ago. I have yet to investigate for fear of the strength of such creature, thus I requested you all here. I am just saddened that this matter was seen as trivial by our other counterparts. However I am certain that with the four of us we can handle this threat rather easily." explained Suri causing the four leaders to look at each other.

"So you gathered us here over a threat you haven't even confirmed? Seems it was a waste of my time to come here." sighed the Dragon Matriarch with a shake of her head as she stood and left.

"Suri, I know you get nervous but if you are going to request assistance then you need to have an idea of what you are requesting assistance with." sighed the Goblin Queen as she too, stood to leave.

"I thank you for this warning Suri, but the dwarves move for riches and actual threats. I am afraid I cannot assist. Please forgive me." bowed the Dwarf king causing Suri to stare at the group with frustration.

"Fine, leave. Don't come crawling back when you realize your folly." huffed Suri as she looked to the last location of the aura.

'Fine, I'll investigate by myself then.' thought Suri as her robe began to flutter and she soared through the sky.
