Confused Xie

Ray was busy thinking about how did he ended up in this kind of messed up situation.

His day was going rather smoothly as normal. He had finished all the appointments in time and was off to have dinner with his friends.... where did it go wrong? Why am I in this situation? How could 3 consecutive rights lead him to wrong place at wrong time?

His train of thoughts were soon interrupted by two men holding grabbing his arms and pushing him to his knees to tie him up.

He shouted in a hurried way towards Xie

" Sir please, I am a doctor I can save your boss's and those gaurds lives. They need first aid. Excessive blood loss can be life threatening."

As Xie heard the words life threatening his cold face turned concerned. He had always treated Ari like his little sister and always protected her with his life. After Ari lost her parents he took their place and tried to raise her with care. He knew how much Ari values her people and if even one of them dies she would regret it for a long time. If it wasn't for his wife in labor he would have never left her side and this would have not happened. So he can't let anything more go wrong.

Xie looked at Ray and said sincerely

"the first aid box is in the car, if anything happens to boss or her bodyguards believe me you won't see tomorrow's sun." He gestured his men to take care of the bodies and seal the matter before it reaches police.

Ray quickly walked towards the car even more afraid than he was before. Ari was also brought in and the car started towards hospital. Nearest hospital was over 30 min away. Meanwhile Ray performed the first aid.

When they reached hospital Ari was immediately taken into operating room and the bullets were removed also her wounds were covered and she was medicated to sleep.Ari was shifted to VIP room later on.

Ray was greeted by the staff who were shocked to see him with these armed people and still working after his shift was over.

He was also brought to the VIP room as he was the only concious witness. He was asked to tell everything that happened there. This time Xie was much less terrifying as he has now confirmed the identity of Ray as a harmless timid yet skilful doctor.

Ray told them every detail of the story that he withnessed, it almost took him 30 min to explain them the situation and that the was caught up in it by sheer bad luck.

Xie was not yet convinced though he had to hear it from Ari to confirm.

Ari woke up about 2 hours later, Pale Ray was still held hostage by Xie.

Xie who was sitting on a chair next to her bed got up seeing Ari open her eyes.

"Boss are you ok?" he asked in a concerned voice.

Ari simply noded, her eyes were fixed on Ray who was standing in the corner.

Ray called the nurse and checked Ari's vitals after confirming everything was alright he turned to Xie and said

"She can be discharged but she is not completely fine she will require personal nurse and visit doctor for few days to get bandages changed, so I suggest she should stay in hospital"

Xie replied sternly "Not possible. She is not safe here."

Ray sighed and said in a defeated tone " Then do as you please." He thought who was this woman exactly? and why was her life at risk...

Ari who was listening quietly could not help but smile looking at Ray's face. Ari liked dogs even more so she liked comparing people's expression to dog's.

Xie was confused to see her smile. He had not seen her smile since she took over King's underworld association and before that too her smiling was quite rare. Even if she was to smile it was either buisness smile reserved for meetings or cold smile before going on a murder spree.

He said concerned with her behaviour "What kind of drugs did they gave you? Look at yourself you are smiling like crazy.."

Ari smiled at her big brother Xie and said " Don't get used to it brother it won't last long for you"

Xie ignored what she said and continued " So what happened how were you caught middle of ally surrounded by assassins? "

Ari was a bit embarrassed and started story directly from the fight. Xie looked at her suspiciously he knew that she was definitely hiding something but this wasn't right place or time to interrogate her. Either way he would come to know when Ari tell his wife about it. Sighing Xie turned towards the hostage and said "So you were telling the truth Dr.Ray, I will let you go this time"

Ari's face turned cold and she glared at Xie" Did you hold him hostage here?"

Xie shivered under her gaze, although he had been with her from her birth and he practically raised her but he could never overcome her intimidating gaze since they were young. Maybe this is why she was able to control so many powerful men under her.

Xie replied " But boss it was for your safet...."

He was cut short by Ari as she said in commanding voice" You should have asked me first. We can't hold innocent people like this. Where are your manners?"

Xie was even more confused, this wasn't the first time he did this for her and what manners? He was used to killing people before even questioning. He was known as crazy killer before he married his love. Holding hostage was normal safety routine for him, whats so special about this man? Why is his boss so warm towards him?

He opened his mouth to say" But you were unconscious so...."

And once again he was cut short by Ari

" Dr. Ray, I am so sorry about my associate here. He is a bit paranoid about my security these days. You must shocked and tired after the incident. And I am sure Xie would have not spared you even a second of rest, so please you can go on and rest now. Today was such a mess, we would apologize to you specially some other day."

" And thank you for saving my life back then. If you hadn't fired I might have been dead and don't worry no charges would be pressed against you as this whole accident was illegally planned by my opponent so it won't reach police as they will cover all the tracks. And if anything is to happen I will take care of it before hand. Your routine life won't be distributed any further"

Xie was super confused, his boss was being soft towards a man and even her eyes were sparkling.. what had happened to her? did she hit her head hard or is she in love with this man? But how is that possible? Doesn't she hate all men? what is so special about this timid fellow?

Anyways Ray was triggering Xie's Sis complex.

Ray replied to Ari ignoring glaring Xie" Thank you miss Ari for your kindness also I totally understand Mr.Xie's point of view too. And about me saving your life...well it was just done in a moment of panick, I don't even remember how I fired....it all happened so quick."

Ari smiled like an Angel and said" Dr.Ray is too humble. I hope we meet again. Ah well, in better situation."

" Of course miss Ari. Now I must take my leave."

It was almost midnight when Ray left.

Xie looked at Ari baffled and filled with jelousy.

Ari said" Stop staring Xie, I won't be answering any of your questions and be polite to Ray"

Xie could only mutter"whatttt...?"

Ari continued ignoring him and changed the topic" So how is your wife now?"
