3 Your Incompetence Is Contegious

Daryl was seated inside the cargo plane waiting for the rest of the SEAL team to come in. He was listening in to the conversation of the team, the team that had taken him from the crater. Ever since that day, they had been trained to keep up with him, making them the most trained, combat effective team out there.

"I'm not saying that the kid is as great as you but he will be one day. He has been trained by the best since he entered the academy to replace you as the leader," Bobby said, getting a glare from their Captain, Sally.

"Another word from you and I will make it personal," Sally warned him. He had the best score in the academy but they were broken by a babyfaced recruit, he couldn't quite accept it.

"Say, Sally, the General said Daryl will come with us in this mission. What do you think made him decide to include the kid in this?" another member asked. His name was Felix.

"This mission might include something that not normal humans would handle. I personally can't wait to see the kid. Been two years since I saw him and he almost threw a damn fighter jet at us for leaving him behind," Sally chuckled. By then, they had geared up and we're leaving the locker room. They met with a 23 new recruit decked up with everything he learnt from the Academy he needed. He saluted when he saw them coming out.

"Captain Sally Armada, my name is Private Daneel Hester, a new transfer to this regiment. I was tasked to report to you upon arrival," he said. Sally just nodded, never stopping walking. The private continued staying at attention until he was given the order not to.

"What are you doing? You look stupid. Just follow us," Felix shouted at him. The private did as told and jogged to catch up. He kept his mouth shut till they arrived at the plane where he saw Daryl seated inside it. He saw he was wearing military uniform and thought he stole them.

"You there, you are not supposed to be in here. Put your hands up and get down on your knees," Daneel shouted. The rest were quite frightened to hear this. They remembered what Daryl can do and how even the General doesn't go overboard with him yet here was the recruit already making enemies with him. Daryl got up slowly as he looked at him. "Don't move!" Daneel just blinked and Daryl was in front of him. Before he realised what was happening, he found that the sky was coming closer and closer to him as wind blew on his face. It took him a second to realize he was flying upwards and would soon be coming down, making him start screaming. On the ground, the seven were looking up with different expressions.

"Look, he just passed the clouds!" Boozer pointed out.

"Yeah, must be nice to feel them," Wayne said.

"Good throw, kid. Didn't like him," Sally congratulated Daryl with a pat on his back as he got inside the plane. Daryl followed him but Felix got hold of his hand.

"Hey, you gotta catch that kid otherwise we will be given a negative report if he dies," Felix said, making Daryl sigh in disappointment as he stood on the ready. Soon, the screams of Daneel come down filled the sky. Daryl flew up, caught him, flew back into the plane and threw him on the floor. Daneel was hyperventilating by then because of the scare he had. His face was red and his body was still pumping adrenaline.

"Daneel, meet the reason why this regiment exists. His name is Daryl and everybody in this base except you raised him. You will be briefed about him later but for general knowledge, he is our Homelander," Sally introduced Daryl to Daneel.

"What are we to do anyway?" Daryl asked Sally.

"Apparently some thieves got lucky by raiding a bank with a flashdrive with important too secret documents in them. We are to get them back,"

"So important I had to be included?" Daryl asked.

"Exactomando," Bobby answered. "These thieves have become bold enough to blackmail the Oval Office with the information."

"It's never a full day with the president, huh?" Daryl chuckled.

"Alright, wheels up, we will be in California in three hours," Sally shouted.

The seven of them slowly made their way into the huge mansion, their movement as quiet as a mouse. Daryl was leading them, his role as the tank and spy at the same time. He looked through a wall and saw two armed men standing there. He signalled the res to head to the door as he stood behind the second man, behind the wall. Sally counted to three before he breached the door and Boozer got in, fired at the first man. The second man was about to react when a hand came through the wall, got hold of his head and opened it with just one swipe!

The noise must have attracted two more upstairs for Daryl could see them moving. When they opened the door, they found Daryl staying there. Before they could shoot at him, Daryl slapped the first man, taking half his body easily. The second man was shocked and terrified that he froze, making Daryl rip his heart out. The body fell to the floor just as the company came over.

"Anything?" Sally asked him.

"Looked through the walls and floor, nothing," Daryl answered. Sally nodded and took out his coms.

"This is SEAL team Cordex, the house search came out positive for hostiles, negative for objective," Sally reported. Daryl suddenly looked through the wall towards the driveway.

"Someone just drove here. He has a metal jewelry box in his inner jacket pocket," Daryl warned them.

"You just saw him through two feet of concrete?" Daneel asked in amazement. Daryl didn't answer as the rest went into position. Just then, a phone rang, making everyone stop.

"He's the one ringing it," Daryl said. He saw as the man suddenly put the head in reverse and was about to step on the gas. Daryl ran out of the house in superspeed, got into the car and tore out the steering wheel. The man looked quite shocked to see this he forgot his foot was pressing on the gas pedal. The car shot backwards, into incoming traffic where a two cars hit it from both sides. The SEALs ran out of the house and saw this scene though none of them except Daneel were concerned about his safety. The front passenger's door of the car was ripped off and Daneel walked out, unharmed, in his hand was the box.

"Got it," he said. He gave the box to Sally who was about to call it in when they heard the sound of the sound barrier breaking then one of the Seven, A-Train arrived in front of them.

"Hi there, boys. I got this," he said, pointing at the box. Sally and the others prepared themselves for a fight as Daryl looked through the box and saw what was inside, a vial with a blue liquid.

"What's in the box?" Daryl asked him.

"That's not your problem, soldier boy. Just give it to me," A-Train said, his voice showing distress.

"We cannot go against our orders to bring this back to base," Sally told him, the safety pin of his gun coming off. A-Train saw this and sighed in frustration. He put on his googles as the seven aimed their guns at him. To A-Train, everything started moving in slowmotion and he ran towards Boozer, decked him on the jaw, making him fly backwards in slowmotion. He continued on till Sally, hitting everyone of them once. He then got looked at Daryl and found something quote unnerving; his eyes were looking straight into his!

"What the..." He didn't finish the statement as he saw Daryl suddenly move towards him. Daryl feigned a left hook, making A-Train strive his left but Daryl threw a right fist much faster than befor, hitting A-Train right on his face. The speedster felt his head grow light headed as his body hit the ground with so much force the road broke apart as he bounced back to the air where an axe kick slammed him back to the ground, making him become unconscious. Everything went back to normal speed as the seven soldiers flew backwards with groans of pain. Daryl went to Sally, took his radio and called it in.

"This is Star talking, we encountered resistance. It has been handled but it might be trouble. I just took out A-Train," Daryl called it in. There was silence from the other side for a few seconds.

"Good job, soldier. Bring the others and the package back to base. A-Train will be fine," General Luis said. Daryl nodded and looked around. He put everyone into the wreck after removing the body, picked it onto his shoulders and he flew off.

A-Train was sweating bullets as he stared as Madeline Stillwell, Homelander and the CEO of the company, Stan Edgar. Homelander had his angry face one which made A-Train feel dread.

"If I knew you would be this incompetent I would have gone there myself!" Homelander stiffly said.

"It is not incompetence if I didn't get the whole memo about who I was facing," A-Train answered, making Edgar raise a brow in fascination.

"You are saying we sent you with half the information?" he asked. A-Train saw the line when he was drowning.

"Yes. I had just taken seven of the eight soldiers and when I was going to neutralize the eighth one, I noticed his eyes were following me! No normal person should be able to do that and nothing prepared me for what happened next. He came at me with the same speed I was! I was so surprised that he sucker punched me out cold," A-Train narrated, omitting the part where he got confused with a feint.

"Are you saying the military have a super?" Edgar asked, quite startled.

"The soldier was moving as fast as me, probably even faster," A-Train confirmed. Edgar looked at Madeline, they spoke with each other through facial expressions then turned towards A-Train.

"True, it has been our hindsight of the military making Supers that led to this. We will try to give you all the information next time," Madeline said, making A-Train sigh in relief.

"You are not out of the woods yet, A-Train," Stan Edgar however said, making A-Train's heart clench in dread. "That doesn't mean that you should have lost the Compound V! If you are not the fastest man alive, then why do we need you in the Seven?" A-Train could feel the world spinning. Just the thought of been kicked out of the Seven because of this made him feel quesy.

"P...Please, I...I will do my best. Please, another chance, give me another chance. The Seven is everything I got!" A-Train pleaded, almost getting to his knees.

"Let this be our last mistake, A-Train, for I know it will be Vaught's. Yours? I have no faith in. Now, get out," Edgar said. A-Train did not need to be told twice as he got out as fast as he could without using his super speed.

"The military with a Super! This is just great!" Edgar sarcastically said. He turned to Madeline. "I want you to go through every Compound V documents we have. I want to know just how much we are missing. Then get a few ears inside the military and tell me just how many super they have!" Edgar said, his voice for the first time showing anger.

"Right away, Mr Edgar," Madeline said and walked out, leaving Homelander with Stan. Edgar turned towards Homelander with a grim look.

"The last time I noticed, your hearing was quite superb, am I right?" Stan asked him.

"Good to know your memory is still good with your age, Edgar," Homelander added in a snarky remark.

"I eat my veggies. Tell me, Homelander, didn't your hearing catch anything about the military making their own super? Or how they made him?"

"No."

"Hmm, it appears the Seven have been learning from you," Edgar said as he got up and headed for the door. When he got to it, he stopped for a moment. "Your incompetence is contegious." With that, Edgar walked out, leaving a seething angry Homelander who got up and punched the wall behind him, his whole hand going through the wall.
