6 The Future Of Krypton

"Regarding the matter of Krypton, the elders have always known that if they continue to stay on Krypton, it will only bring destruction, but they just don't want to leave. They are afraid."

"I don't know what they are afraid of, but I must not let our child continue to live in such an environment."

Laura remained silent. No Kryptonian could be devoid of feelings for their homeworld, but it seemed that changing the status quo was an uphill battle. Even her husband could not succeed in making the elders to relocate; what more could she do?

The Council of Elders clung to their reluctance to leave, even desiring the entirety of Krypton to be buried along with them.

Varion was determined to obtain the Code of Life, and Clark's vision for the future of the Kryptonians was incongruent with his own.

To be frank, even with the Code of Life, Clark was still a relatively feeble Kryptonian. After decades on Earth, basking in the yellow sun, he had nearly lost to Zod, a Kryptonian who had just arrived on Earth. It was mostly due to Zod's innate warrior template, making combat an instinct for him, whereas Clark had been passively adapting. In essence, he had never truly understood his own potential.

In essence, he had been lazy and complacent, failing to develop his physical abilities. How did this differ from being a mere underachiever?

Possessing the coveted treasure that others could only dream of, yet forsaking it like a discarded shoe was an exceedingly foolish act. Having the Code of Life bestowed limitless potential, yet he remained inert.

How could such a person be considered the future of Krypton? How could he prove worthy of the Code of Life?

.....

Another two months passed.

"Master, everything is loaded, and the ship is equipped with cutting-edge AI. This is the spacecraft's control core, and the key belongs to you." Mousse handed over a seemingly unremarkable black ornament, bearing a symbol resembling an Z, representing Zar, signifying balance and Power.

In truth, it was the master key to the spacecraft, bearing the authority of his grandfather, Kayla, within it.

Kayla was a member of the Council of Elders. With this level of authority, one could unlock all technological devices on Krypton and even command all Kryptonians, provided there were no higher-ranking authorities.

It was said to be a small gift from his paternal grandfather, Kayla, upon hearing about the spacecraft renovation, but in Varion's eyes, it felt more like a form of torment.

"Thank you for your hard work, Mousse. How have the other family members been lately?"

"Just the usual," Mousse replied.

Today, he was dressed in a new outfit he had painstakingly created. This attire was highly resilient, capable of withstanding small missiles with ease. When combined with his own biological force field, it would be even more resilient if he ever basked in the yellow sun again.

Why didn't Hulk's pants disintegrate? Why didn't Superman's suit wear out? The answer lay in the biological force field.

The biological force field, intangible and invisible, was an extension of a living organism's essence. In martial arts, it was sometimes referred to as a "domain." Certain living races used these biological force fields for communication and interaction, though such races were rare. However, when they did exist, their biological force fields were remarkably powerful, often imbuing them with incredible abilities. Examples included the Zerg and the Kiritas.

Nonetheless, there were variations among the Kiritas, and not all followed the same path. Many Kiritas underwent technological transformations, following a hive cluster model where killing the BOSS led to the immediate departure of subordinate entities.

The weather on Krypton remained tranquil. People continued to live their lives as usual, enjoying meals, parties, and various celebrations.

"Is this a prelude to the end?" Varion wondered, furrowing his brow. The entire race seemed to be caught up in this atmosphere, and he had heard that Zod had recently assembled some of his loyal subordinates. A faint smile crept onto Varion's lips. Zod was a general, but he had no authority to mobilize the army outside of wartime, especially not within the city.

Only his most dedicated followers were present, and it appeared that the time for action was drawing near.

"Thankfully, I made preparations in advance. Otherwise, I wouldn't know what to do."

With a scientific research spaceship at his disposal, Varion had a means of returning. Now, all he needed was for events to unfold, and he could depart from Krypton and the DC universe after obtaining the Code of Life.

"I hope nothing goes wrong."
