Jor-El struggled to maneuver the bird and finally reached his family's manor. However, the scene here was far from beautiful. The defenses of the manor had been breached, and Laura had been apprehended by a group of individuals. His newborn child was in the arms of another person.

"Varion Zar? What does this kid want? Why is he coercing my wife?"

Without hesitation, Jor-El jumped down from the bird.

"Varion, what are you doing? Do you realize the consequences of your actions?"

Varion playfully teased the baby in his arms, the future Superman.

"Jor-El, do you think I'm joking with you?" He looked up at Laura and then at the baby he cradled.

"I'll give you ten seconds to prepare. Hand over the Code of Life, or today, all of you will return to Krypton."

"Impossible, I..."

Seeing Laura's pleading eyes, Jor-El grew nervous and panicked. He felt like he was a lamb to the slaughter, and others could do as they pleased.

He never imagined that Varion would go to such lengths.

"Varion, listen to me. I'm here for Krypton, for the future of our race..."

Varion waved his hand dismissively. "You have five seconds left."

"Four seconds."

"Two seconds."

Laura was now lying helpless on the ground, her gaze fixed on Jor-El. He suddenly found himself unable to make a decision: to give in or not?

"Kill her," Varion ordered, and immediately, someone aimed a weapon at Laura, ready to fire.

"Stop, that's enough... you monster, enough! I'll give it to you," Jor-El raised his hands in surrender.

The Code of Life was right there. He handed the baby, Clark, to Laura and retrieved the Code of Life from the guard. It was the first time he had seen this artifact. It truly resembled a skull. Ancestral?

As Varion departed, Jor-El uttered a few words, "You've destroyed our future, you Kryptonian sinner."

Varion gave him a cold glance. "You should know who the real sinner is. Are you truly acting for the future of Krypton? No, no, you're doing it for your son. Remember, I will find him."

With that, he left immediately. Jor-El couldn't concern himself with anything else at the moment. If he didn't send his son away now, he might never get the chance.

Laura and Jor-El rushed back to the castle's base, where a small spaceship was prepared for their child. Jor-El emphasizing that they needed to send their child away quickly, as it might be their only chance.

Laura, tearful, worried about the fate of their child. She feared that he might die alone in space. Jor-El tried to comfort her, reminding her that this was their only hope. The small spaceship departed from the castle and vanished into space, distorting space to create a shuttle channel.

Meanwhile, in the Elder Hall, Zod was imprisoned, witnessing the events involving Varion and Jor-El. Varion's father, Abel, was also present. Zod expressed disdain for their idea of hope.

Kayla responded, telling Zod that he was part of their prepared hopes. She indicated that they were aware of Krypton's crisis and the weaknesses of the Kryptonian system. Zod questioned why they didn't give him the Code of Life, suggesting that he could bring hope to Krypton.

Kayla explained that they had found a better and more secure future, mentioning "Varion." An elder confirmed that they had found a more promising path.

Zod attempted to express his determination, but he was abruptly interrupted. Transparent objects covered him and his subordinates from head to toe, a standard procedure in the Phantom Zone.

While inside, they couldn't move or die, but their brains remained awake and aware of the outside world. They were effectively trapped, unable to communicate or move, forced to watch themselves in isolation for an extended period, which could span hundreds or thousands of years, ultimately driving them to madness.
